Chapter 5: Chapter 3-3: An Unexpected Turn of Events
A metallic scraping sound suddenly came from Dad’s hand!
“Damn it!”
Rahab shouted and suddenly leaped into my arms with such force that it threw me straight into the corner of the room!
I cried out in pain, but before I could react, a deafening gunshot rang out!
“Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!”
Hundreds of silver trails whizzed past where we had just been, the powerful bullets tearing the door and windows to shreds!
I was stunned by the sight before me.
I couldn’t imagine what would have happened if we hadn’t escaped in time—how horribly mangled we would have been!
The entire room quickly filled with choking gray smoke, leaving nothing intact.
At that moment, a sharp pain suddenly shot through my arm.
“Ah!” I looked down to see three bloody scratches on my arm, and Rahab was glaring at me angrily.
“Still dazed, kid? Punch here!” Rahab pointed with his tail to a spot on the wall and then fixed his gaze on the door.
“Will punching this concrete wall stop all this?” I shouted angrily.
Although I was confused, I followed Rahab’s instructions, clenched my fist, and swung it at the wall with all my might.
With a loud “boom,” a two-foot-high hole appeared in the concrete wall where my fist had struck.
Seeing the hole, I was astonished by the power of my punch.
“Follow me!” Rahab said and then leaped down through the hole in a flash.
My home is seven stories high. I didn’t know if a cat could survive such a fall, but I knew an ordinary person would be shattered to pieces.
But now, I had no time to think. I could only hope that no demon ever died from jumping off a building.
“Damn it!”
I cursed and then leaped out. As soon as I jumped, my body plummeted straight down!
As I fell rapidly, the pressure made it hard to breathe, and I could barely keep my eyes open.
I forced myself to look down and saw passersby on the street looking up and talking about me.
As for Rahab, who had reached the ground before me, he was now sitting leisurely on a man’s left shoulder, wagging his tail.
That man was the same strange person who had given me the demon eye!
The man looked up calmly at me and only shouted when I was about to hit the ground, “Exhale and release all your strength onto the ground!”
Hearing his words, I exhaled all the air from my lungs but didn’t know how to release all my strength onto the ground.
Just as I was about to hit the ground, my legs instinctively straightened, and as I touched the ground, I bent my body accordingly.
“Bang!”

A loud noise accompanied my landing as the ground slightly caved in.
“Safe landing,” the man clapped and laughed. Only then did I notice that his left eye was perfectly intact.
“Hey, let’s go. This place isn’t safe,” Rahab frowned.
The man smiled without responding, got into the car next to him, and waved at me, “Get in. There’s no turning back now.”
I looked at him in confusion and then back at the hole I had punched.
Gray smoke was rising from the hole, and I could vaguely see Dad poking his head through, giving me a meaningful look before retreating back inside.
“Alright, I’ll go with you.” I sighed and finally got into the car.
As soon as the man stepped on the gas, the car sped away from the scene, leaving everything behind.
Today’s events had been too sudden, and as I sat in the car, my mind was in turmoil.
First, someone forcibly took out my eyeball and inserted a demon eye, turning me into a demon. Then I used my powers to create illusions for my classmates. When I got home, intending to absorb my dad’s lifespan, he suddenly seemed like a different person, trying to kill me without any warning!
All these years, I never thought Dad would have such a terrifying weapon, let alone use it to kill me!
“Damn it!”
I couldn’t hold back anymore and punched the car door with all my might!
The car door flew off like a frisbee, slicing a passerby in half at the waist!
The pedestrians on the street screamed and scattered in panic.
“Calm down!” The man kept one hand on the wheel and pressed my shoulder with the other, “I know you’re very upset right now, but venting like this won’t help!”
“You don’t know! How could you understand my feelings?” I shouted angrily, “How could so many strange things happen all of a sudden? The dad I’ve lived with for ten years suddenly wants to kill me without even asking why!”
As I spoke, I got so worked up that I couldn’t help but cry.
“I know. I’ve experienced things more unbelievable and harder to accept than you,” the man said calmly, looking at the road ahead, “It’s because we are demons, abandoned by God. The demon eye only brings more misfortune.”
“Really?” I wiped the tears from the corners of my eyes and looked at him blankly, “If I give the demon eye back to you, will everything stop?”
“No. What’s done is done, and there’s no turning back. Returning the demon eye to me won’t change anything. Besides, you’ll need the demon eye’s power for your future,” the man continued to look straight ahead, “And remember, we are never in control; the one above us is.”
“Are you saying that everything decided by God can’t be changed?” I sneered.
“Ordinary people and ordinary demons can’t defy him,” the man paused and said seriously, “But you, you have that potential.”
His words left me in shock, but when I looked at Rahab in the back seat, I saw him nodding slightly.
I sneered and leaned back in my seat with my eyes closed.
A strange man, a demon eye, a talking cat, a dad who suddenly wants to kill me, and now they say I can oppose God.
Everything is so absurd, so bizarre.
Slap!
I slapped myself, the burning pain confirming that I was still in the real world.
“Do I really have to go against God?” I asked weakly, opening my eyes.
“You must. Neither you nor I have a choice,” the man said, his tone still calm.
“Doesn’t that mean I’m just following his will?”
“It’s just not the right time yet. When everything reaches its conclusion, you’ll have the power to change the situation,” the man said confidently.
“Why me?”
“When the time comes, ask him yourself,” the man said, pointing to the sky.
I didn’t respond, just listened to the music playing
The car drove all the way to Chek Lap Kok Airport. We decided to catch a flight out of Hong Kong.
Even without my travel documents, boarding a plane was no challenge for demons, especially when there were more than one of us.
“Hello everyone, I’m Captain Louis. Welcome aboard this flight from Hong Kong to Cairo…” The plane started taxiing, and the captain’s voice echoed from above.
I sat by the window, watching as the plane gradually picked up speed and took off.
Sitting next to me was my master, Zhou Jingyuan. He said, “Take a good look. You won’t be back for a long time.”
I didn’t turn to look at him, just muttered “Hmm” and continued gazing out the window.
As the sun set, golden rays illuminated the bustling little city.
The dense buildings seemed to defy the setting sun, with many places already lit up even though dusk hadn’t fully settled.
“How presumptuous.”
I sneered and pulled down the window shade.
It would be four years before I returned to this place again.
