Chapter 75: Chapter 73: Musashi’s confidence
“Damn it!”
Panic surged through me, but just as Samael was about to hit me, I felt a tightness around my throat. My vision blurred, and a powerful force pulled me backward, narrowly avoiding Samael’s attack.
As I steadied myself, I reached for my neck and felt something furry. Looking down, I saw a sleek, black cat tail.
“Kid, snap out of it! You can’t afford to lose your life at this critical moment,” a voice came from my shoulder.
Though the voice was cold and emotionless, it brought a warm feeling to my heart.
I couldn’t help but smile slightly and said, “Don’t worry, I still need to bring down the one above. I won’t die before you, stinky cat.”
Rahab just snorted and focused on observing the fight between Musashi and Samael.
I also calmed my mind and turned to watch.
Samael was circling Musashi rapidly, forming a white ring, but he hadn’t made a move yet.
Musashi, knowing he couldn’t match Samael’s speed, chose to defend, wielding his wakizashi with precision.
“Heh, you talked big earlier, but now you’re just hiding like a coward!” Samael taunted as he ran, his pace quickening. “With your skills, you won’t even touch my robe!”
“Samael, don’t speak too soon,” Musashi said coldly. “The real show is yet to come… hmph!”
Before he could finish, Samael seized the moment when Musashi’s movements slowed slightly and struck like a venomous snake, slicing a large chunk of flesh from his right arm!
Though injured, Musashi didn’t cry out in pain, only grunting softly.
“Hehe, unhappy that I took a piece of your flesh? Here, take it back!” Samael mocked, throwing the piece of flesh at Musashi.
As the flesh touched Musashi’s blade, it was quickly shredded into pieces.
“Your boasting earlier was impressive. Why are you silent now?” Samael continued his cold taunts.
Having learned his lesson, Musashi didn’t respond, focusing on wielding his wakizashi.
“You said you could handle me with just a short sword, right? Then isn’t your idle left hand as useless as garbage?” Samael’s face filled with killing intent as he sneered. “Let my ‘Eyes of Binding Spirits’ render it useless forever!”
With that, Samael accelerated, and multiple afterimages of him appeared around Musashi. After a moment, these merged into four distinct figures.
These four figures moved slowly but in reverse, a sign of Samael’s extreme speed!
Suddenly, the four figures reached out towards Musashi, each with a different attacking angle!
“How is this possible? The four afterimages should move identically, but now they show four different techniques?” I exclaimed, unable to comprehend the mystery.
“He’s changing techniques every moment,” Rahab explained from my shoulder. “His speed creates an illusion, making it seem like four separate entities attacking independently. But it’s just him switching techniques rapidly.”
I thought for a moment and understood. “So, Musashi doesn’t need to fear this. It’s just a trick.”
“Heh, a trick at its peak becomes a deadly move,” Rahab sneered. “Though Samael can’t execute four techniques simultaneously, his speed makes it seem so. Even Satan couldn’t block all four moves.”
“So, he’s been circling Musashi to gradually increase his speed,” I said, surprised. “This move is incredibly powerful.”
“Indeed. As the leader of the Seven Lords, each of his attacks is lethal. One strike is deadly, let alone four,” Rahab said, then used a secret technique to communicate with me. “But it seems Musashi has a powerful move hidden. Look at Cerberus and Yang Jian.”
I turned to see Cerberus and Yang Jian standing calmly, weapons in hand, showing no intention of intervening.

I watched and felt a sense of unease.
“Could it be that Miyamoto Musashi’s Devil eye has some special ability that can counter Samael?” As I was pondering this, the Satan’s Cult leader suddenly spoke from behind me, “Hey, did you all forget about me?”
I quickly turned around and saw the Satan’s Cult leader casually playing with the ‘Spirit Flute,’ looking completely at ease.
Before I could speak, Rahab interjected, “Perfect timing. I have many questions for you.”
“Oh? Let’s hear them first. My temperament is quite similar to Samael’s. Let’s see if I’m interested in answering,” the Satan’s Cult leader said with a playful attitude, looking at the two of us with a smile.
Ignoring the malice in the Satan’s Cult leader’s words, Rahab stared at him and asked seriously, “Why clone Satan?”
“Use your small brain a bit more. I’m just a clone; why ask me?” The Satan’s Cult leader looked at Rahab with a mocking tone.
Rahab sneered, thought for a moment, and then asked, “Then why are you and Yongnuo the only normal-looking clones while the others are monstrous?”
“Because those are failures,” the Satan’s Cult leader said, twirling the ‘Spirit Flute’ in his fingers with a smile.
“Failures?” Rahab frowned.
“Yes, you should know that the number associated with Satan is ‘666’, right?” the Satan’s Cult leader said.
“The number of the beast? So what? It’s just because the blood totem on Satan’s chest happens to resemble the ancient Hebrew number ‘666’, leading to such legends,” Rahab said, puzzled.
“No, it’s not a mere coincidence; it was predestined,” the Satan’s Cult leader said seriously, his smile fading.
Rahab, still confused, asked, “What do you mean by predestined?”
“I mean that only the number ‘666’ can bring about Satan’s rebirth,” the Satan’s Cult leader said with an eerie tone, “because it is a bond set by God during the creation of the world.”
Rahab and I exchanged puzzled glances, unable to comprehend the meaning behind the Satan’s Cult leader’s words.
“Look at these glass tubes; they contain half-human, half-demon monsters,” the Satan’s Cult leader pointed to the surrounding tubes, the blue light casting a sinister glow on his face. “But you and I grew up perfectly fine. Do you know why?”
“No,” I said, and Rahab shook his head.
“The key lies in the number ‘666’,” the Satan’s Cult leader said with a meaningful look.
“The Satan’s Cult has a long history of cloning technology. With technological advancements, they can now clone any animal with an 80% success rate. Despite having such mature cloning technology, all clones created from Satan’s blood were deformed monsters,” the Satan’s Cult leader explained.
“What are you trying to say?” Rahab asked impatiently.
The Satan’s Cult leader glared at Rahab and continued, “The scientists of the Satan’s Cult couldn’t find the reason for the cloning failures. However, when they used the same technology to create the 665th clone, it grew into a perfect human.”
I looked at him and asked, “So, you are the 665th clone of Satan, right?”
Earlier, he had pointed to the glass tubes numbered ‘665’ and ‘666’, saying they were where we were born. He seemed slightly older than me, so he must have been born before me.
“Yes, I am the 665th clone of Satan,” the Satan’s Cult leader said with a smile, though I noticed a strange look in his eyes.
“If you were a successful clone, why did they create me?” I asked, confused.
“Heh, it’s a human obsession with numbers. They needed one more to reach the number ‘666’, the true number of the beast,” the Satan’s Cult leader sneered. “The scientists saw me as an almost complete product and created you to fulfill the legend.”
“But you mentioned something about the ‘bond of 666’ earlier?” Rahab asked, looking puzzled.
“Yes, I meant that all previous cloning failures were predestined. Only the critical number ‘666’ would result in a successful clone, the true Satan,” the Satan’s Cult leader said seriously. “And I am that chosen one!”
The Satan’s Cult leader’s words left Rahab and me astonished.
“I don’t understand. Didn’t you say you were the 665th clone?” I asked, puzzled.
“Yes, I am the 665th clone of Satan. But,” the Satan’s Cult leader looked at me and sneered, “I am not the 665th Satan.”
“Not the 665th… Ah!” I thought for a moment and then realized.
Though the Satan’s Cult leader was the 665th clone, if we include the original Satan, Lucifer, he would indeed be the 666th Satan!
Though I had guessed this crucial point, I hesitated to say it out loud.
I didn’t know how Rahab would react upon hearing it.
But Rahab, with more experience than me, surely understood it too.
“So, according to you, you are the true reincarnation of Satan?” Rahab looked at the Satan’s Cult leader and then at me with a complex expression.
I heard the heaviness in his tone, and my heart raced.
“Yes, I am the reborn ‘beast’ from the prophecy!” the Satan’s Cult leader said coldly, looking at me. “And you are just a coincidental success!”
The 666th Satan is the true King of Hell.
If this is true, then what am I?
Was the true reincarnation of Satan decided from the beginning of the cloning research?
“Wait!” I looked at the Satan’s Cult leader sharply and said, “If only the 666th clone can survive, why did I grow up successfully?”
“That’s simple. You weren’t created from the original Satan’s blood but from my cells,” the Satan’s Cult leader sneered. “This twist nullified the bond.”
“But didn’t you just say we were both created from Satan’s blood?” I looked at him suspiciously.
“Heh, I am Satan, and Satan is me,” the Satan’s Cult leader sneered at me. “You really are trash, unable to understand such a simple thing.”
“No, you’re lying. You’re hiding something,” I said, feeling that his words didn’t fully add up, though his heartbeat remained steady.
The Satan’s Cult leader looked at me with a slight smile but didn’t speak.
“Enough!”
Rahab suddenly shouted, “This talk of ‘665’ and ‘666’ is tiresome! Since there can only be one Satan, you two should fight to the death now. The survivor will be Satan!”
With that, Rahab leaped off my shoulder, and as he descended to my waist, his cat tail suddenly whipped, pushing me forward with great force.
“Don’t worry. I’ll assist you,” Rahab’s voice suddenly entered my mind.
Caught off guard by Rahab’s unexpected push, I stumbled forward several steps.
Now, the Satan’s Cult leader and I were only a few steps.
