Chapter 429: Arachneas – City of Silk Part 1
In the end, sometimes, the solution to a problem is far easier than one might expect. This applied to the people of Aracheas, the army formed by Asura, and the people of Silvara. Rather, because of his actions and the events prior, and created the easiest victory that Asura might have enjoyed without even lifting a finger directly.
The Arachne are a beautiful yet mysterious race that was both loathed and loved by the world.
Their silk, once processed, formed the global trade of high-grade silk, surpassing that of silkworm farming because their threads were improved drastically with each time they evolved a stage higher.
They are known for their lower bodies and share various similarities to the average spider and the beauty of a humanoid upper body that matches the elves.
Though some may find them disgusting or fearsome because of their arachnid lower bodies, usually most of them spend time in a half-Arachne state with their extra legs sprouting from their black and having a beautiful, sleek surface rather than the irritating hairs on a spider.
‘To think that me going berserk would be seen by their scouts and cause those that betrayed the queen to flee, even the monsters from other clans upon hearing the news and seeing that battle left in all directions…’
That’s right, because of Asura’s deformed transformation the traitors misunderstood. A spider is a keen hunter able to sneak through the forest and nature without issue.
Thus the small type and medium type Arachne were adept with both magic and tracking skills, some even using their webbing as a sonar.
The eight eyes of the arachne didn’t function like normal spiders—although they could perform the same features. There was more to them than most people knew.
‘Magic Vision…’
A type of eyesight that could perform the same abilities as high-powered binoculars and also able to detect magic levels and aura from miles away. This mechanism, originally for hunting, also made for a perfect defensive tool for the smaller bodied scouts with less magic and physical power than other types of arachne.
“So the scouts saw and understood that my strength was above Stage Nine, then used these webs and threads to transmit the messages for miles, reaching other scout-types who conferred the message like a relay all the way towards the city?”
Currently, Asura was sitting beside Rasha in her arachne form while an elder of the arachne tribe, who was kept prisoner, spoke to him about what happened and cleared up his doubts.
“That is correct. Although we do use magic tools, we are proud of our natural abilities and will never abandon them. Though some youngsters cannot understand that, sadly, I wish they could understand that sometimes having that small skill or ability in a dangerous situation can save lives, even their own.”
Shizuka was currently helping the others to direct repairs and sort out any issues with her small kingdom.
However, truth be told, because of the devastation of the forest, only a few of the cities remained, and it could hardly be called a kingdom or the monster kingdom anymore.
The elder speaking to him right now was a small type with white fluffy hair and resembled Rasha closely, said to be her grandmother’s sister.
Sadly, her grandmother passed away over a hundred years ago.
“To be honest, I agreed and was amazed how your people use those beautiful webs and threads to make so many unique items with such unique uses. It’s something I would love to support for generations to come.”
Despite the arachne having long lives, they would sometimes pass early because of sickness or ailments due to their large bodies and struggling to fully care for themselves when they lost flexibility and couldn’t move well.
“Fufu~ such a handsome and powerful boy. Our Rasha seems completely taken with you.”
“Grandma~ don’t tease me!” Although not her maternal grandmother, it was a sign of great respect, something that the arachne race valued.
This was why the betrayal hurt the queen so much, or rather their race. Forgot that not every race felt the same as arachne, who loved to believe in trust and respect as their foundation.
Asura didn’t realise, but this lady before him was one of the strongest warriors of the arachne race over two thousand years ago and fought with his current mother’s ancestors. Of course, the Fenix family and his adoptive mother, not Freyja.
“Young Prince, may I ask what you think about Rasha?”
The beautiful silver fur on the elderly woman felt graceful, like wool around her neck and wrists, both charming and well-kept.
He looked at Rasha and found that, like the elderly woman, she was changing. Her neck also seemed to have a soft woollen fur around it, along with her wrists and the back of her spider body was almost identical to her mother Shizuka, pure white, with soft fur that was fluffy and smooth to touch.
“Though I do not know too much about her, our time together is short… Yet, at least, I enjoy my time with her for sure.”
“Ohoho~ really? Then, about her looks? Is it hard to see her as a woman because of her being so different to you a humanoid?”

“Her legs are beautiful, like obsidian spears, sparkling in the moonlight. Her upper body carries a beauty beyond even the royal elves; she is a petite yet adorable woman. As for her soft fur, like snow on a winter morning, the scent reminds me of home and makes my heart flutter.”
“Such sweet words, young prince. Do you believe her strong enough to stand beside you, to become your partner?”
“I do not know.”
At first, his words were a little disheartening for Rasha as her beautiful ruby eyes all narrowed and closed, her lips drooping before he continued speaking, causing her face to turn bright red.
“However, I wish to be with her longer. I want to learn everything about her, and then, I will answer your question with sincerity and conviction.”
“…” While the old woman stared into Asura’s eyes, she could feel his sincerity even now and the way his hand softly stroked the fur around Rasha’s neck, as if to soothe and calm her down, reassuring. The elder’s name was Toukah. Her father was a man from a continent to the south, where there were only desert sands and beautiful waters hidden in a paradise.
Rasha couldn’t help but tap her obsidian spider legs.
Her lovely fine hair fluttered with her movements as she felt Asura’s hand stroking the top of her behind, a sensitive spot for the arachne race, yet her grandmother only smiled. Rasha’s reaction wasn’t disgust or rejection but pure bliss as his fingers slid through the silky, smooth hairs, making the poor spider’s body tremble with delight.
“A….Asura~ it’s too delicate, please~ ah…. grandmother, don’t look!”
“What a shame, my eyes are getting worse in my old age; it makes me want to watch, so I can never forget the scene of my cute little Rasha finally finding a mate; how long did you make us worry and wait?”
Toukah laughed as she crawled over the chair. The chairs were created larger and in circles to accommodate the huge and small bodies of the arachne, not to mention the ceilings and walls had many ledges and panels to hang or lean on since some arachne liked to perch on high places and look down, as if hunting.
“I leave her to you, Prince Asura. Thank you for being sincere, and I am happy you don’t find our bodies repulsive. Fufu~ you remind me of my husband before he passed away.”
“Grandma~ Grandfather passed away a hundred years ago!”
“Oh my~ the little girl is so jealous. This old lady will see my silly daughter. Please, enjoy your stay and thank you for reaching out to help us in this time of need. The Arachne race will never forget you or what you’ve done for us, Asura Phoenix.”
Eventually, she skittered through a door up on the wall, back inside the building to meet with the queen, leaving the two alone.
“Uhm….Lord….Asura….” Rasha’s lovely voice echoed in the quiet room. The distant sounds of people outside the main mansion making noise, building, celebrating and discussing together in happy, bright voices filled the room as ambience.
“Rasha, I’ve decided.”
“Ah?!”
Her eyes widened, her body shivering as his hands stroked her silky white hair, brushing it aside and wiping her bushy white eyebrows with his thumb; the small dots were so soft he couldn’t help but enjoy the sensation. He then stared into her eight beautiful ruby eyes as if losing himself. “Will you come back with me after everything is over?”
“!!!”
‘What?! Such an embarrassing question, what do I do, what should I say?!’
Although she wanted to jump up and kiss him immediately, her arachne lower body would make it difficult, and the awkward situation wasn’t something she wanted. Instead, her gleaming eyes looked up at him, as if curious then conscious and finally, her head nodded, a soft and unconfident nod.
“I’ll take that as a yes?”
“….”
She gulped and turned away. Her hands tapped nervously on her cheeks while the lovely black legs tapped the wooden floor with a pleasant click as her entire face turned red, her ears twitching.
“Is it… okay?”
“About what?”
“Me…coming with you?”
“Why not?”
“Ah, you are the Prince, and I am just a monster…”
“And?”
“I might be problematic… and get in your way.”
“And?”
“I can’t cook well, clean well and my web isn’t good for clothes…”
“And?”
“Wa….”
“Besides, being together doesn’t need you to be good at anything. If you want to learn, you can learn; if not, then just stay with me until we are ready to take another step.”
‘Asura is seducing another woman…’ Lucia thought to herself while in his shadow, thinking of the strange way Ignis became after they left the tent that night he finally recovered several days ago.
Rasha seemed to pause for a moment before. Finally, her face began to turn red, and she looked up at Asura for the first time, her lovely gemlike eyes all shimmering in the light while gazing into his eyes. “Then, please… take me with you.”
‘It seems, no matter what, there will always be someone to fall in love with, my little husband~’ Lucia shrugged, watching the pair before she vanished into the darkness.
