Chapter 13: Chapter 11:She kissed me secretly
Hearing her resolute words, I knew I couldn’t persuade her further, so I sighed helplessly.
At that moment, Yan’er came out of the room, her eyes filled with tears, looking sorrowful, frightened by our talk.
I stood up and patted her shoulder to comfort her, but she unexpectedly buried her face in my chest and began to cry.
“Big brother, is the apocalypse really coming?” she sobbed. “I don’t want to die! I have so much left to do and see!”
“Don’t cry. Didn’t you say big brother is special? I have another cat friend who is a hundred times more powerful than me!” Hearing her cry so sadly, I felt a pang of sorrow but forced a smile. “As long as we take action, finding the relics will be easy, and we won’t let Earth be destroyed so easily!”
Yan’er knew I was lying, but hearing my words, she calmed down a bit and whispered through her tears, “Big brother, you must try your hardest! Otherwise, I will use my seductive arts to enchant you, but not let you touch me, making you die of lust!”
She couldn’t help but laugh coquettishly, but then blushed, imagining an intimate scene.
I laughed and said, “Don’t worry, big brother has many goals just like you, and I won’t let myself be burned by lust!”
At this moment, Daji sighed again from inside the room and said, “Yan’er, don’t bother our guest anymore. He has important matters to attend to, and you shouldn’t hinder him.”
Yan’er didn’t dare disobey and led me to the door, saying, “Big brother, don’t give up! From the moment I first saw you, I knew you were special. I believe you will succeed!”
She then gestured for me to come closer, indicating she had something to say in a whisper.
I leaned in slightly, but she suddenly kissed me on the cheek!
I quickly straightened up, blushing, and Yan’er laughed heartily at my reaction.
Hearing Daji call Yan’er from the room, Yan’er said, “Goodbye, big brother. Do your best!” She then turned and left.
I grabbed her small hand and said gratefully, “Thank you, Yan’er.”
Yan’er gave me a sweet smile and then closed the wooden door.
I sighed and went downstairs with a heavy heart, filled with disappointment and sadness.
I found Daji, but I couldn’t persuade her to join us. Now, I could only hope that Rahab would come in person and use the clever plan he mentioned to persuade Daji.
Fortunately, before I left, I quickly wrote my phone number in Yan’er’s palm.
Seeing Yan’er’s attitude towards me, I thought I wouldn’t lose track of them.
Upon going downstairs, I remembered that Rahab was still in Mong Kok investigating the source of the demonic energy. Finding the direction, I immediately opened my Devil eye and rushed over.
Since Daji lived in Sham Shui Po, which is close to Mong Kok, I quickly ran into the Mong Kok area.
Although it was already 8 p.m., the streets of Mong Kok were still crowded, making it difficult to find Rahab.
“Unfortunately, I don’t understand cat language, otherwise I could ask the cats where Rahab went,” I thought to myself.
With no better plan, I raised my demonic energy slightly, hoping Rahab could sense it.
Fortunately, after just a slight increase, I sensed Rahab’s demonic energy nearby.
Closing my Devil eye, I quickly followed the energy trail and found that the source of Rahab’s demonic energy was on the top floor of a shopping mall.
I took the elevator up and saw a notice inside, indicating that the top floor was under maintenance. I couldn’t help but wonder why Rahab was there.
When I reached the top floor, the elevator doors hadn’t fully opened yet, but the smell of blood hit me.

Before me was an entire floor of an empty mall. All the shops were locked, and it was dark, with only some streetlights providing faint visibility.
In the center of the mall, four people were in blood pools. I focused my hearing and found that only one of them still had a heartbeat.
“You’re quite late.”
Somehow, Rahab had already perched on my shoulder.
“Because I found Daji,” I said.
“Oh, really?” Rahab said indifferently.
“You found her, so why don’t you seem excited?” I asked, puzzled.
“You found her, but you haven’t persuaded her to come out of hiding, have you?” Rahab asked.
“Right… She said she was tired of living as a demon and just wanted to live quietly with her daughter,” I said. “It looks like you’ll have to persuade her yourself.”
“Hmm? Did you say she has a daughter?” Rahab’s face showed a hint of surprise.
“I don’t know if it’s her biological daughter, because the little girl’s appearance is not even a tenth as beautiful as her mother’s,” I said.
“Haha, it seems you were quite enchanted by Daji,” Rahab said with a sly smile.
Embarrassed by Rahab’s accurate guess, I quickly changed the subject and asked, “By the way, why are these people so badly injured? Were they attacked by a demon?”
“No, just a human with demonic energy,” Rahab said.
Every living being has a natural energy within them, which can be positive or negative. We generally refer to negative energy as “demonic energy.”
A human possessing demonic energy is usually because they are innately evil or have been in long-term contact with demons, causing their natural energy to turn into demonic energy.
A person with demonic energy can possess the Devil eye, as it operates by absorbing evil thoughts. Therefore, a human must have enough demonic energy to merge with the Devil eye. I am one of those naturally evil.
If the energy within isn’t demonic, using the Devil eye could result in the eye absorbing all their energy and causing death.
“Has that person already left?” I asked while walking to the side of the only survivor, who was barely alive.
When I examined his wounds, I realized he was the policeman whose pregnant wife was killed two weeks ago!
“The person with demonic energy is this man,” Rahab said from my shoulder.
“Him?” I was slightly surprised and then said calmly, “But he is really unfortunate. His wife was just killed, and now he’s seriously injured. But maybe it’s better this way, so he won’t be left alone in the world with regrets.”
“No, he won’t die,” Rahab said.
I was confused. Seeing the man’s severe injuries, it seemed he wouldn’t live much longer. But then I immediately understood Rahab’s meaning.
“Do you want to use a ‘blood pact’ to help him?” I asked.
Since demons generally have longer lifespans, they sometimes use a portion of it to make deals with the dying.
“You’re only half right. If it were just about saving him, I would have done it before you arrived. My point is, we should not only save him but also give him the ‘Eye of Reminiscence,'” Rahab said seriously.
“Give him the ‘Eye of Reminiscence’ too?” I asked in surprise.
“Yes, since you can’t overuse the Devil eye, it’s better to concentrate your power on the ‘Eye of Illusions’ that you’re proficient in, rather than spreading the usage between the eyes,” Rahab said. “Besides, having another companion is a good thing, especially since I can see his potential is on par with yours. Are you okay with this?”
“Well, you’re right,” I said, looking at the policeman groaning on the ground.
“Alright, hurry up. If he really dies, we don’t have the power of Jesus to bring him back to life,” Rahab urged.
I stopped talking, focused my energy, and opened the ‘Eye of Reminiscence.’ The bloody smell around me immediately became more distinct.
Suddenly, Rahab jumped off my shoulder and said, “Alright, I’ll leave this future companion to you. I’ll go find Daji. If she moves, we’ll have to start searching all over again.”
“Don’t worry. Call me when you’re done. I’ll probably be staying at a nearby hotel,” I said.
Rahab responded with a grunt and left without looking back.
