Chapter 38:Is the old man Also a Demon?
“No wonder it made me feel such intense desire earlier. Fortunately, Wukong didn’t use it against me,” I said.
“Yes, but that stinky monkey has improved significantly over the years. He even forced you to use ‘Hell,'” Rahab said.
“He’s indeed formidable. I had to use ninety percent of my power to subdue him. By the way, can his Devil eye ability transform at will?” I asked, recalling his troublesome transformation skills.
“Not entirely. His Devil eye is called the ‘Eye of Forms,’ and its ability is indeed transformation,” Rahab explained. “But the ‘Eye of Forms’ has a limitation: he must maintain eye contact with the person he wants to transform into for six days. In ancient times, a day had twelve hours, so six days equal seventy-two hours, which is the origin of the legend of the seventy-two transformations.”
“Interesting. But if that’s the case, I don’t have to worry about him turning into me,” I laughed.
Curious, Yan’er asked, “Did he really go to India with Tang Sanzang to retrieve the scriptures?”
“I’m not sure about that. He did follow Tang Sanzang to the West, but in the end, Tang Sanzang returned alone, while Wukong suddenly disappeared,” Rahab said. “When all the demons thought he was dead, he reappeared with significantly enhanced powers. But he never revealed where he went during those years.”
At this point, Rahab pointed with his tail and said, “Turn down that alley, and the third house on the left is the place.”
Following his directions, I found a clean white house with a faint smell of blood inside, indicating that Rahab had already cleared it out.
As I approached the door, it suddenly opened, and Zicheng peeked out, looking surprised to see us.
“Do you believe me now?” a desolate voice came from inside.
Hearing someone inside the house, I rushed in and saw two corpses lying on the sofa to the left, while an elderly man with flowing white hair sat in the center of the room.
The old man’s eyes were covered with a black cloth, and he leaned on a cane, looking frail and weak.
“Who are you?” I asked in a deep voice.
“Are you Bi Yongnuo?” the old man lifted his head towards me, responding with a question instead of an answer.
Strangely, despite his eyes being covered, and me not feeling his gaze at all, I suddenly felt as if he could see right through me.
At that moment, Rahab, who was on my shoulder, suddenly spoke, “Xiao Ming?”
“Long time no see, Xiao La,” the old man replied, indicating a long acquaintance with Rahab.
“What are you doing here?” Rahab asked coldly.
The old man calmly replied, “I am here because you have a question for me.”
Rahab sneered, “I swore I would never ask you anything for the rest of my life.”
As I was puzzled by their conversation, Zicheng walked over to me and whispered, “This old man arrived shortly after Rahab left, saying he would wait for your return.”
“Wait for us?” I asked, surprised.
“Yes. At first, I feared he might be from the Satan’s Cult, but seeing his advanced age, I let him in,” Zicheng explained, glancing at the old man. “But he does seem to have some skills. He told me to open the door just as you reached it.”
I laughed, “Maybe his hearing or sense of smell is exceptionally sharp, and he sensed us outside.”
But Zicheng shook his head, “No, he told me many things that I initially didn’t believe, but now it seems he truly has the ability to foresee.”
“Foresee?” I asked, intrigued.
“Yes, he described exactly what would happen when you entered the house. Look at your left foot; is there a small circle there? He told me you would stand there, so I marked it beforehand.”
I looked down and saw a small red circle under my left foot.
Amazed, I quickly looked up at the old man. He seemed to have anticipated this moment, turning towards me and saying, “Yes, this is the ability of my Devil eye, the ‘Eye of Foresight.'”

“Impressive!” I said with a calm smile.
I had been about to ask if his Devil eye had the power of foresight, but he answered before I could.
The old man turned back to Rahab, “Xiao La, don’t hesitate. I promised to answer three questions for you, and this time you will ask.”
Rahab sneered, “I said I wouldn’t, and I won’t.”
“No, you have too many doubts in your heart,” the old man said confidently. “Your first question is whether Bi Yongnuo is truly the reincarnation of Satan.”
Rahab stared at the old man, silent for a long time. His gaze, initially firm, gradually softened.
“Tell me, is he really Satan?” Rahab suddenly sighed heavily.
My heart sank. I never imagined Rahab would doubt my identity as Satan because of the Iron Mask Man’s words!
“Rahab, just because he says it, doesn’t make it true. This could be a ploy by the Satan’s Cult to sow discord,” I protested.
Rahab glared at me, about to speak, but the old man interrupted.
“Bi Yongnuo, if you are truly Satan, you wouldn’t fear my words. But if you are not the King of Hell, then even if I lie and say you are Satan, you will suffer when the end comes,” the old man said calmly.
I sneered, “Heh, go ahead and speak. If you lie, I’ll send you to the eighteenth level of hell.”
“The ‘Eye of Foresight’ only reveals the truth,” the old man said with a serene smile. He then lifted the black cloth slightly with his cane, and a surge of demonic energy began to roll out.
I was taken aback, for the old man’s demonic energy was even more sinister and overwhelming than Wukong’s!
“Zhuge Liang’s mouth speaks only the truth.”
The old man’s revealed Devil eye was as crimson as blood.
It seemed to have a life of its own, staring at me with a sinister gaze.
