Chapter 140: Easy leveling up
As Max entered through the red door, he found himself standing in a dungeon-like cave.

Above his head floated a giant spherical ball containing five monsters trapped within it.

‘Do I have to kill them?’ Max wondered as he waited for something to happen.

Suddenly, one of the monsters trapped within the giant sphere fell to the ground before Max.

“Huh? This monster looks a bit different,” Max muttered, noticing that the creature was glowing with a light blue aura, and its entire body seemed to be made up of that glow.

It was a squid-type monster with ten tentacles, aside from its hands and legs, and the strength of a Level 1 Adept Rank.

The squid monster, upon landing on the ground, set its gaze on Max and began rampaging toward him.

Max took out his sword and muttered to himself, “Let’s test the power of 10% of Fusion State.” He wanted to get comfortable using Fusion State if he wanted to use it effectively in battle.

Raising his sword high, it began to glow with red and blue auras, causing the air to tremble around him.

“Divergent Slash!”

Max swung his sword down in a final slash, sending an arc of gleaming light at the squid monster.

Chuck!

The squid monster stood no chance as it was cleaved in two by Max’s attack. Its two halves fell to the ground.

“It’s strong…” Max muttered, feeling the strength behind the Fusion State.

Just then, his eyes darted toward the corpse of the squid monster he had slain and noticed something strange happening.

The two severed parts of the monster glowed with bright blue light as they disintegrated into small blue particles, which floated toward him.

Max became alert for a moment, stepping back in caution.

‘Hmm? I’m not sensing any negative intent here,’ Max thought, feeling the lack of hostility from these glowing particles. He decided to let one of the glowing particles touch him.

As one of the glowing particles touched his body, it disappeared, and Max’s eyes widened as he felt the sensation from it.

“That’s the same as absorbing cores!” Max exclaimed, allowing more of these glowing particles to touch him, letting them enter his body.

A moment later, a notification appeared in his vision, pleasantly surprising him as he absorbed all the glowing particles before him.

Max’s eyes gleamed with excitement as he saw the notification. His gaze shifted toward the remaining four monsters trapped in the sphere.

Just then, another monster fell from the sphere and landed before him.

It was a gigantic wolf, with one side blazing with red flames and the other covered in blue frost.

Max smiled, noticing that the wolf’s strength was at Level 2 of Adept Rank.

“It doesn’t make any difference.” Max raised his sword high in the air, using the merged aura of Fusion State, and swung it down, releasing an arc of gleaming light toward the wolf.

“Divergent Slash!”

The arc of light cleaved the wolf in two before it could react, killing it instantly.

Moments later, the corpse disintegrated into small glowing particles, which entered his body.

“I’m once again close to leveling up!” Max muttered in excitement, his eyes greedily glancing at the sphere containing the remaining three monsters.

Just then, another monster fell from the sphere.

This time, it was a black glowing ball of slime with strength at Level 3 of Apprentice Rank.

Max noticed that when the slime landed on the ground, almost a chunk of it melted instantly.

“Divergent Slash!” Max smiled as he swung his sword again, sending an arc of light toward the slime.

However, the black slime was faster than the last two monsters. Before his arc of light could reach it, the slime rolled across the ground, dodging the attack effortlessly.

Seeing that, Max used his dash skill and appeared in the slime’s path, hacking down with his sword.

Slice!

His sword sliced through the slime, cutting it in two. But instead of dying, the two parts moved even faster and began circling him.

‘They aren’t dead even after I cut them in two?’ Max mused, glancing at the two slimes revolving around him.

Suddenly, the two slimes spat small black balls from their mouths toward Max.

‘They are definitely dangerous,’ Max thought, using his Omni Guard skill to enclose himself in a green sphere.

The small balls collided with the sphere, exploding on contact, one after another.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Dust surrounded Max’s figure as the explosions died down, but he was already making his move. Using the Three Dimensional Body skill, he could easily see the two slimes through the dust, but they couldn’t see him.

Using the Magic Sword Bullets skill, he conjured two small swords and sent them flying toward the slimes.

The swords flew through the air, piercing the two slimes and pinning them to the ground.

“Die!” Max’s eyes glowed black for a moment as he summoned black flames that engulfed the two swords pinning the slimes to the ground.

The black flames burned the slimes until there was nothing left.

At the last possible moment, before the slimes were completely consumed by the flames, Max used his Devour ability to devour any glowing particles left behind by the slimes before they could be incinerated.

“Level 6 from Level 4 in just minutes.” Max muttered, glancing at the last two monsters in the sphere. “I can level up to Level 7 with the remaining monsters for sure.”

Just then, another monster fell down. This time, it was a four-armed golden ape, its entire body glowing with a red hue. It glared down at Max with disdain in its eyes.

“Does it think I’m weak?” Max muttered, sneering as he stored his sword back in his space.

Since the four-armed ape was so proud of its strength, Max decided to beat it at what the monster was best at.

“Come on!” Max beckoned the monster with his tiny finger as he activated the strength of all his 15 Draconic Essences.

His body immediately became a reservoir of raw power, and pure strength coursed through his veins. Now, with 11 Dragon Scales, his body was in much better condition to handle the power of 15 Draconic Essences.

The ape roared, witnessing the raw strength emanating from Max’s body. Its four arms beat against its chest non-stop as the energy within it soared. Then it pounced at Max, its four arms raised to slam him down.

But Max stood his ground and raised his left hand, blocking the attack. The four huge arms slammed on to the Max’s small arm but it held on.

Bang!

The ground beneath him was instantly destroyed by the momentum of the attack, but Max remained standing, his one arm blocking the ape’s strike as his other arm clenched tightly.

“Now take this!” Max roared, sending his own attack at the golden ape. His fist collided with the ape’s massive body, sending it hurtling through the air.

Bang!

The ape’s figure slammed into the far cave wall, creating a small crater there.

Max flew toward the ape, intending to finish it off.
