Chapter 499: To Wolfsheim
“Are you sure you must go today?” Vela’s naked body, hidden by the silk quilt, trembled, her eyes filled with concern.
“I have spent too long here, though I want to return with you…”
He reached out and stroked her soft silver hair, their evening together quite intense after a long separation. “And the enemy won’t let us.”
“Asura, I know we must protect the kingdom… but! You’ve just come back. Can I send you out like this once again?!” Her eyes dripped with tears as she grasped his wrist, holding tight. Asura felt her tears resemble ocean colour gemstones, sparkling in the morning sun. “Can’t you stay?”
‘Vela…’
His chest felt tight—there wasn’t enough reason to deny her. At last, in his heart but his mind, he knew the enemy wouldn’t take the loss easily. ‘Their next attack will be devastating, we must weather it or the entire kingdom will be affected.’
“Forgive me Vela, although I want to remain with you…”
His hand caressed her warm cheek, squeezing the soft flesh with a faint smile on his lips.
“This is for our future, you understand, right?”
“I know… in my head, it’s all clear as the Queen, my task and duty. Yet as a woman and in my heart?!”
She became silent, looking down while biting her lower lip. “I cannot do it…”
“Vela, don’t bite your lip—it’ll hurt you.” His voice was calm, the love in his eyes as clear as a tranquil lake at the dawn of daylight, warm, welcoming, yet serene.
“But…”
Her eyes stared at his chest, seeing the marks she had created during their passionate night—a feeling of shame that soon faded. Her fingertips brushed along the red marks. ‘Maybe if I…’
“Asura—”
Before she could utter another word, he closed the distance and kissed her.
Their bodies pushed together, her soft mounds against his defined chest, legs entangling under the covers. A warm heat surged into an inferno as he used the most underhanded tactic to change her mind. “I want you, Vela.” His deep voice sounded sweet, with honeyed desire, and the look he gave would cause any woman to swoon. Vela wasn’t different, filled with affection—although she was angry inside.
She couldn’t help but forgive him as the best began to shake, her hands clutching the white sheets while sucking on his lips to mask her passionate cries.
However, they sounded like music to his ears while his hands caressed the curves of her body.
‘Ah… I’ll miss him!’
Their passion took over until Asura fell back, catching his breath an hour later, with sweat dripping down their bodies.
A grin spread across his face when he noticed how she panted, and a dazed and sleepy Vela was on his chest, heavily breathing while pouting.
“Fine… then, you can go this time but come home… to the palace.”
His arms gently wrapped around her bare shoulders, and he smiled. “Alright, I’ll be back as fast as possible.”
“I don’t want just words, Asura, action is needed.” She patted his chest while moving to a sitting position, a wicked smile growing on her lips. Vela slipped herself above him in the mounted cowgirl position and then looked down at him with both hands placed on his chest. “Until I cannot move, and fall unconscious… keep going.”
Their affectionate passion once again caused the room to fill with the scent and sound of spring.
A pair of delicate fingertips clawing a muscular back.
Passionate cries of delight as a beast rages against the defenceless maiden.

Three hours later, Asura left the Phoenix Glade, heading North. He took Lucia, Verana, Helliana and Xavida with him, and the rest would head to Drakkur the following day.

‘I can’t believe how greedy, Vela and Lorem were the past two nights.’ He mused to himself, sitting in the corner of the large carriage and closing his eyes. His eyelids felt heavy as if filled with sand from the hectic few days.
When he woke up, the carriage seemed to be halfway to Wolfsheim already.
The choice to leave was something he decided not long after meeting with his father. Asura spent several days with his wives. He wanted to go to the capital to meet his children. But the threat of Xavida’s uncle continued to push against Silvara’s coast.
‘It’s aggravating that his ships are created of bone and manned by undead.’ Asura thought while sitting in the carriage heading to Wolfsheim with Lucia and Xavida beside him.
“Xavida, do you not need to return to the capital?” He asked, curious—though she mentioned laying her eggs. They hadn’t hatched yet.
“The little ones won’t hatch for some time yet…” Xavida muttered, “I can feel it, and then my instinct tells me it’s safe.”
“Is there such an instinct?” He looked at her doubtfully.
“Well, don’t be such a sourpuss!”
She then leaned against him and grabbed onto his arm tightly, cuddling close while licking her sharp teeth in front of everyone.
“Asura,” Verana spoke from the other side of the carriage and scooped up, Lucia pulling the small elf onto her lap.
“What’s the matter, Verana?” He felt she looked different, a more alluring aura that made him feel unable to peel away his gaze, like a mouse caught by a viper.
Although she didn’t use her vampiric abilities, he still found them intoxicating. At the same time, her skin became smoother, and he couldn’t help but find her beauty overwhelming.
“Hahaha!” A small giggle came from Verana. “It seems it is working…” She stroked her chin in thought before smiling seductively and blowing him a kiss. The entire thing came across as bewitching and even made him somewhat stiff below.
“Do you think I am pretty?” She asked in a low, sultry voice.
Asura couldn’t lie and nodded.
Even though the other ladies seemed a little jealous, it was the truth that she looked better than before.
‘Is this because my blood changed? Or because of some other change.’ In his opinion, he believed that perhaps his reaching a new stage might have something to do with it.
‘Verena said my blood smelled delicious when we greeted each other…’
“When I consumed your blood,” Verana explained while staring deeply into his eyes, a small fang flashing.
“It made me feel better… I can’t believe how different the flavour became. I think I might be addicted to you.” She flicked her dress while crossing her legs, seductively narrowing her eyes, giving off a sense of danger. “Do you feel I am addictive too?”
“Tsk… this damn leech seducing you in front of everyone!” Lucia complained before her shadows wrapped themselves around Asura because they were able to turn into a mist, which meant the girls could ignore Xavida hugging his arm. “Don’t forget, we all agreed to share…” However, her ears reddened a bit, and she seemed embarrassed.
“Don’t worry, Lucia, it is all under control…” Helliana’s hand slapped Verana’s head before she wrapped Lucia’s shadows in a black magical claw and pulled them off Asura. “You both need to learn restraint!”
“Sister Helia!” Verana clutched her head with teary eyes.
“Don’t ‘Sister’ me!” The beautiful phoenix narrowed her eyes, glaring at Verana coldly.
“Hahahaha!”
Asura couldn’t help but break into laughter. He saw the way his beloved women acted together—in his absence—they seemed to have created both a hierarchy and a sense of dynamic.
‘Such harmony…’ He couldn’t help but marvel at how easily they seemed to fit together.
A simple touch from Lucia or Helliana reminded him that these women loved him dearly. Verana’s playful attempts to tease and Xavida’s somewhat childish nature were endearing to him, causing an ever-warm feeling in his chest.
Even Lucia had adjusted quite a lot recently since their reunion.
Asura reached out and brought Helliana closer, the heat radiating off of her comfortable to embrace.
“Let’s get along, soon we will be fighting against those disgusting creatures again.” His hands stroked Helliana’s cheek while holding Xavida’s hand, but his gaze focused on Lucia and Verana. “Meanwhile the other’s will have to fight near Drakkur without us.”
“Understood~ I will be good.” Xavida and her lovely response, despite her maturing into an adult dragon, made him smile bitterly.
“I will do what my husband desires.” Verana’s smirk showed she’d get revenge on Helliana later, probably during training.
While the carriage continued travelling down the road towards Wolfsheim, everyone turned silent with anticipation.
“What shall we talk about now?”
“How about last night! How loud does the Queen squeal when she—Ouch! Don’t hit me… Kyak!”
Like that, the fight between Xavida and Lucia continued.

At the same time, in the North.
The undead forces began to amass, preparing for an all-out war. The sheer number of undead swaying on the plains felt eerie for the scouts who spotted them.
“We have to get back, tell the lord!”
“Hurry, return to shore!”
“There must be hundreds of thousands!”
“Hurry… adjust the sails prepare the generator!”
Asura would soon discover the enemy held a force far stronger than anything this world had seen.
