Chapter 584: Drevon’s Situation
In the heart of the Central Region of the Valora Continent, atop the roof of a towering, black-stone building surrounded by the intricate spires of the Monarch’s territory, Drevon stood with his arms folded, his gaze fixed skyward.

The Citadel of Atherion was descending—slowly, majestically, like a divine fortress returning to the mortal world.

It should have been a moment of triumph. The Citadel was the only known place outside the Middle Domain that contained energy dense enough to allow an expert to break into the Master Rank.

For someone like him, standing halfway into the Master Rank, it represented opportunity—a gateway to ascension.

But even then chances were much low. Citadel would descend every few years and then but no being from the Lower Domain had ever entered Master Rank from Expert Rank even with significantly dense energy in the Citadel.

For Drevon, he didn’t eye the dense energy inside the citadel but the treasures inside. He believed the treasures inside should be enough to push him into the realm of the Master Rank.

Last few times, he had entered the Citadel, it was too much restricted but with the last key being found, they could finally explored the full of Citadel.

And yet, Drevon’s expression was far from celebratory. His mood was grim, his jaw tight, the faint flicker of frustration simmering beneath his calm.

Behind him, a young man with sleek black hair and sharp, calculating eyes approached. Clad in fine robes embroidered with subtle silver lines, his presence exuded authority that went far beyond mere cultivation rank.

“Drevon,” the young man spoke in an even tone, his words clipped with precision, “are your people ready? Once the Citadel settles, we make our move.”

Drevon turned, suppressing the disdain rising in his chest as he looked at the man. “Young Master Silus, my forces are fully prepared,” he said smoothly. “With a single command from you, they will enter the Citadel without hesitation.”

Silus nodded, his eyes gleaming with quiet ambition as he turned his gaze back toward the colossal shadow in the sky. “Good,” he murmured, then paused thoughtfully. “I wonder how things are in the Lost Continent. But with Commander Shen stationed there, I doubt anyone will dare to act out of turn. He won’t allow it.”

Drevon hesitated for a moment, then spoke with a measured voice. “Young Master, are you not sending people to join Magnar’s group? He holds one of the keys, and it’s said he’ll lead most of the top factions into the Citadel. If we don’t align with them, we risk—”

But Silus calmly raised a hand, silencing him. “We guardians of the Lower Domain were never meant to interfere here unless the Middle Domain was directly involved—or unless something truly unnatural occurred.”

His voice was quiet but firm. “Our presence here already breaks that law. If we act too openly, the other three families will take notice. And if that happens, the fragile balance between the Four God Nation will shatter. I’m not here to start a war between the divine families. I’m here for the Citadel’s secrets.”

Drevon bowed his head slightly, forcing a respectful smile. “I see. Young Master Silus has already thought everything through.” But inside, rage brewed. He hated how easily he had to lower his head to this child. In any other circumstance, he would have already crushed Silus and reclaimed control of his own fate.

But this wasn’t just any youth. Silus Xuan was a One-Star Genius of the Xuan Family, one of the four ruling families of the Four God Nation, and a direct heir to one of the greatest powers of the Middle Domain.

To raise a hand against him would be courting death—not just his own, but the annihilation of the entire Monarch faction.

So Drevon stood still, his voice polite, his expression controlled. But in his heart, he clenched his ambition tighter than ever, waiting for the moment when the Citadel might offer him something even greater than this insufferable alliance—a chance to seize true power.

Moreover, it wasn’t as if Drevon could do anything to Silus even if he dared to try. As a One-Star Genius of the prestigious Xuan Family, Silus might not have been ranked among the top geniuses of the Middle Domain, but he was still an elite—from Lower Domain’s perspective—already standing at Level 2 of the Master Rank.

That level of power wasn’t something Drevon could contend with. Not now. Not here. He could have all the ambition and hatred in the world, but at the end of the day, reality was merciless.

Even if he charged at Silus with all his strength, it would be like a dog throwing itself at a mountain. The result would be instant obliteration.

“Once it fully settles and all the keys are activated, call me,” Silus said, turning away without sparing another glance. “I’ll be preparing in the meantime.”

Then he vanished from the rooftop in a ripple of space, leaving Drevon behind.

As the silence returned, Drevon stood there motionless for a long moment, his fists clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white. Rage pulsed through his veins, but in the end, all he could do was sigh heavily and let it go—for now.

His time would come. The Citadel wasn’t just a place of power—it was a battlefield where fates would be rewritten.

At the same time, far to the west, in the golden grandeur of the Sun Palace, tension simmered beneath the surface. Within the throne hall, a massive chamber gilded with solar emblems and red banners, dozens of powerful figures stood gathered, all eyes turned toward the sky where the Citadel of Atherion continued its slow descent.

On the central throne sat King Magnar, regal and unmoving, his golden armor gleaming beneath the floating crystal lights. Beside him stood Klaus, Kate, Ralph, and many other prominent leaders from across the continent.

Among them were the heads of the four great families, as well as representatives from the top five guilds of the East Region. Including many other peak Expert Rank masters and leaders from all over the Valora Continent.
