Chapter 459: Time Goes On – The Reunion approaches
Time passed without care for the feelings of others—after seven days, the relief force from Silvara arrived at the ruins of the southern jungle.
Hundreds of skilled builders, carpenters and herbologists worked together to begin the reformation of the south jungle while also creating a defensive trade hub. This hub would be ruled by Silvara and Arachneas in a joint project to improve relations between the two nations.
Xavida, Mu Xue and Mu Yue were among the man people who travelled to the monster kingdom. Princess Vela wanted to join them—however was not permitted by the queen.
“It seems we failed to catch that bastard, Shang Luo.” Mu Xue complained while helping finish the temporary accommodations given to the three women by the knights. In honesty, they wanted to meet Asura.
However, travelling to the city of Arachneas would have taken another three days at their pace, but the knights and Valkyrie refused to let them.
“Don’t be so angry, sister. It’s not like we are to blame; when we learned he escaped, it was already too late to chase him down.” Mu Yue tried her best to comfort her sister, but Mu Xue was very stubborn.
“Ah~ I really want to see darling and hug him to death. All the letters and news we heard made me worry so much. He deserves to be beaten!” Xavida sat on the edge of her bed while letting her tail slap the ground in annoyance.
Mu Yue could only grimace while snapping her fingers to produce a warm flame before lighting the fireplace in the centre of their tent.
‘Thankfully, Silvara have special magic to carry the smoke outside to avoid any danger.’ She thought while watching her sister climb into her bed with lips twisted into a pout and her eyes narrow with a glare.
“At least we can finally rest. I’m so exhausted from all this travelling.” Xavida said with a sigh as she watched Mu Xue close her eyes while Mu Yue finished locking the door and placing warming mats on the other two beds.
Despite being in the former jungle, the temperature and weather after the destruction caused by Asura and the tremendous explosion turned the eastern part of the continent into a cold land with snow storms and hailstorms.
In honesty, the three women were exhausted from the travel because they were forced to check several cities and lands to try to find clues on where Shang Luo might have vanished. Ironically, they never thought he might have access to a magical tool that changes someone’s looks and blends in with the knights after killing one of them.
“Well, sister. Soon, you will meet your beloved, so don’t worry too much.” Mu Yue smiled while lying on her bed before covering herself with the blankets. Xavida soon joined her, and they started talking about Asura and various other topics.
The days passed with everyone’s hard work and efforts and a large call for the bombing of Behemoth to become a global day of worship by the church, which felt strange for many people at first.
However, they couldn’t go against their kingdom’s religion and the priests who gave them food when it was cold and the yield of bounty low.
The southern gate of Arachneas was finally complete, and it looked more like a fortress wall than a city—which didn’t bother Shizuka since it was his style.
She asked Asura to make it defensive but to try and retain their heritage visually. Shizuka stood outside the large gate alongside Asura and Ignis while watching the last of the builders walk past them to return to their homes.
“I’m impressed; it only took a month to rebuild everything and even improve its defences,” Shizuka commented while staring at the enormous gates that were six meters tall. The Queen’s atmosphere is one of delight and ease.
“I’m glad you are pleased with what we’ve done, Queen Shizuka,” Asura responded while leaning against the black stones imported from Lyndwrym. Since the explosion, the weather turned colder, and the winds picked up because of it—which made Shizuka want to leave as soon as possible to return to the palace.
“Thank you for coming to help us, Asura and Ignis. Not to mention all the knights and valkyrie who died to free us all.” Shizuka spoke with a gentle smile while placing a hand on the gate as though she could feel the relief of the monsters she had saved.
“We must protect those in need. Well, as long as they are my people anyway. I’m sorry that we couldn’t save the lives of those who perished here.”
Asura wasn’t an omnipotent god, and since the last battle, he began to think about how he could become stronger. From the moment he broke free of the monoliths, Asura felt lost, and how to grow stronger became too confusing, and nobody could guide him.
‘That was at least until I almost died and experienced the things that happened in this kingdom.’ Asura thought while watching Shizuka look back at him with a gentle smile that made his heart pound.
“What is it?” The Queen asked.
Asura shook his head with a smile. “It’s nothing. You just looked charming. I am not sure if it’s because of Rasha, but I feel that I’ve developed a taste for your race.” He teased while watching Shizuka’s face flush red as her ears twitched in annoyance.
“P-Prince Asura…” Queen Shizuka felt shocked and flattered by his words, but because there were so many people, she felt embarrassed for the first time in her life since losing her husband many years ago. “Don’t be silly. Besides, I’m old and have no charm.”
“I think you’re wrong. You have a lot of charm. But, before you decide to get angry, I will retreat into the palace and rest.” Asura smiled while turning around to walk towards the black stone palace that was being built on top of the ground.
Tomorrow, he would set off to the south, while the empire and Arachneas would send delegations to meet at Behemoth to discuss the terms of the ceasefire and other issues.
The wind picked up while Asura walked through the entrance of the palace and looked at the beautiful white and black floor with an engraving of a spider and a red bird. Of course, Asura knew they added the phoenix because of him, so it felt like a little ticklish to see.
Ignis followed him a few steps behind while Rasha was sitting in a soft harness that hung from the ceiling created by her webbing as she rocked back and forth, a gentle gaze on her face.

“How are you feeling, Rasha?” Asura asked while leaning on the sofa beside her, his eyes narrowing into a gentle gaze as she rocked back and forward, humming.
“I’m feeling great. The medicine the doctor gave me has helped with the pain in my muscles, and she said that all the eggs are healthy. I can feel their mana growing stronger each day as well. So… I wonder what they will look like, hehe.” Rasha responded while looking down at the floor, her hands clenching onto the fabric of the dress Shizuka lent her.
From the moment it was confirmed that their copulation was a success, and many of her eggs were fertilised. Rasha’s atmosphere transformed, and she began to take classes and lessons from her mother and the other adult arachne.
She wanted to know how to raise and protect them—which was surprising to Asura, who knew the playful and mischievous Rasha. However, since they were monsters, they matured faster than humans.
“I’m sure they will be strong and beautiful like you are,” Asura said with a smile before he sat comfortably on the sofa, Lorem and Helia still sleeping in the bedroom after last night’s minor scuffle. “How is Yufa doing? I know your mother seems to be a little strange with me right now.”
Ignis listened to their conversation while sitting on the opposite side of the sofa; since she was reborn, the previously serious Valkyrie began to enjoy gossip and green tea.1
“Well, it’s natural that she feels that way since you are the father of my children. She needs time to adjust to that fact and understand her feelings.” Rasha smiled while looking down at the floor, her lips twitching. “I’m sorry if we’ve caused any trouble for you…”
“It’s fine. I know that it’s my fault for being such a lustful man.”
“Mmm~ it’s not like you decided yourself to find our webbing to smell nice, though, right? Mother and Yufa would never blame you for being the one to suit them.”
“I see. I’m glad.” Asura sighed before smiling.
Rasha leaned forward with a grin. “But, you should remember that you’re mine, darling! I won’t let anyone take you away from me! Even if you give my mother another brood or my sister. You were mine first! They are just lovers~ hehe.”
“Ah… but what about my other lovers and wives?”
“Hmmm? But they aren’t arachne, so why do I care?” Rasha looked at him with all eight eyes looking confused.
Asura stared at her before letting out a helpless chuckle.
‘She has no idea about how things work for normal humans and kingdoms, but it’s fine. It’s not like I’m going anywhere, and she is already pregnant. I can’t take back my actions and desires from that night. Nor do I want to—if her mother and sister approached me, then I’ll give them what they want, of course.’
Asura spent a while thinking while watching her return to rocking back and forth, the eight beautiful eyes slowly closing as Rasha seemed to fall into a light slumber.
‘Yeah… if there are issues, then I only need to speak to the women that I love, and be honest.’
