Devilish secretary - Chapter 90
Chapter 90: Chapter 90 Secrets Chapter 90: Chapter 90 Secrets Grandma Bria’s hand froze mid-air, her eyes narrowing at the sight.
“Stay away from Miss Rose,” the first bodyguard Brett said coldly, stepping forward to block the car door.
His dark eyes locked onto Bria without a flicker of hesitation.
Sienna stumbled back, her eyes widening as she instinctively hid behind Bria.
“Who do you think you are?” Bria’s voice was sharp, though a trace of uncertainty slipped into her tone.
“How dare you speak to me like that!” The bodyguard’s eyes remained steady.
“I work for Mr.
Sebastian Carter.
He instructed us personally.
Sienna Blake and Old lady Bria are not allowed near Miss Rose.” Bria’s eyes flared with disbelief.
“Excuse me?!
Sebastian wouldn’t-” “Those were his exact words,” the bodyguard interrupted, his voice like steel.
“We stepped away for a moment, but we didn’t expect dirt to try sneaking into the house.” His blunt words landed harshly, making Sienna flush with anger.
“How dare you-” Sienna began, stepping forward.
The guard’s hand rested casually on the handle of his gun, and Sienna immediately took a step back, biting her tongue.
“Let Miss Rose out of the car,” the guard ordered, his gaze never leaving Bria’s.
Bria clenched her jaw, her glare sharp as she stared at the guards, barely hiding her anger.
“I am her grandmother,” Bria hissed.
“And he is her brother,” the guard replied coldly.
“And the one who pays our salaries.
Now let her out.” Bria’s hand trembled at her side, her pride warring with the fear settling in her chest.
After a long, tense pause, she finally yanked the car door open, practically shoving Rose toward the guards.
Rose stumbled slightly but was quickly caught by one of the guards, who kneeled in front of her with a gentle but professional expression.
“Are you alright, Miss Rose?” he asked softly.
Rose nodded, tears still brimming in her eyes, but relief washed over her like a wave.
“Take her inside,” the head guard Brett instructed, watching as two others escorted Rose back toward the house.
As they disappeared, bodyguard Brett turned back to face Bria and Sienna.
His cold gaze lingered, and his presence carried a quiet but firm sense of authority.
“I suggest you leave,” he said flatly.
“Before Mr.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
Sebastian hears about this.” Sienna swallowed thickly, tugging on Bria’s sleeve.
“Let’s go, Grandma,” she muttered, her earlier satisfaction completely gone.
Bria stood frozen for a moment longer before finally turning on her heel, storming back toward the car without another word.
*** Grandma Bria sat in the back seat, fuming, her cane rattling on the floor as the car bumped along the road.
Her fingers tapped restlessly against the leather seat, eyes narrowed with lingering anger.
Sienna sat beside her, arms crossed and legs delicately crossed at the ankles, but her gaze flickered with curiosity.
“I didn’t expect Sebastian to do this!!” Bria snapped suddenly, breaking the tense silence.
She gripped the edge of her seat tightly, her lips pressed into a thin line.
Sienna, sensing an opportunity, leaned in slightly, her voice laced with mock sympathy.
“I didn’t expect Sebby to turn on his own grandmother,” she added, tilting her head just enough to watch Bria’s reaction.
Bria’s eyes flashed with bitterness.
She scoffed, leaning forward with an icy glare.
“Own grandmother?” she repeated coldly.
“No… he and Rose aren’t even my real grandchildren.” Sienna’s eyes widened, her head snapping to the side as she stared at Bria in disbelief.
“What?” Sienna gasped, gripping her purse tightly.
“What do you mean they’re not your real grandchildren?” Bria’s hands clenched on her lap, her knuckles turning white.
“Their grandfather, Arthur,” she began, her voice low and sharp, “married that woman in secret.
Some poor bitch who wormed her way into his life before I could.” Sienna’s brows furrowed as she tried to process the revelation.
“But… I thought you and grandpa were always together?” she asked hesitantly.
Bria’s lips curled in disgust.
“I loved him,” she hissed.
“He was supposed to be mine.
But he-” she paused, her eyes narrowing dangerously, “-married her first.
A hidden marriage no one knew about until long after.” Sienna’s mouth hung open slightly, the pieces slowly clicking into place.
“She died,” Bria continued coldly.
“And once she was out of the picture, I married Arthur.
Rightfully.” Sienna shifted in her seat, her mind spinning.
“So…Uncle Alan was from that secret marriage?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Bria nodded stiffly.
“Yes.
Alan was the only child born from that woman.
Later, when he married, his wife gave birth to Sebastian and Rose.” Sienna leaned back, quietly processing Bria’s words.
Sebastian and Rose… are just step-grandchildren.
Her fingers toyed with the edge of her skirt as a slow smirk tugged at her lips.
Bria, still seething, didn’t notice.
“Arthur wanted me to raise his son Alan, and now his grandchildren,” Bria spat bitterly.
“I tolerated them for his sake… raised them with love.
But now, Sebastian thinks he has the power to keep Rose away from me?” Sienna’s eyes glinted with amusement.
This… this could be very useful.
Sienna’s eyes welled up with perfectly rehearsed tears, her voice trembling just enough to sound genuine.
“Oh my god, Grandma… I didn’t expect you to have such true love for a man who didn’t even value you,” she sniffled, leaning closer to Bria.
Without hesitation, she wrapped her arms around the older woman in a side hug, resting her head lightly on Bria’s shoulder.
Bria’s stern expression softened ever so slightly at the show of sympathy, her hand gently patting Sienna’s arm.
“But don’t worry,” Bria said, her voice lowering, almost tender.
“You’re just like me, Sienna.
I won’t let any lowly woman without status take what belongs to you.” Sienna’s lips curled faintly into a smirk, though she kept her face hidden against Bria’s shoulder.
“Whenever I see you,” Bria continued, her tone distant as if reminiscing, “I see myself… back then.
You remind me so much of the girl I used to be.” Sienna lifted her head slightly, her eyes glimmering with satisfaction.
