Chapter 507: The Landing – II
Asura took a deep breath, but his face showed a calm expression.
The ocean air felt salty and foul the closer they came to the demon empire’s coast. He held out his arm towards the visible land while gathering his energy, constantly drawing vitality from the air.
Vital energy, or the type of divine energy he awakened when surpassing the mortal limit, existed in everything.
Mana, Qi, Anima, Animus, blood, and even bodily fluids.
All of these were inferior forms of pure vital energy, the source of life and the substance that allows a world tree to root itself and grow.
The corrupted energy of the abyss.
Mortal energies like mana, aura, and qi that people use across various worlds.
Followed by upper-class energies such as anima, animus, and soul power.
World trees could use all of these powers and purify them into pure, vital energy.
‘I cannot believe this is the direction my actions brought me…’
To create the universe, even for a god to rise, they must be able to manipulate Divine energy, and the most potent was vitality.
‘In other words, creation of life.’
‘Of course, the opposite also exists… the energy of death.’
These two energy forms were the strongest and most potent in all existence. Asure only learned after looking into his various past lives to discover that the name of a ‘Great One’ or ‘The Creator’ only appeared once.
‘There was only ever ONE who carried the ability to create life, just as there was only one who could take it away.’
Since he stopped living just for his past and the mistakes he made. Asura realised he needed his own goals and desires, not just to love his women and wish for their happiness.
Thus, his first task was to learn about himself and explore his limits and power.
His training became more intense, using the special teleportation sigils to take himself into that hellish world…
However, now, with his vital energy, he could see things that were hidden in the past.
.
.
.
Lost in thought, the fleet of ships headed closer to their great battle.
On the horizon were more than a hundred warships and battleships, all bordering with unspeakable horrors and undead monsters.
Although he seemed to be in a daze, Asura was watching, analysing their strength because he found his original thoughts to be incorrect.
‘It’s not that the undead have no vital energy, but rather it’s kept sealed in their head, those flaming eyes in the skeletons sockets is pure vitality.’
‘The undead need a small amount of vital energy to survive, but it is also a poison for them!’
“Prepare for battle!” Asura’s voice, deep and filled with a commanding spirit, echoed through the destroyer called the Demonbane.
A ship that the dwarves created for Asura in the past, with eighty small dwarven magic cannons on the port and starboard. Then, at the stern, there were two heavy beam launchers for the main cannons.
‘I am happy with this ship… but it cost over a million gold and ten tonnes of magic crystal to create.’

‘To fire the cannons for an hour it would take five large mana gems.’
Though Asura carried thousands of them in his magical storage space, it was a ship only he could make use of. Thanks to the wide shape of the bow of the ship, which was wide, though lowering speed.
The huge armoured mechanism, like a hammerhead shark, opened to reveal ten huge gun ports at the front.
“Do you see the enemy, men?” Asura spoke out, his eyes glowing with a silver light.
“AYE!”
“Demonbane has sight of its prey—let us do what we set off to do!”
The ship started turning to point at the enemy fleet, moving parallel to the other fifty destroyers. A fleet of ships carrying a full force of dwarven cannons who were coming into position with their main cannons. “Prepare to fire!”
Asura spoke loudly and calmly as if discussing tea or having dinner, although inside, Asura felt excited. More vital energy flowed into him, constantly allowing him to recover and enhance his body further.
He didn’t feel any rush or anxiety when seeing over a hundred enemy warships. Because he felt confident, there was a desire to become stronger, to fight and fight and surpass his limits.
Somewhere along his journey, he forgot something simple… Asura loved to fight!
BOOM—!
A flurry of loud explosions blasted out as the magical cannons shot powerful bolts of lightning toward the fleet.
They crashed into the ancient ships of wood and bone, quickly splintering the ships before causing the deck itself to collapse. The collapsing deck pulled the undead soldiers, mages, and creatures into a watery grave beneath the waves.
At the same time, a terrifying roar came from the rear end of the Demonbane.
“Captain! Ambush, it’s a dragon zombie!”
‘Well… here’s some fun!’
The undead fleets suffered a huge amount of damage, thus sending out their strongest monsters from the coast… five zombie dragons flew around their fleet.
“Helia, Lorem shall we greet the guests?”
Two beautiful women stood next to Asura, both dressed in silver armour and white cloaks. Helia, a beautiful raven-haired witch, has black feathered wings spread wide. Then there was the fiery Lorem, her crimson red hair tied in a ponytail as her back fluttered with bright red feathers and a huge spear in her hand.
His beloved women and two dear friends he knew from the beginning.
“Well… it’s not an actual dragon, but let’s see how they do!” Lorem’s body vanished with a boom, her feet almost cracking the deck. She quickly passed one hundred feet per second, speeding toward a zombie dragon.
A brilliant flame swirled around her lips as she gathered it into a searing ball of scarlet fire. The red feathers all along her body burst with a fiery light, and her eyes narrowed in focus before she released the blazing sphere.
WOOOSH—!
The impact of her attack blew off the zombie dragon’s wing, causing its body to spiral uncontrollably down towards the water below.
However, before it could touch the water, a beam of white fire shot across the sea; Helliana let out a deep breath, holding her hands out and sighing. A sizzling with smoke as the residual heat from her white fire vaporised the entire dragon.
“Oh my~ Lorem, don’t be sloppy now, fufu.” Helliana teased her rival and dear friend.
‘This sight is nostalgic…’ Asura thought to himself as he looked at the remaining four zombie dragons. “Well, let’s join in.” His back itched before a beautiful pair of silver, white and black wings sprouted from his back, a total of six wings.
“I am leaving the combat to you, understood Sigfried?” A middle-aged knight and sailor who protected Wolfsheim most of his life. He turned to salute after the man nodded his head with respect.
“Aye, Sir!” Although he spoke politely, he couldn’t stop the smile spreading across his face. The king counted on him, a mere commoner! How could he pass up this honour?!
“This battle will go into the history books! Men look sharp, let’s show these undead bastards, just who they are messing with!”
.
.
.
The scent of fire, salt and charcoal accompanied the sounds of shouting voices, cannon blasts and magical beams fizzling in the air. Asura hovered in the air.
He held an icy blue sword and, in his left hand, a lance, a weapon he had first used almost a year ago.
‘To hold you in my hand, how nostalgic… how did I forget about my goals and desires?’
‘Lumeris Nova… my soul weapons.’
Nostalgic, the sword Nova originally took the form of an elemental sword but could now take the form of any sword he wielded or touched. In contrast, Lumeris was a spear, able to take the form of any spear, polearm or lance he held.
‘Shall we?’
With a single thought, the blue sword became the black greatsword his father gifted to him. At the same time, the lance shortened and became the black spear he used to fight in Romantica. “Much better!”
“Graaaa!” Two zombie dragons flapped their wings, glaring at him in mid-air… he could feel their master’s gaze.
‘The summoner is watching me through their eyes, huh?’
His body vanished from sight, causing their bodies to pull back and start breathing a green, corrosive breath attack.
‘BANG—!’ The sound barrier broke as he appeared again, piercing his spear between the empty eye socket of one of the zombie dragons. The silver spear seemed to explode with his white phoenix fire as it wrapped the zombie and melted its body into dust.
With a yank of the spear.
The corpse fell into the sea, crumbling apart and using that momentum to spin his body and bring down his father’s black sword encased in a black flame.
An infernal flame ripped through the other zombie dragon, severing its head in one clean move.
“Whelps! Easy enough.”
With both zombie dragons dealt with, he could feel a warmth flowing into his body. The huge amount of undeath energy from their bodies surged into his chest, and his body shone with a faint white light.
‘Ah… it’s being purified and turned into my strength!’
Meanwhile, Lorem and Helia suddenly flew to his side, their faces filled with delight. It seemed the five zombie dragons vanished in a short amount of time.
“It seems that the enemy is starting to panic.” Lorem gazed at the ships fleeing towards the west from below, only to be slaughtered by the Demonbane’s mighty port side cannons.
“What is the next move Asura?” Helia seemed a little winded, but her power used more magic due to being such a powerful flame.
Asura gazed at the two, then down at the ships in battle.
“Let’s take the fight to the enemy!”
