Chapter 85: Chapter 83:Daji’s attack
Standing beside her, Xiang Yu coldly said, “Nine-Tailed Fox, stop talking nonsense…” Before he could finish, Daji attacked again!
It seemed Daji had deliberately engaged him in conversation to discern his position. Her hand moved like lightning towards Xiang Yu’s throat.
This time, Xiang Yu didn’t dodge but gently redirected his spear, aiming its tip at Daji’s attack, intending for her to cut her hand on it.
Everything happened in a split second. I wanted to warn her but was too late. However, Daji seemed to regain her sight; her hand softened, bypassing the spear, still targeting Xiang Yu’s throat!
Xiang Yu snorted, his demonic energy flaring as his body turned black, then he vanished in front of Daji.
By the time Daji realized he had moved, Xiang Yu was already standing behind her, spear pointed at her back!
This time, I clearly saw Xiang Yu’s technique. His body was absorbed by his shadow when he turned black and simultaneously reappeared from Daji’s shadow!
“Hehe, the Chu Overlord’s skills have improved. Not only has my ‘Eye of Allure’ lessened in effect, but your mastery of the ‘Shadow Manipulation’ and ‘Sight Stealing’ techniques is also superb!” Daji turned gracefully, smiling at Xiang Yu without fear.
“Since you know, there’s no point in wasting effort,” Xiang Yu said, retracting his spear. “I’m only here to guard Rahab and have no other orders. You should leave.”
“No,” I said firmly, breaking my silence. “I’m taking him with me.”
With that, I dashed towards Rahab!
“It’s useless,” Xiang Yu said coldly from a distance, making no move but closing his eyes.
I ignored him and continued running towards Rahab. Suddenly, my vision went black.
This darkness wasn’t due to the lights going out but because my sight was taken away!
From Daji’s earlier words, I had guessed Xiang Yu’s Devil eye abilities. The “Shadow Manipulation Eye” allowed him to move through shadows, while the “Sight Stealing Eye” could temporarily blind others.
I didn’t know how he activated his Devil eyes, but his sudden appearance behind me and his evasion of Daji’s attack were proof.
Despite the sudden blindness, I wasn’t alarmed. I had memorized Rahab’s position and leaped towards it.
However, when I landed, I felt solid ground instead of Rahab’s furry body.
“I told you, it’s futile,” Xiang Yu’s cold voice came from in front of me.
My vision suddenly returned, and the first thing I saw was Xiang Yu’s mocking face. Looking around, I realized I was back beside Daji, still far from Rahab!
Xiang Yu laughed, “My ‘Shadow Manipulation Eye’ can move others as well.”
Xiang Yu’s Devil eyes were perfect for combat. Normally, Daji and I could have overcome his restraint and rescued Rahab, but we were both weakened and couldn’t exert our full strength. Attacking again would be futile.
Hearing Xiang Yu’s taunt, I wasn’t angry. Instead, I calmly asked, “Xiang Yu, are you an undercover agent for the Demon Slayer Association?”
As soon as I said this, a flash of silver appeared before my eyes!
I had anticipated that Xiang Yu might attack upon having his identity exposed, so I quickly ducked, narrowly avoiding the spear.
Daji reacted swiftly, grabbing my collar and leaping back.
“Oh dear, Chu Overlord, you’re an elder. How can you be so ruthless to the younger generation?” Daji set me down, smiling faintly. “Though we can’t take Rahab from you, it’s not easy for you to kill us either.”
Xiang Yu ignored Daji. After his failed strike, he didn’t attack again but studied me for a moment before laughing heartily.
“Heh, you really are Satan reincarnated!” Xiang Yu laughed. “How did you guess my true identity?”

“I infiltrated this base with a few core members of the Demon Slayer Association. Besides retrieving the ‘Ark,’ they were also looking for their missing undercover agent,” I explained, knowing my guess was correct. “The society’s Three-Eyed God, Yang Jian, mentioned that the agent was his sworn brother, and the society’s leader, Cerberus, referred to the agent as ‘Yu.'”
“I had no clue about the agent’s identity until Daji told me you were Xiang Yu in the central control room. Then I realized you were the agent. First, your era was between Yang Jian and Miyamoto Musashi. Second, your name ‘Yu’ matches the agent’s name. Third, Cerberus’s four sworn brothers are all ‘Eye Gods’—Howling Sky Dog with one eye, Miyamoto Musashi with two eyes, Yang Jian with three eyes, so the remaining ‘Eye God’ must have four eyes.”
I deliberately mentioned figuring out his identity in the control room to make him think Zicheng and the others outside the cell knew as well, making killing me pointless.
“Legend has it you, like Shun, had ‘double pupils,’ and the red lines under your eyes are clearly a pair of Devil eyes, confirming my guess,” I said, smiling at Xiang Yu. “Only someone of your skill and wisdom could undertake such a challenging mission and be sworn brothers with Yang Jian and Musashi. All these clues point to you, the Chu Overlord.”
Xiang Yu listened to my explanation, nodding as he did so, but his expression remained calm and unsurprised. After I finished, he said indifferently, “You’re right. I am the ‘Four-Eyed God’ of the Demon Slayer Association.”
“In that case, we are allies. Cerberus and the others are very concerned about your safety, Chu Overlord. Why don’t we leave together?” I suggested, deliberately omitting the fact that Cerberus had already defected to the Satan’s Cult.
“No, I won’t leave,” Xiang Yu refused without hesitation. “And you can’t take Rahab either.”
I was taken aback, having assumed that revealing his identity would make Xiang Yu agree immediately. But he refused without any hesitation.
I was stunned for a moment, then asked, “Why?”
“Because my mission isn’t complete yet,” Xiang Yu slowly walked back under Rahab, sat cross-legged, and looked at me. “Until then, I have to stay here.”
Xiang Yu’s eyes were resolute. I knew that no matter what I said, I couldn’t persuade him, so I was at a loss for words.
“Chu Overlord, you’re so heartless,” Daji walked over to Xiang Yu, wrapping her soft, boneless body around his shoulders. Her rosy lips brushed his ear as she coquettishly said, “How about we make a deal? If you let Rahab go, I’ll do one thing for you, hehe!”
“Get off,” Xiang Yu said sternly. His “Shadow Manipulation Eye” glared at Daji, and in the next instant, she appeared behind me.
“Hmph, if you don’t want to, just say so. Silently moving me away, you’re so annoying, Chu Overlord!” Daji pouted, turning her head away from Xiang Yu.
“Stop wasting your breath. If you take Rahab away now, you’ll only alert Samael,” Xiang Yu said seriously, stroking his chin and looking at me. “Rahab risked his life to severely injure Samael and the Satan’s Cult leader, giving you a chance to escape. Don’t waste his efforts.”
“I will leave,” I said firmly. “But I will take Rahab with me!”
“Bi Yongnuo, don’t be selfish and make things difficult for me,” Xiang Yu raised his eyebrows. “I was ordered to guard Rahab. If you take him away, I can’t continue being an undercover agent.”
“Heh, still undercover?” I sneered. “Your dear foster father has already betrayed you and joined the Satan’s Cult.”
Xiang Yu wasn’t surprised by my words. Instead, he mocked me, “Heh, you’re too naive.”
“What do you mean?” I asked, frowning.
“I have only one thing to say,” Xiang Yu’s four tiger-like eyes stared at me, smiling. “The situation is not as simple as you think.”
I looked at him in confusion. From his words, it seemed that Cerberus hadn’t simply defected. But recalling his shocked and moved expression when he saw the Satan’s Cult leader “darken” in the underground chamber, it seemed genuine.
“Give up on taking Rahab away! Although Samael and the Satan’s Cult leader are injured, they will recover much faster than Rahab,” Xiang Yu said seriously. “Moreover, Rahab’s large size makes it difficult to move him and easy to spot. You won’t get far before they find you.”
I knew Xiang Yu wasn’t exaggerating, but I couldn’t just leave Rahab behind.
Sensing my determination, Xiang Yu said, “I understand your concern, but if you keep delaying, Samael’s ‘Seven Sins’ will arrive, making it much harder for you to leave.”
“The ‘Seven Sins’?”
