Chapter 498: Retaking the Sea
Not long after Asura and his wives protected the Phoenix Glade, the group soon returned to the castle together. Garret stood at the mansion door to greet his son and the man and women following him together.
“My son, when did you become so damn popular?”
“Father, shouldn’t you act more elegant when the queen is here?”
“Hahaha! Little Vela is my daughter now, since she’s here I will treat her like one!”
“Tsk…”
The father and son began to argue and complain. Meanwhile, Vela and Lucia headed into the mansion, guided by the maids.
Ophelia wouldn’t return for a while, and Lucia’s mother also went to the capital. So, the trio, along with Amalia, began to make friends.
“It seems that Lord Garret is happy to have Asura back.” Lucia whispered while sneaking into the kitchen and helping set the table.
She also used her clones to watch various parts of the mansion.
“Mmmm, Dad always liked Asura better. He seemed to feel really down when brother became introverted.” Amalia lifted her cup of tea, looking at the curious gaze of Queen Vela, Lorem and Helliana.
“Men will be men, let’s have some cake!” Lorem cheered while choosing a sour and citrus lemon tart.
“Oh my, it seems your tastes have changed a lot, is it the little ones?” Vela looked at Lorem and beamed with a smile. “I remember before those two were born, I craved the most foul things in them middle of the night!”
“But… Xavida seemed just fine, eating anything she liked. That girl didn’t even get nausea!” She sighed to herself and grabbed a plate of chocolate cake and warm rosehip tea.
The strange atmosphere felt calming while Amalia looked at the ladies with a jealous flame burning in her chest. She still didn’t win her brother’s heart.
“Haha, are we speaking of our beloved?” Sigurd appeared and took a dry Eastern cake. Then, suddenly winced. She stopped for a moment before coughing and taking a sponge cake with strawberry jam. “Well… I cannot say I don’t understand. Now the scent of my favourite pastries makes me feel sick… and I can’t even lift my sword for long! Because I get shouted at by the maids.”
“Wow, but it’s not all bad, right?” Lucia smiled as she reached for a slice of baked pear cake. A cake made using her mother’s recipe.
“It is not bad, though; there are some annoying things. Like that…” Vela came out with several strange complaints about what happened when she got pregnant.
But then their talks about the future started.

Meanwhile, Asura sat opposite his father. The man he knew to be boisterous and bright, the type who liked to party. But he spent too long fighting against him in the past.
“I am glad we have come to this point, dad.”
“What are you talking about, you young fool!” His big hand slapped his son’s back before laughing. “When were we last home together? Haha!”
That booming laughter resonated around the halls, making some of the maids jump a little. He was happy now that Asura returned to this mansion once again.
Garret kept on blaming himself for the time they had spent away from one another all these years. Even though it wasn’t something anyone could change.
Because of this, Garret vowed never to lose a member of his family again.
“So, you’ve not yet met your beloved children?”
Asura’s breath stopped before he looked at his father, who held two pictures: silver hair, one with amber eyes, and the other bright red. Yet they both had short, curly hair.
“Oh… they are…”
His voice shook.

Seeing his son’s expression, Garret put his hands behind his head as if trying to relieve his mind.
“Two girls, twins… though it’s even more amazing that Xavida gave birth to five eggs!” he told Asura with a wistful smile. “I hope you have a lot of money you little stallion!”
“Dad?!” Asure felt embarrassed by his father’s joking words. It was clear the man wished only happiness for his son.
It was hard enough to be here, but he still didn’t know how he’d break the ice when he spoke to those three women. However, Asura’s mind returned to the picture of the two lovely girls.
They named the eldest, with amber eyes, Aurelia Silvaria Phoenix.
While naming the second girl with red eyes, Mirelle Silvaria Fenix.
“Is Mirelle going to become the next lady of the Phoenix Glade?” Asura wondered if that’s why she received that title, and his father nodded, looking at his son.
“I apologise if you dislike this… it was something I asked for because she resembled you so much… I–”
“Dad, was I a dutiful son?” Asura interrupted him.
“Hah? Where is this coming from? Of course! You always stayed by my side, even though you lost yourself for a short while… You came back and looked at what you’ve done for me and our people! I am proud of you, Asura.”
“I see…” Asmodeus let out a heavy sigh.
Sometimes, he became overwhelmed with the desire for revenge and destruction. Yet, at other times, he just wanted to remain with his beloved woman and enjoy life.
“Son… there’s something you want to tell me, right?” Garret looked around, noticing that while fighting earlier, Asura had taken him away from the women, and now even the maids vanished.
“Dad… the next battle.”
“What about it?” Garret swallowed his breath and began to look concerned. He knew about the empire and the battle his son lost, and the grave tone of Asura’s voice added to his worry.
“I might, not be so lucky this time. The enemy… isn’t something from this world.” He stood up, seeing his father’s face darken, and then he put his hands on the old man’s shoulders.
“Asura… please tell me this isn’t true?”
“I must keep them safe—from the abyss, from the demon empire… from the woman that created me.” His eyes drifted up as if looking beyond the stone ceiling. “When the enemy comes, they will unleash their monsters here first, where they think I live. Or the people I love might exist… thus, I must attack them in their land.”
“I…I see.” Garret shook as his son removed his hands. He couldn’t help but hold his trembling hand and bit his lower lip.
As a knight, a warrior sworn to protect his family, Garret knew he could not accompany his son into that realm of hell.
He’d go through those gates with his sword high. And if there were no gates, everyone would be safe. Asura would be able to fight off any further enemy soldiers from invading. “My son, you are going to fight them… alone?”
He glanced at him, a tear falling down his cheeks.
“Father… what can I do? You’ve seen how cute my little girls are, you would do that same!”
“Damn it! Damn it all!” Garret jumped up, smashing a nearby vase and then his fists against the stone walls.
The moment he did, Asura created a magical barrier to stop the maids from noticing any sound.
No matter what they said or what they did, this entire world should just suffer under the invasion of demons! If he could tell Asura to ignore it all and just live with his family. Yet Garret couldn’t because they were father and son and would react the same.
“Can you win?” He had a hoarse voice, yet the fire of determination and hope burned in his eyes.
“This time, I cannot say for sure.” He admitted and hid nothing.
Yet the chances of him surviving were tiny.
“However… I don’t feel like I will die!”
“Son?”
“Dad, if you asked me before I went to the empire… before I saw those pictures and realised what I have to live for. Maybe I’d have given up. But now it’s too late.”
“Too late for what? Don’t speak in riddles…”
“To give up hope. It’s too late to do that,” he told his father and left him in the hall.
The maids entered and saw a broken vase but dared not speak as Garret punched his hand again and again because they saw his smiling face and strange atmosphere.
“You damn foolish boy, teasing your father like that!”
Asura couldn’t help but laugh to himself before stepping towards the room, the voices of his beloved women chatting together.
It was at that moment the new guests arrived…
A pair he never thought would visit this house together.
Verana and Verena Drakkur.
“It seems the first thing to do is taking back the sea, and preparing for the final battle.”

Meanwhile…
“So you found something special, right?” She laughed, licking her lips. “But remember… didn’t our husband seem more handsome?” Lorem leaned towards Helliana.
The other women nodded and began chattering about his changes.
“His silver eyes are so alluring…” Vela blushed while the others laughed at her honest reply.
“But don’t you find him more assertive?” Amalia licked the spoon while thinking about the passionate time she shared with her brother, leaving the room in a dead silence.
“Aren’t we forgetting who brought him to this point?” Sigurd snorted, taking the credit.
“Hah? It’s me and Lucia of course, who else found him at the academy!” Lorem argued.
Like this, their bonds over the past months grew stronger, even without Asura.
However, could they remain the same now that he had returned? Their desires and needs would soon bring them into a battle royale to fight for his affection.
Yet, for now, there was peace.
