Chapter 99: Chapter 97:The ‘Witch of the Night,’ Lilith.
“The actual pursuit of that demon only lasted the first hundred years. After that, the witch hunts were merely the European Church using the momentum of the initial hunts to eliminate dissidents,” Daji said.
“Ha, that makes sense,” I nodded. “So, what was the demon’s fate?”
“During those hundred years of pursuit, the demon used the ‘Bloodlust Eye’ to turn many affected individuals into killers who murdered the witch hunters. Most of these hunters were human, so their descendants harbored great hatred towards the demon,” Daji said, her gaze returning to the street outside. “So, when the Demon Slayer Association finally captured the demon, they locked him in an iron cage and publicly executed him at one of their branches.”
“The demon was burned alive in front of countless hateful and excited eyes. Burned to ashes,” Daji sighed softly. “I was there, witnessing the end. The iron cage was deformed and twisted by the fire, and the demon was completely reduced to ashes, leaving no trace of the Devil’s eye.”
I could sense a deep sense of regret in Daji’s sigh, so I asked, “Senior, did you know that demon?”
“Yes, we were close friends,” Daji nodded, her eyes filled with sorrow. “Because we were among the few female demons.”
“The demon was a female?” I asked in surprise.
“Yes. In fact, her name is recorded in many ancient texts. You must have heard of her,” Daji said.
“Who was she?” I asked.
“She was known as the ‘Witch of the Night’…” Daji suddenly stopped speaking and pointed out the window.
“Look, young master!”
Following her finger, I saw that the lights on the streets and buildings at the edge of the town were inexplicably going out, clearly losing power, and the darkness was spreading towards the city center!
“What’s happening?” Zicheng also noticed the abnormality, his expression turning serious.
Pop.
The lights in our room suddenly went out, plunging us into darkness. At the same moment, three sinister red lights flashed.
“Everyone, be careful. The enemy is coming,” Daji whispered, having activated her “Eye of Allure,” and pulled Yan’er behind her.
Zicheng and I had already activated our Devil’s eyes the moment the lights went out, entering a state of alert.
The city, now without power, was like a dead town, pitch black and silent, with only the faint moonlight casting eerie shadows. We stood in a triangle formation, with Yan’er and Hayashi Junko in the center, maintaining high vigilance. But after a long wait, there was still no movement around us.
“Is the enemy really coming? Could it just be a power outage?” Zicheng asked in a low voice.
“No, I sensed a burst of demonic energy when the lights went out,” Daji whispered. “It was fleeting, but I am certain of it.”
Knock, knock, knock.
Suddenly, there was a knocking at the door.
Who could it be? Aimana?
I used my demonic energy to enhance my hearing and heard many heartbeats outside the door.
“Why are there so many people gathered outside our door?” I said, frowning.
“Should we answer it?” Zicheng, who was closest to the door, asked.
I turned to look at Daji, who was staring intently out the window, seemingly not hearing Zicheng’s question.
I thought for a moment and said, “Check through the peephole first.”
Zicheng nodded, gripped his gun, and quietly approached the door, peering through the peephole.

“Young masters, activate your demonic energy!” Daji suddenly shouted.
I turned sharply and saw a shocking scene outside the window.
The streets and moon were covered by a tattered black cloth, which, upon closer inspection, was actually a swarm of countless bats!
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
A series of sharp breaking sounds erupted as the massive swarm of bats shattered the windows and swarmed into the room, flying chaotically!
I quickly activated my demonic energy, trying to repel the bats, but inexplicably, the energy that usually frightened animals had no effect on these bats. They continued to bite and scratch us fearlessly!
Bang!
A heavy sound suddenly came from behind me!
“Little Nuo, watch out! They’ve broken in!” Zicheng shouted, firing his gun rapidly, the room filled with the continuous sound of gunshots!
With the bats obstructing our vision, I could only vaguely see many people outside the door, punching and kicking, shouting wildly, their emotions frenzied as they tried to break in!
Their expressions were identical to the giant’s when he suddenly gained strength, clearly affected by the ‘Blood Condensation Seeds’!
I knew the demon must be nearby, waiting for an opportunity. Just as I was about to help Zicheng, Daji suddenly shouted loudly.
Her voice was high-pitched and sharp, not human but a fox’s cry!
Instantly, it seemed as if an invisible wall formed around us, and the bats that had been flying wildly in the room no longer dared to come near.
I realized that Daji had used her fox cry to drive them away.
“Hehe, little Daji, well done!”
A soft female voice suddenly came from outside the door.
Then, Zicheng, who had been resisting the bloodthirsty individuals, was suddenly thrown back by a tremendous force!
Seeing this, I quickly reached out to catch him, but the force was so great that I almost got knocked over.
As I steadied myself, a shadow swiftly rushed into the room, grabbed Daji, and leaped out the window!
“Mom!” Yan’er cried out, wanting to chase after them, but the two had already fallen to the street below.
Without Daji’s fox cry, the bats resumed their chaotic flight, filling the room. With Zicheng thrown back, the bloodthirsty individuals eagerly poured into the room.
“Zicheng, grab Junko and jump down!” I shouted, having made a quick decision, and rushed forward to grab Yan’er, intending to jump out the window.
But just as I was about to leap, Zicheng suddenly shouted from behind, “Little Nuo, stop him!”
Hearing Zicheng’s words, I knew there was another enemy, but I didn’t turn around. Relying on my demonic instincts, I sensed the enemy’s position.
To the left!
“Stay here!” I channeled my energy into my hand and grabbed forcefully towards the direction, catching an arm!
“Too bad you grabbed the wrong person!” A sly voice echoed from mid-air.
I saw a thin man holding Hayashi Junko, grinning as he leaped towards the street, while the one I caught was just one of the bloodthirsty individuals.
“Ruo Ru!” Zicheng shouted anxiously and also jumped down to the street.
I tossed the bloodthirsty individual behind me and said to Yan’er in my arms, “Hold on tight!” With that, I gathered my energy and leaped out of the window.
The hotel was only five stories high, and in the blink of an eye, we were on the street. Without power, the street was pitch dark, but fortunately, the bats seemed instructed to cause chaos only in the room and did not follow us down. Using my Devil’s eye, I could see my surroundings clearly.
“Big brother, look!” Yan’er pointed ahead and shouted.
Not far away, two shadows, one black and one white, were intertwining rapidly. Focusing my gaze, I saw that Daji, in white, was fighting a person in black. Zicheng stood anxiously in front of them, while the thin man and Hayashi Junko were on the other side, accompanied by another man.
Yan’er and I quickly walked up, but as soon as we stood beside Zicheng, we felt a gust of wind brushing our faces, causing a slight pain on our skin.
It turned out that the speed of the two fighters was so fast that their movements created a small whirlwind, making it difficult for anyone to get close.
After a while, suddenly, we heard Daji exclaim, and the black and white shadows rapidly separated.
As soon as Daji stood still, Yan’er immediately walked up, but Daji waved her hand to signal her to stay back and said seriously, “Yan’er, stay away for now.”
Yan’er, always obedient, although worried about Daji, didn’t say much and quickly moved behind us near a car.
At this point, I could clearly see that the person who had been fighting Daji was a little girl who appeared to be around Yan’er’s age.
The girl had extremely delicate and beautiful features, with well-defined contours, but her skin was extremely pale, devoid of any blood.
Not only did the girl have long black hair, but she also wore a luxurious black shiny dress. Even her lips, nails, and eyes were all pitch black, which made her pallid skin even more striking.
She looked like an incredibly lifelike doll.
Standing in front of her companion, the girl looked at us with an innocent smile, completely unlike a demon who could match Daji in combat.
“Senior, she…” I asked softly.
“She is the demon I mentioned earlier, the one with the ‘Bloodlust Eye,’ known as the ‘Witch of the Night’…” Daji looked at the girl in disbelief, her voice a bit emotional.
“My name is Lilith.”
The girl smiled sweetly at me and said, “The ‘Witch of the Night,’ Lilith.”
Her pitch-black eyes revealed a depth that contrasted sharply with her innocent appearance. From her chest, a Devil’s eye opened vertically, resembling a living red gemstone.
The eerie red light flickered continuously.
