Chapter 70: Chapter 68: One of the original Seven Lords
Upon hearing my question, Rofocal began to tremble all over, his face showing intense fear. He remained motionless for a long time before slowly nodding.
“So, I guessed right,” I said with a cold smile.
“First, he made Samael relinquish the position of Satan’s Cult leader, then he imprisoned one of the Seven Lords, Rofocal. And Rofocal is so terrified just hearing his name,” Yang Jian said, frowning. “This new Satan’s Cult leader is no ordinary person.”
“Of course not. After all, he is the reincarnation of Satan,” I said with a smile.
Although Rofocal wasn’t subjected to any physical torture, being imprisoned in this small box day and night, unable to stretch his body, and with his eyes gouged out, living in complete darkness and silence was hardly better than death.
After thinking for a while, Yang Jian said, “I can’t understand why Samael would keep this Iron Mask Man around and even give him the position of leader. Satan was killed by Samael, so keeping him is like nurturing a potential threat.”
“The Iron Mask Man is clearly like me, not yet at Satan’s full power. That’s probably why the arrogant Samael feels safe keeping him around,” I said, touching my chin and looking at the box still covered with a black cloth. “These three glass boxes contain the corpse of ‘Hell’s King’ Satan, one imprisons Rofocal, one of the Seven Lords, but the last one is filled with nothing but flies. It’s really strange.”
Just as I finished speaking, Yang Jian suddenly exclaimed, “What did you say is in that box?”
I looked at him, slightly puzzled, and said, “Flies, just flies.”
Upon hearing my words, Yang Jian immediately walked to the box and tore off the black cloth, revealing the glass box full of flies.
I looked at Yang Jian and asked curiously, “What’s the matter? Is there something special about it? I’ve looked at it several times, and it seems to be just an ordinary box of flies.”
Yang Jian didn’t respond to me but cautiously observed the glass box. After a while, he suddenly reached out and lightly tapped it.
The flies inside the box were agitated by Yang Jian’s tapping and started buzzing around wildly in the confined space.
The flies buzzed chaotically for a while, but nothing else happened. Just as I was about to ask, the flies suddenly dispersed, forming a circular empty space.
In that space, a pale, gray face of a man suddenly appeared!
The man inside the box looked lifeless, as if he had been dead for a long time. His eyelids were sunken like Rofocal’s, indicating his eyes had been gouged out.
Though the man was handsome, his grayish, shining skin, combined with flies constantly crawling in and out of his nose and mouth, made his appearance horrifying.
“There’s another corpse hidden in this box!” I exclaimed in surprise. But as soon as I finished speaking, the face suddenly opened its eyelids!
“Ah!” Yan’er screamed in fright, grabbing my arm as she saw the corpse-like figure suddenly open its eyes.
Countless flies flew out of the eye sockets, and the man’s eyelids twitched. Then, the flies that had been on the edge of the circular space moved away, making the empty space larger.
The box was already small, and with the flies making room, it became even more cramped.
But no matter how crowded it was outside the circle, none of the flies entered the empty space, as if the man had the ability to control them.
At that moment, a few flies suddenly broke through and settled in a specific spot, remaining still.
I watched for a while and realized the flies were forming letters. It seemed the man’s tongue had also been cut off.
“Who?” The word formed by the flies appeared in the empty space.
“I am Yang Jian, second son of Cerberus,” Yang Jian said.
Upon hearing this, the man suddenly laughed, but his laughter was so hoarse that it was uncomfortable to hear.
I frowned and whispered to Yang Jian, “Who is this man?”
Yang Jian turned to me with a complex expression and said, “He is Beelzebub, one of the original Seven Lords who went missing thousands of years ago, known as the ‘Lord of the Flies’!”

“This gray-faced man is one of the seven lords?” I asked, puzzled.
Rahab rarely mentioned the seven lords, and I had never heard of Beelzebub.
“Beelzebub was one of the original seven lords, but he was believed to have died two thousand years ago,” Yang Jian said, frowning as he looked at the gray-faced man in the box. “The second angelic war was extremely fierce, and many demons died unexpectedly. The most shocking of these was the death of ‘Lord of the Flies’ Beelzebub.”
“Because he had the ability to control flies and sense through them, he was often sent by Satan to gather intelligence. One time, he was sent to spy on the angelic army but never returned. Given his abilities, he should have been able to escape unscathed, but after a while, there was still no news of him. So, we assumed he had been discovered by the main forces of the angelic army and killed.”
“But now he appears alive, so it seems he encountered Samael back then, not the angelic army,” I said, looking at the man before turning to Yang Jian. “Was Beelzebub close to Satan?”
Yang Jian thought for a moment and said, “Not particularly close, but his relationship with Samael was very poor.”
“Why is that?”
“Because Samael is extremely fastidious, and Beelzebub was always surrounded by flies. Samael found him very dirty and despised him,” Yang Jian recalled.
I stroked my chin and said, “So, Samael might have targeted Beelzebub to weaken Satan’s power before rebelling against him.”
Yang Jian nodded and said, “Based on the current situation, that seems likely.”
I nodded and, seeing Yan’er beside me, suddenly realized something. “The seven lords were once replaced. Was it because Beelzebub went missing?”
“Yes. During the second angelic war, the angelic and demonic armies were evenly matched. To avoid demoralizing the troops, Satan and the other lords considered hiding Beelzebub’s disappearance. But after thinking it over, Satan decided that the truth would eventually come out, and lying to the demons would only give the angels an opportunity to spread the news. So, they decided to announce Beelzebub’s death. However,” Yang Jian continued, glancing at Yaner’s confused face, “Satan also offered a reward, saying that anyone who performed outstandingly in the war could fill Beelzebub’s position as one of the seven lords.”
“This would stabilize morale, boost their spirits, and reveal hidden talents among the demons. A brilliant move,” I praised.
“Yes, although the position didn’t come with real power, being one of the seven lords was a testament to extraordinary strength. And being a direct subordinate of Satan, the leader of all demons, was a supreme honor for most demons,” Yang Jian said, pausing before turning to Yaner. “Your mother, Daji, was one of the best in terms of strength and appearance. No demon could surpass her. She killed many enemies and achieved great feats, nearly becoming one of the seven lords. But in the end, Samael rejected her because she wasn’t a pure demon.”
Yan’er smiled and said, “It’s okay. Mom lived a good life without being one of the seven lords.”
I patted Yan’er’s head and asked Yang Jian, “So who eventually took Beelzebub’s place?”
“Hmph, the position was eventually filled by one of Samael’s direct subordinates. Although that guy did achieve remarkable feats, Satan was already dead by then, so his status wasn’t widely recognized by the demons,” Yang Jian said with a cold smile.
“A direct subordinate?”
“Yes, but I heard that guy suddenly betrayed Samael twenty years ago and has been missing ever since. He might have been eliminated by Samael,” Yang Jian said.
I glanced back and said with a smile, “Well, it’s not surprising. Samael is always capricious. Otherwise, Rofocal and Beelzebub wouldn’t both be trapped in this strange place.”
Yang Jian nodded in agreement. Just as he was about to say more, Beelzebub controlled the flies to form words in the empty space.
“Why… are… you… here…?” I read out the fly-formed words softly and then replied loudly, “Senior, we came here to rescue you.”
This was, of course, a lie. But Beelzebub, being one of the former seven lords, still possessed significant power and influence despite losing his Devil eye.
Beelzebub’s dark gray lips curled into a faint, cold smile, indicating his disbelief.
The tiny flies moved again.
“Who… are… you?”
“I am Bi Yongnuo, a disciple of Rahab,” I said sincerely.
Upon hearing Rahab’s name, a trace of surprise flashed across Beelzebub’s face.
“Did… he… send… you?” The flies slowly repositioned.
“Yes, Rahab learned from a Satan’s Cult member that you were here, so he sent us to rescue you,” I said. Beelzebub’s flies suddenly dispersed and regrouped.
“Crippled… person… why… rescue?”
“Senior, you must have been trapped here for a long time and are unaware of the outside world,” I said seriously, leaning closer to the cabinet. “Most of the demons in the world have been imprisoned by Samael.”
Beelzebub frowned, and the flies regrouped to form words: “Why… do… this?”
“I don’t know Samael’s purpose,” I shook my head and continued, “but their Devil eye have been gouged out and stored in the same room where you are now.”
Beelzebub trembled, his frown deepening, and the flies inside the cabinet flew faster.
“He’s… mad,” the flies formed the words again.
“Senior,” I asked in a probing tone, “do you know why he’s doing this?”
For some reason, I felt that Beelzebub might know something.
Perhaps his imprisonment here was related to this.
