Chapter 60: Chapter 58: Enemy or friend?
Hearing this, I gasped. Although I had guessed this monk was one of the Seven Lords, I never expected his power to be so close to Rahab’s. During training in Egypt, I had witnessed Rahab’s terrifying power in his true form. This monk, with nearly equal strength, was not to be underestimated.
“No wonder you’re so impressive,” I said to Rahab. “You knew he was the president of the Demon Slayer Association and that Yang Jian was a member, so you pretended to be unconscious to let him take you to their base, right?”
Rahab nodded, “Yes, Yang Jian’s eyes are sharp. To avoid his suspicion, I didn’t use telepathy to communicate with you.”
“I understand.”
Rahab looked at the black-robed monk and continued, “After we met, we talked about you. This guy didn’t believe you were Satan reincarnated and took his weapon to challenge you. I tried to stop him, but couldn’t.”
“Heh, with your ability, how could you not stop him? You wanted to test my strength again, didn’t you?” I glared at Rahab and sneered.
Rahab didn’t deny my accusation, just squinted and smiled.
I snorted, feeling a bit annoyed. Since hearing the Iron Mask Man and Kong ming’s words in Florence, Rahab’s attitude towards me hadn’t changed much on the surface, but I knew he doubted whether I could become Satan. Now, this black-robed monk not only didn’t acknowledge me as Satan but also threatened to take my Devil eyes. This made me angry.
“No matter what, I must put this monk in his place to vent my frustration,” I thought, and quickly came up with a plan.
“Hey, monk, you said you don’t acknowledge me as Satan. What do you think qualifies me?” I suppressed my anger and asked the black-robed monk with a smile.
“Heh, someone who can’t even touch my robe’s corner talks about qualifications?” The black-robed monk sneered.
Ignoring his taunt, I smiled, “You said you only used seventy percent of your power just now, right?”
“So what?” The black-robed monk looked at me puzzled.
“Heh, then use all your strength to block this attack!” I shouted and suddenly disappeared from my spot.
“Hmph, ignorant child!” The black-robed monk remained calm, shaking his hands forward. His long staff turned into a silver dragon, trying to intercept my attack.
But I was furious, and my anger transformed into power, increasing my speed significantly. Although the black-robed monk’s whip attacks were dazzling, I could still dodge them with ease.
I advanced through the gaps in the whip’s movements, and despite the monk’s increased speed, he couldn’t stop my thunderous momentum.
In an instant, I was only a short distance away from the black-robed monk.
I raised my fist and was about to strike down.
“Bi yongnuo, don’t be so arrogant!” The black-robed monk, as calm as ever, suddenly summoned his Devil eyes, trying to use their power to disrupt my mind.
But when he looked up at me, his face showed a look of surprise.
“Heh, the arrogant one is you, stinking monk.” I smirked, unaffected by his powers, and my fist landed heavily on his rugged face.
The monk’s surprised expression twisted under the force of the blow.
When the monk summoned his Devil eyes, I had already used my foot to flip out the sunglasses hidden at my waist, positioning the lenses between our gazes.
Due to the unique construction of the sunglasses, the Devil eye’s power was blocked. In other words, my emotions were unaffected by his Devil eyes.
My fist was fueled by pure anger.
The heavy blow turned the monk’s head half a circle, making his face face backward in a bizarre manner.
Having landed a successful hit, I initially planned to follow up, but hearing no sound from his neck bones when his head turned, I knew something was wrong and quickly leaped back.
Sure enough, just as I leaped away, the monk’s two Devil eyes on the back of his head opened, and his giant hands slapped the spot where I had been, smashing the sunglasses to pieces.
For anyone else, having their neck twisted like that would render them immobile, if not dead, due to the broken neck bones.

But the black-robed monk just sneered, twisting his neck back to its normal position.
“Hahaha, good boy, you really hit me,” the monk said, his face red with a large bruise, his eyes seemingly spitting fire. But he laughed in his rage, not attacking immediately.
Seeing his furious expression, I felt a sense of satisfaction. “So, monk, you have eyes on the back of your head?” I asked Rahab, patting the dust off my clothes and adjusting my breath secretly.
“What’s this talk about eyes on the back of my head? I’m not human by nature, so my joints are naturally different from ordinary people,” the black-robed monk said, rubbing his neck as if the previous blow hadn’t hurt him at all.
“Monk, are you willing to take back your words and admit that I am Satan?” I asked with a smile.
“Heh, just one punch? Changing my mind isn’t that easy,” the black-robed monk laughed heartily. “But your cunning is not bad. For now, I’ll leave the ‘Eye of Illusionss’ with you. When the time comes, I’ll take them.”
“Ha, if you have the ability, go ahead,” I said arrogantly, but I could sense that the monk’s opinion of me had slightly changed due to that punch.
“A monk does not lie. Taking that Devil eye from you would be a piece of cake,” the black-robed monk said, clasping his hands together with a smile, though his tone was still haughty. The anger from earlier had vanished without a trace.
I let out a cold laugh, about to retort, when suddenly, a deep, resonant voice called out from behind me, “Godfather, someone is approaching through the woods.”
Startled, I turned around sharply and saw a dark figure standing steadily on the cross atop the church. It was Miyamoto Musashi.
Miyamoto Musashi, dressed in black samurai attire, blended almost seamlessly with the night. If it weren’t for the faint red glow from his Devil eyes, I might not have spotted him.
His face was expressionless, the Devil eyes emitting a strange light as he stared into the distance. His body seemed uninjured, and it appeared his wounds from earlier that morning had healed.
Caught up in my fight with the black-robed monk, I hadn’t noticed Musashi’s presence. If he had launched a sneak attack during my battle with the monk, I wouldn’t have been able to dodge.
Thinking of this, I broke into a cold sweat, silently warning myself to always be aware of my surroundings.
The black-robed monk, seemingly Musashi’s godfather, asked, “How many people?”
“Sixty-four, all members of the Satan’s Cult,” Musashi’s voice came again.
“Satan’s Cult?” The black-robed monk’s eyes filled with hatred, and he sneered, “Musashi, kill them.”
Without responding, Musashi disappeared from the cross.
Moments later, there was a commotion in the woods, followed by silence.
“They’re all dead,” Musashi’s figure reappeared on the cross.
The black-robed monk nodded, then closed his eyes, lifting his head slightly as if sniffing something.
“The blood… it smells like ordinary humans. It seems none of them were demons,” he said with his eyes closed.
Curious, I sniffed the air but couldn’t detect anything unusual. There wasn’t even a hint of blood.
“Don’t be silly. Little Cer’s nose is more sensitive than mine. No matter how much you sniff, you won’t find anything,” Rahab mocked.
I glared at Rahab but secretly admired the monk’s abilities.
Despite our advantageous position, the orphanage was at least a mile from the woods, yet the monk could still sense the activity there. It was impressive.
“Heh, my sense of smell is just a bit stronger than yours. In other aspects, Rahab, you still surpass me,” the black-robed monk laughed, then turned serious, “We should leave here quickly.”
“Why?” Rahab asked.
The monk sneered, “Although the Satan’s Cult members were ordinary humans, there were sixty-four of them. For a typical Satan’s Cult operation, that’s a lot. Clearly, our movements have been discovered.”
“So what? With the two of you, even facing hundreds of demons wouldn’t be a problem, right?” I said with a smile.
The monk looked at me and laughed, “Heh, you’re right, kid. But I’m afraid what we might attract isn’t just hundreds of demons but someone far more powerful.”
“Who? The leader of the Satan’s Cult?” I asked, frowning.
“No, it’s Samael,” Rahab said, swishing his long tail.
Samael.
When I encountered him at the Satan headquarters, I couldn’t even see his movements, let alone defend against his attacks. Even Rahab, after a fierce battle, was severely injured, managing only to stain Samael’s white robe with a bit of blood.
“Samael is just one of the Seven Lords. Is he really that powerful?” I murmured.
“Heh, his power isn’t just great,” the monk laughed, “It’s terrifying.”
“Even if you two join forces, you have no chance of winning?” I asked, puzzled.
“Of course we have a chance,” Rahab said with a calm smile. “If we go all out, we have a fifty percent chance of defeating him. But now is not the time.”
“Why not?” I pressed.
The monk waved his hand, interrupting us, “Let’s leave here first. If we draw him here now, it will disrupt our plans.” He then looked up at Musashi and said, “Musashi, let’s return to the temple. Check those Satan’s Cult members for anything unusual.”
“Understood. I’ll be right behind you,” Musashi said, disappearing again.
After Musashi left, I suddenly remembered Yan’er’s safety and quickly asked the monk, “Monk, where’s the little girl who came with me? Where did you hide her?”
The monk didn’t answer but grinned, “Heh heh, watch out!” He suddenly swung his right hand, and the silver staff extended rapidly.
“What are you doing?” I shouted, dodging to the side.
To my surprise, the monk’s target wasn’t me but a small house behind me.
With a “bang,” the silver staff effortlessly punched a large hole in the wall.
“Catch!” the monk said, retracting the staff. The tip of the staff, which had entered the house, now carried two people: a man and a woman, Zicheng and Yan’er.
