Chapter 48:Fight Erlang God
Yang Jian stood atop the head of his celestial hound, Howling Sky Dog, looking down with an air of supreme confidence. His handsome face radiated the aura of a conqueror.
Despite its massive size and single eye, Howling Sky Dog’s demonic gaze was remarkably expressive.
It must have been Howling Sky Dog who devoured the carriage earlier, but its slightly bulging mouth indicated that Miyamoto Musashi was inside, not swallowed.
“So, it’s Erlang God. No wonder you could capture Rahab,” I said with a smile, my mind racing to find a way to rescue Rahab.
“Indeed! Even Wukong of the Seven Lords fears me,” Yang Jian boasted, stuffing Rahab back into his embrace and waving his triple-pointed double-bladed long-hilt saber with a proud smile.
“Ha, but who is stronger, you or him?” I asked with a grin.
Yang Jian snorted coldly. “It’s a draw. Over thousands of years, I’ve fought that stinking monkey countless times, with victories and defeats on both sides, but never a decisive outcome.”
“I see. Speaking of Wukong, I just saw him yesterday,” I said with a smile.
“What? That guy showed up again! Where is he?” Yang Jian’s expression changed, and a hint of excitement flickered in his third eye.
“Why do you want to know?” I asked with a smile, subtly relaxing my body.
“That stinking monkey and I are mortal enemies. Since our battle centuries ago, he has disappeared without a trace. I’ve been training diligently, day and night, to settle our score. I really want to see how strong he is now,” Yang Jian said, blinking his Devil eye with a smile.
“Hehe, why don’t you fight me to find out?” I said with a smile.
“Hmm? What do you mean?” Yang Jian asked, puzzled.
“Because…” Before I finished speaking, I suddenly launched myself at Yang Jian like an arrow. “I once beat him into a complete mess!”
I attacked without warning, catching him off guard. Just as I was about to strike, a flash of silver light appeared before my eyes!
“Heh, when it comes to sneak attacks, you’re still inferior to that stinking monkey!” Yang Jian sneered, positioning his triple-pointed double-bladed long-hilt saber in front of his chest to block my capture move.
The cold air was chilling. I could faintly sense that his weapon was made of silver, so I quickly halted my attack to avoid the blade.
But this brief pause allowed Yang Jian to exploit the gap. His triple-pointed double-bladed long-hilt saber spun half a circle and slashed toward my waist.
I quickly bent my knees and leaped, narrowly avoiding the slash. My right hand, shaped like a tiger’s claw, aimed for Yang Jian’s third eye.
Seeing the imminent danger, Yang Jian swiftly changed his move, his spear suddenly shifting upward to block.
Although his move was slow, I was mid-air, with no leverage to move. I couldn’t counter in time and could only watch helplessly as the spear approached my body.
The silver blade easily sliced me from bottom to top, splitting me in two, but strangely, no blood spurted from my body.
Yang Jian was puzzled, sensing something amiss. As he searched for my trace, he suddenly felt a chill in his chest and heard my voice from behind him.
“Heh, it seems you still have some way to go compared to Miyamoto Musashi,” I said, standing three steps behind Yang Jian, holding Rahab in my arms.
In fact, during our conversation, I had been waiting for an opportunity to invade his mind.
When I mentioned seeing Wukong, Yang Jian’s excitement gave me the chance to enter his mental realm and impose a pre-conceived illusion on him.
From his fight with my illusion, it was clear that although Yang Jian was skilled, he was no match for me.
“When did you dodge? Your movements shouldn’t escape my Devil eye,” Yang Jian clicked his tongue in wonder, showing no urgency despite Rahab being taken.
“Don’t doubt your Devil eye. My stealth is due to my mastery of ninjutsu,” I laughed, snapping my fingers. Suddenly, dozens of identical clones appeared around Yang Jian, encircling him.

“Ah? I’ve been in Japan for so long and never seen such powerful ninjutsu. Is this an illusion?” Yang Jian asked with a relaxed smile.
The dozens of “me” clapped their hands and said in unison, “Exactly. But under my eye technique, illusion and reality are indistinguishable. As long as I can deceive your mind, it’s my world.”
“Heh, if these were real people, I’d be in trouble. But since you say they’re illusions, they can’t trap me, Erlang God!” Yang Jian sneered, suddenly whistling. The whistle seemed ordinary, but I felt a strange vibration underfoot. Howling Sky Dog raised its head and howled!
“Roar!”
Howling Sky Dog’s howl was earth-shattering, echoing to the heavens!
The deafening roar made my head spin and my vision blur. In that instant, all my clones vanished, and Yang Jian stood leisurely, holding Rahab.
“Heh, what a powerful celestial hound. Its howl is truly formidable,” I said with a smile, cursing myself for my carelessness in letting him reclaim Rahab.
“Haha, Howling Sky Dog’s howl can shake the mind. If a demon’s will isn’t strong, their eye technique will be instantly broken,” Yang Jian laughed, putting Rahab back into his embrace.
“I see. So, I just need to guard my mind and be prepared?” I said, releasing some of my demonic energy to strengthen my spirit.
“Heh, try it!” Yang Jian said, suddenly charging at me with his spear.
Though his speed wasn’t fast, I dared not be careless, knowing Howling Sky Dog would howl when Yang Jian approached.
Sure enough, as Yang Jian neared, the ground trembled, and Howling Sky Dog howled again.
Despite my preparation, the howl still made me pause!
“Howling Sky Dog’s howl is not easily resisted!” Yang Jian said, his spear inches from my chest.
I quickly gathered my demonic energy, forcing myself to move and leaping back. But even with my swift action, my chest was slashed.
The silver weapon’s wound burned intensely, the pain nearly making me faint.
Blood sprayed from the wound, staining my clothes red.
Landing on the train roof, I immediately dug out the wound to prevent further corrosion, but my chest still throbbed with pain.
“You underestimated the power of me and Howling Sky Dog,” Yang Jian said disdainfully from atop Howling Sky Dog.
“Two against one, what’s there to brag about?” I retorted, glaring at him, though inwardly acknowledging his prowess as Wukong’s rival.
“Howling Sky Dog and I are inseparable. If you think it’s unfair, there’s nothing you can do,” Yang Jian laughed. “Enough talk. If your companion wakes, it’ll be trouble. I’ll take ‘Spirit Flute’ and him. Farewell.”
With that, Howling Sky Dog spat out the carriage, but Miyamoto Musashi and ‘Spirit Flute’ were not inside.
“Wait, our fight isn’t over!” I shouted, leaping back onto Howling Sky Dog, but as I landed, Howling Sky Dog was already miles away!
I stood, watching Howling Sky Dog’s retreating figure, Yang Jian’s voice still lingering.
“In the coming days, be careful. Howling Sky Dog has your scent. Within a thousand miles, we can track you,” Yang Jian said, laughing.
“Yang Jian! Come back!” I shouted, chasing after them.
But Howling Sky Dog’s speed was simply too fast; in a moment, it had already vanished from sight. The bloody scent on the triple-pointed double-bladed long-hilt saber was also blown away by the strong wind generated by its run, making it impossible for me to track by smell.
“Don’t waste your energy. Howling Sky Dog can cover ten thousand miles in a day. I think only the ‘Twelve-Winged Angel’ Samael can outrun it,” Yang Jian’s arrogant voice echoed in my ears again.
“Three-eyed freak, if you dare harm a hair on Rahab, I will make sure you never find peace!” I shouted in a deep voice.
“Heh, I’ve already become a demon. Life and death mean nothing to me,” Yang Jian sneered, “Kid, the next time we meet will be the day you die. Take care of yourself!”
With that, Yang Jian fell silent. No matter how much I cursed, he did not respond.
After Yang Jian left with Miyamoto Musashi and Rahab, the surroundings returned to peace.
To think that Rahab, one of the Seven Lords, could be captured, and I could only watch helplessly as Yang Jian took him away. My heart was filled with frustration.
The more I thought about it, the angrier I became. Yang Jian’s strength wasn’t particularly high, but combined with Howling Sky Dog’s terrifying howl, I not only failed to rescue Rahab but also got slashed by Yang Jian’s silver blade, leaving me with a serious injury.
However, even though Rahab was in enemy hands, I wasn’t overly worried. Yang Jian had captured him but hadn’t killed him immediately. Perhaps he wanted to interrogate him, which meant Rahab’s life was temporarily safe.
As long as Rahab wakes up, with his resourcefulness, he should be able to escape even if he can’t turn the tables.
At this moment, I noticed an unusual silence around me. Returning to the carriage, I saw passengers sprawled everywhere, all foaming at the mouth and unconscious, likely unable to withstand Howling Sky Dog’s howl.
“Big brother…” A weak voice suddenly came from behind. I turned to see Yan’er leaning on a seat, looking exhausted.
“Yan’er, what’s wrong?” I hurried over to support her.
“Nothing much… Just that beast’s howl was too powerful. I resisted the first time, but the second time I couldn’t hold on and almost got internal injuries,” Yan’er said, forcing a smile despite her pale face. “Big brother, are you okay? What about Uncle Rahab?”
“I’m fine. Rahab was captured, but he should be safe for now,” I said softly, gently holding Yan’er and letting her rest on my shoulder. “You rest for a while. We need to get to the orphanage quickly to look for clues.”
With Rahab captured and Daji’s whereabouts unknown, I felt anxious but knew I had to stay calm.
“Hehe, it’s really comfortable being held by big brother,” Yan’er said, suddenly hugging my neck and kissing my cheek.
“Yan’er!” I frowned, feeling a flush on my face.
