Chapter 53: The priest’s animalistic behavior is inexcusable
“Big brother, what are you talking about?” Yan’er asked, frightened by Zicheng’s twisted expression, clutching me tightly.
I held her hand to comfort her and said, “The priest had ill intentions towards the girls in the orphanage. This girl committed suicide after being raped by him.”
Yan’er gasped and said, “Oh no! Sister Yuko might be in danger.”
“What danger?” Zicheng asked urgently, grabbing Yaner’s shoulders.
“When I left, I sealed sister Yuko’s pressure points to prevent her from waking up in the middle of the night and finding me gone…” Yan’er said softly, and Zicheng’s face grew more and more grim.
“Let’s go. We might still be able to stop that pervert in time,” I said, lifting Yan’er in my arms and turning to Zicheng. “Run back to the orphanage. The first to arrive will go to Yuko’s room, and the other will go to the priest’s quarters.”
Seeing Zicheng nod in agreement, I immediately activated the “Eye of Illusions,” summoning demonic energy, and sped towards the orphanage.
Even with Yan’er in my arms, my movements were swift and smooth.
The sound of the wind whistled in my ears as I ran. After a while, the orphanage came into view.
But at that moment, a red light suddenly shone on the ground beside me.
I turned around and was shocked to see that Zicheng had already caught up with me.
Judging by the evil thoughts the priest had when he saw Yuko and Yan’er, he was sure to seek release tonight.
If he saw Yuko alone and unable to move, he would surely harm her.
Zicheng and I agreed that the first to arrive would go to Yuko’s room to avoid him seeing her being violated. Since Zicheng had recently become a demon, if his emotions fluctuated too much, he might go berserk.
To my surprise, in his rage, Zicheng unleashed his demonic energy to the fullest, temporarily matching my speed.
“Only a week of training, combined with his anger, and he can already match my speed?” I thought, astonished as Zicheng followed closely behind me.
Fortunately, the orphanage was just ahead, and Zicheng had no intention of overtaking me. So, I was the first to leap over the gray-white wall.
“Big brother, you ran so fast just now that Yan’er could hardly catch her breath,” Yan’er said, sticking out her tongue.
“Heh, sorry, but big brother had to reach the orphanage before Zicheng. Otherwise, things would get complicated,” I laughed, setting her down.
Following our agreement, I headed towards Yuko’s room under Yan’er’s guidance.
To avoid alarming others, we slowed our steps, moved quietly, and held our breath as we reached Yuko’s room in the girls’ dormitory.
But just as Yan’er was about to open the door, I realized there was no heartbeat inside.
“Damn it…” I muttered, frowning.
“Yuko isn’t here!” Yan’er exclaimed as she opened the door, revealing an empty room.
Just as I was about to speak, an unusual surge of demonic energy emanated from nearby.
It’s Zicheng!
I recognized the demonic energy as Zicheng’s, but the amount released was far greater than usual.
Although I had never seen a demon go berserk, I feared that my worries had come true.
“Big brother, is something wrong with brother Zicheng?” Yan’er asked, seeing my serious expression.

I looked in the direction of the demonic energy and nodded. “Yes, stay here. I’ll go check.” With that, I ran towards the source of the energy.
As I got closer to the priest’s quarters, I began to sense not only demonic energy but also a strong killing intent and fear.
I followed the demonic energy out of the dormitory, past the church, and finally arrived at a small house in front of the cherry blossom garden.
It was late autumn, and the garden was filled with bare cherry trees. However, there were spots of red on the ground in front of the house. Upon closer inspection, I realized they were bloodstains.
“Zicheng!” I hurriedly opened the door, only to see Zicheng, shirtless and covered in blood, standing over the priest, who was lying on the ground.
The old priest’s face was being stomped on by Zicheng, and he was groaning in pain. He wasn’t wearing pants, and his private parts were a bloody mess, apparently trampled by Zicheng.
Yuko is naked and wearing Zicheng’s shirt, then trembling and huddled by the bed, crying pitifully.
“Xiao Nuo, you’re here,” Zicheng said, his voice trembling as he looked at me, though his gaze remained fixed on the priest. Despite the overwhelming demonic energy, his speech was calm.
“Zicheng, are you okay?” I asked as I approached.
“I’m fine. The blood is his,” Zicheng shook his head, still not looking directly at me.
“Zicheng, your demonic energy is like a flood. You should calm it down,” I said.
Zicheng nodded, and the malevolent energy around him subsided significantly.
Seeing that he hadn’t gone berserk, I felt a weight lift off my chest.
“Xiao Nuo, I want to kill him, but I also don’t want to kill him,” Zicheng said, looking up at me after retracting his demonic energy. His face was filled with rage, but tears glistened in his eyes.
I understood that Zicheng was torn between killing and not killing.
His demonic nature wasn’t deep, and his conscience wasn’t entirely lost. Although the priest’s actions were unforgivable, Zicheng still didn’t want to take a life. He wanted to spare the priest but couldn’t.
The old priest, hearing Zicheng’s words, immediately begged for mercy: “Zicheng… no, don’t kill me! I was momentarily tempted by the devil to do those things. Please… please don’t kill me… ah!”
Before the priest could finish, Zicheng stomped on his teeth, breaking them all.
“Tempted by the devil? Let me tell you, I am the devil! You beast in human form, you claimed it was God’s will when you assaulted Nanako, and now you want to blame your sins on the devil rather than admit them!” Zicheng snarled, grinding the priest’s head under his foot. “Nanako and Yuko saw you as a father, but you ruthlessly harmed them. Even if I don’t kill you today, I’ll make you wish you were dead!”
“No! No! Wait, Zicheng, it’s my fault. I’ve repented! Please, forgive me! For Fumiko’s sake, please don’t kill me,” the old priest cried, invoking Zicheng’s late wife.
Hearing the mention of his wife, Zicheng hesitated, loosening his grip.
Seeing his words had an effect, the priest quickly continued, “Zicheng, I truly regret my actions. For the sake of God and Fumiko, spare me. I’ll change my ways, I promise. Fumiko’s spirit wouldn’t want you to kill anyone!”
“Why did you keep making mistakes? When Nanako begged for mercy, why did you ignore her?” Zicheng shook his head, tears streaming down his face as he spoke in anguish.
“I know, I was blinded by desire, but I promise you, I’ll turn over a new leaf. I’ll never have evil thoughts about women again! God as my witness, if I have any wicked thoughts, may I never find salvation and be condemned to hell!” the priest swore, seeing Zicheng’s tone soften.
Zicheng stared at the priest’s blood-stained face, hesitating for a moment before closing his eyes in deep thought, torn between letting him go and not.
After a while, Zicheng slowly lifted his foot off the priest’s face.
“Do you truly repent?” Zicheng asked, seemingly moved by the priest’s words.
The priest, freed, quickly knelt on the ground, tears and snot streaming down his face as he pleaded, “Yes, I truly repent!”
Zicheng stared at the priest in silence for a moment, then shook his head and said, “I don’t trust you, but if you make a blood oath with me to never touch another girl, I’ll spare you.”
Hearing Zicheng’s offer of mercy, the priest hurriedly agreed without asking what a blood oath entailed.
Zicheng sighed deeply, then bit his finger and let a drop of blood fall onto the priest’s wound. “Now, I make a blood oath with you. If you ever harm another girl, your life will be forfeit. Do you accept?”
“Wait!”
Yuko, who had been silent on the bed, suddenly cried out, “Don’t trust this beast! Sister Fumiko was also…!” Yuko stopped mid-sentence, terrified by the sight of the rolling eyeball on the ground.
“You beast, you even raped Fumiko…” Zicheng said, looking at the priest with a cold voice. He stomped down hard, crushing the priest’s head, preventing him from begging for mercy any further.
Seeing the priest’s deformed face, Yuko was about to scream. I quickly stepped forward and pressed her sleep acupoint to prevent her from alarming the other orphans.
The priest, whom we had always trusted, was not only a beast in human clothing but had also violated Zicheng’s wife. Zicheng faced too many sudden events in one night, pushing his emotions to the brink of collapse.
Zicheng suddenly knelt down, muttering weakly, “Ruoru… I killed this beast… I’m sorry, I couldn’t tolerate anyone defiling you…”
“This kind of beast deserves to die. Your wife wouldn’t blame you,” I said, patting his shoulder to comfort him, but the touch felt strangely soft.
“Xiao Nuo, I feel very uncomfortable after killing him…” Zicheng said, burying his head in his lap, his voice muffled as if wrapped in cloth.
Sensing something was wrong with Zicheng, I grabbed his shoulders to make him face me, but his appearance shocked me.
“Xiao Nuo, I’m in so much pain…” Zicheng said, his expression unclear whether he was crying or laughing, as his face started to melt like a burning candle, dripping away.
