Chapter 57: Chapter 55: Helpless lies let Yuko die
I stood up and walked to the bedside, where I saw Yuko lying quietly, wearing only a shirt. Her expression was somewhat pained, as if she was having a nightmare.
“That’s right, I had put her to sleep with an acupoint.” I suddenly noticed several bloodstains on the sheets, evidence of the director’s vile actions.
Yuko’s virginity had been taken by the director, whom she had always regarded as a father figure. Even if she managed to rebuild her life, she would likely never escape the shadow of this trauma.
“Rather than living like a walking corpse, it might be better for her to leave this world and find solace in a nonexistent embrace.” I gently wiped the bloodstains on the bed with my fingers.
Yuko was somewhat innocent, but many formidable enemies awaited me. If I couldn’t unify the demon realm, the third angelic war would surely lead to the extinction of the demon race. Therefore, I needed enough power to face the challenges ahead, no matter what.
Although Yuko’s death might further demoralize Zicheng.
“But perhaps this would further awaken Zicheng’s demonic nature.” I said as I unlocked Yuko’s acupoint.
I gently massaged Yuko’s philtrum, and soon she let out a faint moan and slowly woke up.
Yuko blinked her eyes groggily, and upon seeing me sitting beside her, she jolted awake and asked in alarm, “Who are you?” She quickly realized she was naked and hurriedly grabbed the sheet to cover herself, turning her head away in panic.
“Don’t you remember? I’m a friend of Zicheng.” I smiled and moved a bit further away.
“A friend of Brother Zicheng… Ah… You’re Mr. Bi, right?” Yuko said timidly, still not daring to look directly at me. Perhaps the earlier trauma had left her mind a bit confused, and it took her a moment to recall.
I nodded and asked with a smile, “Yuko, do you remember what happened before you fainted?”
Recalling the assault, Yuko’s face showed immense pain. She clutched the sheet tighter and began to sob, tears streaming down her face. “I remember… I remember.”
“But don’t worry, the director is already dead.” I pointed to the headless corpse on the floor and smiled.
“He, that scoundrel, is finally dead… That’s great… Ha… Haha.” Yuko laughed as she looked at the director’s body, but there was no joy in her laughter.
“Yes, just as you wished,” I smiled at her, “Zicheng killed him with a single step.”
Yuko suddenly shuddered.
“What… what are you saying?” Yuko stammered.
I didn’t answer, just smiled and walked to the desk, turning on a small lamp.
The dim yellow light illuminated Yuko’s pale, uneasy face.
“Earlier, when Zicheng was about to forgive the director, you suddenly mentioned Zicheng’s wife, saying, ‘Don’t trust this beast! Sister Fumiko was also raped by him…’ What exactly did you mean? What did the director do to Fumiko?” I squinted my eyes and looked at her with a smile.
In fact, I knew Yuko was lying when Zicheng was about to spare the director, but the situation was too sudden for me to intervene. Besides, I had my own thoughts on the matter.
Zicheng had always shown little demonic nature, retaining a sense of righteousness, but this benevolence was detrimental to our future actions. This time, by killing the director, who was very important to him, it would surely help deepen his demonic nature.
Yuko seemed uncomfortable, deliberately avoiding my gaze and whispering, “The director… he once assaulted Sister Fumiko…”
“You’re lying.” I smiled, but my tone wasn’t accusatory.
“I… I’m not lying!” Yuko said urgently, her face red with anger, but beneath her angry words was the sound of her rapid heartbeat.
“No, you lied to Zicheng,” I chuckled. “Zicheng is soft-hearted. Hearing the director’s tearful pleas, he wanted to let him go. But you hated the director to the core, so you deliberately lied, using Zicheng’s beloved wife to provoke him, hoping he would kill the director for you.”
“What proof do you have?” Yuko’s eyes were panicked, but she tried to appear calm.
“I can read people’s thoughts,” I laughed. “When Zicheng killed the director, you immediately felt regret because the director had raised you for over a decade, like a father. So, when he died, you felt sorrow, didn’t you?” Although I couldn’t read minds, as a demon, I was skilled at guessing people’s thoughts.

Yuko’s thoughts were clearly exposed. She covered her ears and closed her eyes, crying out in pain, “I don’t know! I don’t know! I hate him, I hate him for defiling Sister Nanako!”
“Yes, you hate him because he assaulted Nanako, causing her to become pregnant; tonight, he repeated his crime and violated your purity,” I said calmly. “But you also know you can’t bear to lose him. Abandoned by your parents, you faced endless loneliness, but he gave you a happy childhood.”
“No! That demon! He brought us happiness only to destroy it with his own hands! He doesn’t deserve my love; he doesn’t deserve to be my father!” Yuko cried, her emotions collapsing.
Ignoring Yuko’s outcry, I continued, “No, he does deserve it. Without him, you’d be a helpless orphan. He gave you not just food and shelter, but joyful memories and two sisters. Although he caused Nanako to take her own life, deep down, the director still loved you. Think about the past decade, were your days in the orphanage happy or sad? Imagine if he were removed from your past, what would it be like?”
“I don’t know… I don’t know…” Yuko covered her face, crying, but clearly recalling her memories.
“Yuko, your two sisters are gone. The only remaining family member, whom you killed with your malicious lie, is also gone. The three most important people in your life are all dead, leaving you alone, forever lonely.” I knew Yuko’s heart was shattered. With her family gone, she would feel utterly lost.
Yuko didn’t argue anymore, just lowered her head, crying continuously.
“Think about the future. When you encounter joy, there will be no one to share it with; when you face difficulties, you’ll have no one to comfort you. You used to be cared for, but now you’ll face all your emotions alone. It’s painful, isn’t it? But this is your doing because you killed the director who raised you for over a decade.” With that, I fell silent, watching her.
Yuko continued to cry, her face blank, her eyes lifeless.
My goal was achieved.
After a while, Yuko muttered, “Kill me.”
“Hmm? Why would I kill you for no reason?” I smiled.
To my surprise, Yuko suddenly became agitated, grabbing my collar and crying, “Please, kill me! Please…”
I held her hand and smiled, “Killing is illegal; I don’t want to go to jail.”
Yuko seemed not to hear my words, her eyes vacant, repeating, “Now it’s just me… Now it’s just me! Nanako, Fumiko, you’re all gone. I don’t want to live anymore! Kill me, kill me!”
I knew Yuko had lost her sanity. To avoid mistakes, I smiled and said, “Yuko, if I said I could bring Nanako, Fumiko, and the director back to you, but at a great cost, would you be willing?”
Yuko’s eyes immediately regained their sparkle. She nodded repeatedly, crying, “I would! If I could see them again, I’d pay any price!”
“Even your entire life?” I asked tentatively.
Yuko’s eyes were firm. “Yes!”
Hearing her answer, I smiled gently and said, “Yuko, they’ve always been by your side. Since their deaths, Nanako and Fumiko’s souls have been watching over you, and the director has forgiven you.”
“Really? Where are they?” Yuko exclaimed in joy, looking around. Suddenly, she felt a tap on her shoulder. Turning, she saw Nanako and the others sitting by the bed.
The three, dressed in white, their figures ethereal, smiled warmly at her.
“Sister Nanako, Sister Fumiko… Director, you’re really here, watching over me…” Yuko cried, her face full of tears, overwhelmed with emotion.
Nanako’s soul nodded, opening her arms to embrace Yuko.
“Don’t leave me again.” Yuko closed her eyes, leaning into Nanako’s nonexistent chest, feeling the warmth of a family that wasn’t there.
“Maybe when your soul is absorbed by ‘Heaven,’ you’ll meet them again,” I said, putting away the “Eye of Illusions,” looking at the smiling Yuko.
Yuko didn’t respond, just held the long white pillow, her smile warm.
I watched Yuko’s body for a while, then gathered my thoughts and sat down to absorb the energy I had just taken.
I didn’t feel guilty for taking Yuko’s life because I knew she wasn’t a strong girl and still had feelings for the director and her past life.
Yuko had clearly known the truth about Nanako’s suicide for a long time, but she didn’t report the director’s monstrous actions to the police and continued to stay by his side. She deliberately lied to provoke Zicheng into killing the director because she had just been violated by him.
If time could go back, I believe she wouldn’t say that lie again because, as an orphan abandoned by her parents, she deeply understood the sorrow of living in loneliness.
After the initial grief and anger, returning to reality and suddenly realizing that all her loved ones had left her, I think there was nothing left in the world that she could hold on to.
Yuko had at least sixty to seventy years of life energy. If she had to live in pain for most of a century, I think she might choose to leave this world.
“So, rather than committing suicide in the future, it’s better to give me a life that is destined to be devoid of joy.” With that, I exhaled a breath of turbid air and slowly opened my eyes. The energy consumption today was significant, but after absorbing Yuko’s life force, I felt completely revitalized.
Looking up at Zicheng, I saw that his body had returned to its original state, though he was still unconscious.
Zicheng’s body was still very weak, but his demonic energy had been temporarily replenished. Once he woke up, he would need to find food.
Speaking of which, I couldn’t imagine how Zicheng would react if he saw me drag everyone in the orphanage into ‘Hell,’ so I needed to quickly dispose of the evidence.
