Chapter 41:A trap set by Kong Ming and the others
“Next time? You need to find ‘Hell’ first,” Rahab said.
“Right, ‘Hell.’ What did Kong Ming mean by ‘Hell’?” I suddenly remembered Kong Ming’s words.
“The ‘Hell’ he mentioned is a soul container opposite to ‘Heaven.’ When people die, their souls leave their bodies. Souls are divided into good and evil. As people understand it, good souls are absorbed by ‘Heaven’ after death, while evil souls enter ‘Hell,'” Rahab explained, wagging his long tail.
“Then where is this ‘Hell’?” I asked.
“Like ‘Heaven,’ apart from knowing it’s a soul container, no one knows its shape, appearance, or location,” Rahab paused and then said mysteriously, “Except for one person.”
“Who? Kong Ming?” I asked.
“No, not him,” Rahab paused and said, “It’s Satan.”
“Satan? How would he know?” I asked, puzzled.
“I’m not sure, but he once told me that the most powerful move of the ‘Eye of Illusions,’ ‘Hell,’ was something he comprehended after seeing its true form. Kong Ming said you need to find ‘Hell’ first; perhaps that’s also a condition for becoming the complete Satan,” Rahab said, scratching his head with his paw.
“By the way, Old Cat, why do you hate Kong Ming so much?” I remembered the resentful look in Rahab’s eyes when he saw Kong Ming. There must be a lot of history between them.
But Rahab didn’t immediately answer my question. Instead, he looked up, his expression becoming incredibly complex, his eyes wandering over the sky.
I knew Rahab must be thinking about the past with Satan because every time he reminisced, his expression always showed infinite longing and sadness.
After a while, Rahab suddenly let out a heavy sigh.
“Unknowingly, two thousand years have passed,” Rahab looked back into my eyes, “Xiao Nuo, do you know the origin of the Seven Lords of the Demon Realm?” I shook my head.
All along, Rahab rarely mentioned the Seven Lords. I knew he must have his reasons, so I didn’t ask much.
“After the first Angelic War, Satan and the defeated angels were banished to Earth and stripped of their immortality by God. So, they had to feed on desires to survive. But at that time, there weren’t many humans on Earth, not enough to sustain thousands of demons. So, some demons started preying on other demons.”
Rahab looked at the stars and said, “Former companions began to show their ugliest traits to survive. Earth was in utter chaos then. Besides constantly inciting human desires, the battles among demons were fierce. But a problem gradually emerged. Humans can reproduce, so as long as we didn’t kill them all at once, desires could continue indefinitely. But demons are naturally infertile, unable to conceive. If we kept killing each other, demons would eventually go extinct.”
“Wait,” I suddenly interrupted Rahab, “Didn’t Daji give birth to Yan’er?”
“Daji wasn’t born a demon; she was originally a fox, so she could have children. But you must know, Yan’er is just naturally more demonic than others, but she doesn’t have Devil eyes, so she can’t be considered a true demon.”
“I see,” I said, enlightened.
“Hmm, so as soon as Satan realized this problem, he immediately gathered all the demons,” Rahab said. “When everyone was assembled, he announced something unexpected.”
“What was it?” I asked eagerly.
“He said he would grant each demon present a hundred years of energy.”
“A hundred years of energy!” I exclaimed.
“Yes, exactly a hundred years of energy. Except for me and a few other demons, everyone thought Satan had gone mad. There were at least ten thousand demons present, and to grant each one a hundred years of life force, Satan would need at least a million years of energy, which seemed impossible. But he let the demons absorb the energy one by one and then sealed a blood pact with them. Each demon who absorbed the energy was forbidden from feeding on desires for a hundred years, or they would die instantly, and the remaining energy would transfer back to Satan.”
As Rahab spoke, his eyes involuntarily showed disbelief, indicating that the events of that time still shocked him to this day.
“But what does this have to do with the Seven Lords?” I asked, puzzled.
Rahab glared at me and said, “Why are you so impatient? After the gathering dispersed, Satan secretly used a sound transmission to keep seven individuals behind. These seven would later become the Seven Lords.”
“Among these seven were you, Wukong, Samael, and Kong Ming?”

“Correct.” Rahab paused, a smile appearing on his face, and continued, “Satan kept us behind and told us that he hadn’t actually made a deal with those demons.”
“What!” I exclaimed in shock.
“Unexpected, right? He transferred the energy to the demons first and then sealed the blood pact because the pact only mentioned not feeding on desires for a hundred years. He didn’t actually give the energy to the demons. The demons felt an increase in power because Satan used the ‘Eye of Illusions,'” Rahab said with a smile in his eyes. “Satan’s reputation was so high that everyone believed his words without question. Who would have thought he would deceive us all? Once everyone felt their power increase, no one paid attention to the loophole in the blood pact.”
“Incredible, incredible. This way, the Earth could enjoy a century of peace,” I said, laughing.
Rahab nodded, “Yes, but after a hundred years, the world would descend into chaos again. So Satan had the seven most powerful demons, aside from himself, protect the seven human civilizations of the time to prevent humanity from being wiped out by demons. These seven were the Seven Lords, led by Samael.”
“I see. But why didn’t Satan protect them himself?” I asked.
“At that time, I had the same question. Satan said he had an unsolvable problem and needed to retreat into seclusion to ponder it,” Rahab said.
“An unsolvable problem for Satan? What kind of problem?” I asked.
“He didn’t explain it to us. He just said that if he could solve this problem, everything would end.”
“End? What does that mean?”
“I don’t know,” Rahab shook his head.
What did Satan mean by “end”? Could it be the end of the world?
I pondered silently for a while, unable to grasp the meaning, so I shook my head and said, “Continue your story.”
“Don’t guess blindly. If the seven of us couldn’t figure it out, you certainly won’t either,” Rahab glared at me and continued, “As Satan predicted, after a hundred years, the demons resumed their hunting. But they understood that if humans were wiped out, the demons would also face extinction, so they acted with more restraint. This situation persisted until about two thousand years ago…”
“Two thousand years ago? Until the Second Angelic War?” I asked.
Rahab nodded, “Yes, two thousand years ago, when the world was still full of conflict, Jehovah suddenly descended with his army without warning, catching us off guard. Fortunately, Satan emerged from seclusion just in time to lead us in battle. As I mentioned before, the battle was devastating for both sides due to their equal strength. In the end, Satan was tragically killed…”
At this point, Rahab’s voice revealed a faint sadness.
I suddenly understood that Rahab’s hatred for Kong Ming might be related to Satan’s death, as anything connected to Satan’s death always evoked his resentment.
“Rahab, was Satan’s death related to Kong Ming?” I asked tentatively.
“Yes. Xiao Nuo, did you know? Kong Ming, another of the Seven Lords, and I have been good friends since our creation. Due to our strange appearances, other angels kept their distance, but Satan was the only one who accepted us. He treated us like brothers, and his natural charisma and magnanimity won our hearts.”
Rahab closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and continued in a heavy voice, “Later, we assisted Satan in the creation of the world and were assigned to guard the Garden of Eden. Our bond with Satan was particularly close. We three swore to protect Satan forever. But that day, I will never forget that day…”
“You mean…?” I asked softly.
“The day Satan was killed.”
Rahab opened his eyes, revealing deep hatred, “That day, known to humans as the day Jehovah resurrected. By then, the war was nearing its end. Satan and Jehovah, feeling the heavy casualties on both sides, decided to have a one-on-one duel.”
“A one-on-one duel?” I asked in astonishment, “Why have you never mentioned this before?”
“Because when Satan arrived at the duel site, he found not Jehovah, not the angelic army, but a group of demons,” Rahab said painfully. “Accompanying Satan were only me, Kong Ming, Samael, and Rofocal. When we reached the agreed location and found it filled with demons, we realized it was a trap. A trap set by Kong Ming and the others!”
