Chapter 80: Max vs Killian – 1
Suddenly, massive screens materialized above the crowds gathered in the halls of the Battle Realm. Each screen was enormous, as wide and tall as a theater’s movie screen, immediately commanding attention.
They floated above various parts of the Battle Realm, casting a faint glow that drew everyone’s gaze upward.
At the very center of the Battle Realm, the largest screen of all dominated the area, its vivid display crystal-clear. On it, Max and Killian stood face-to-face on a vast, open grassy plain.
People from all five major guilds and four super families gathered in groups, closely watching the screen. Their expressions were serious as they gazed up at the spectacle.
—
On the battlefield, Max and Killian stood a little distance apart from each other. Max wore a mocking expression, while Killian appeared calm and composed.
“You can attack first,” Max said, smiling at Killian.
Killian raised an eyebrow, feeling underestimated. “Are you sure?”
Max nodded. “Go ahead and show me what you’ve got.”
Killian smiled, and at that moment, tendrils of blue lightning began to dance around his body, wrapping from his hands to his legs and across his entire form, casting a pulsating soft blue glow around him.
The lightning was so lethal that when it touched the ground, it scorched it, turning it to blackened char.
Max noticed this and sneered as flames erupted from his hands. Soon after, flames covered his hands up to his elbows in a shining, lava-like infernal coating, making it appear as though he wore glowing, lava-colored gloves.
“Impressive,” Killian said with a calm smile, his gaze unwavering. “But don’t think that will save you from me.”
In the blink of an eye, his figure vanished, leaving a dazzling trail of blue lightning in his wake. The air crackled with electricity as he reappeared directly in front of Max, his fist enveloped in crackling blue lightning. With a thunderous roar, he brought it down in a devastating strike aimed squarely at Max.
Killian’s speed was impressive, but it was no match for Max’s Three-Dimensional Body skill. Time seemed to slow as Max anticipated the trajectory of Killian’s attack, his eyes locking onto the incoming fist.
Without hesitation, he responded with a fist of his own.
Bang!
A fist coated in red flames collided with a fist covered in blue lightning, sending sparks of lightning and flames scattering in all directions.
But it was easy to see who had the upper hand in this round. Max remained calm and composed, while Killian gritted his teeth, exerting more and more power into his strike.
Seeing the stalemate, the crowd watching the battle was shocked. For three years, there hadn’t been a single individual who could match Killian in any way, yet Max seemed to be easily blocking his attack as if it were nothing, while Killian struggled to counter Max’s fist.
“Killian seems to be losing the first round.”
“Who knew Max would be this strong? He even responded to Killian’s lightning-fast attack as if it were just a normal punch.”
“Huh, this is just the beginning. It doesn’t mean anything. Killian will surely teach Max a lesson he won’t forget for the rest of his life.”
“True. He must be testing Max’s strength. Now that he knows what Max can do, I believe he won’t go easy on him.”
The crowd had different opinions about the scene unfolding before them, but they all understood one thing: Max should not be underestimated.
Near the center of the battlefield, a figure with violet hair was also watching the battle. If Max were here, he would certainly recognize the figure—it was none other than Lyra Dusckshade.
Her eyes were incredibly solemn, glued to the screen, her entire attention focused on the battle before her.
On the other hand, near Max’s cube, the faces of the Blade Family members appeared grim. They hadn’t expected Killian to be forced back on the very first round of their battle.
Allen’s eyes were calm as he watched the battle, while the rest of the family members appeared restless. Even Elena was shaken by Max’s strength. She hadn’t expected Max to grow this fast after escaping from her the last time.
“This guy sure is strong,” Nash said, smiling.

“But this isn’t enough to defeat Killian,” Erica said with a chuckle. They knew better than anyone how strong Killian could be when he fought seriously.
On the screen, red flames and blue lightning surrounded the two opponents, but Killian clearly grew frustrated with the stalemate between them, despite putting everything he had into his punch.
Seeing this, he channeled all the lightning around his body into his two fists. His right fist, already covered in lightning, grew even more powerful, and his left fist also became coated in lightning.
Then, he pulled his fists back and punched again, his movements lightning-quick.
Max, unwilling to back down, responded with a fist of his own.
Bang!
Once again, their fists collided, sending flames and lightning in all directions. But it wasn’t over.
Killian unleashed punch after punch, each one crackling with blue lightning as he pressed his relentless assault. Max remained calm and composed, effortlessly blocking every blow. Yet, Killian showed no signs of slowing down, his fists flying in an unending barrage that echoed across the battlefield.
With every clash, blue lightning and red flames erupted in dazzling bursts, illuminating the battlefield and scorching the ground. The intense energy rippled outward, creating a chaotic mix of light and heat as their battle raged on.
They were like blue and red blur of light on the battlefield wherever they went the ground beneath them charred black by their clash.
But no matter how hard he tried, Killian’s attacks were blocked by Max.
“Tch,” Killian clicked his tongue in frustration and retreated from Max.
Max also stepped back, seeing that. “Is this all you’ve got?” he asked.
Killian sneered. “The real battle hasn’t even started yet.” He smirked as blue lightning began to dance around his body again, this time condensing around specific parts of him, forming a lightning armor of sorts.
Lightning surged around Killian’s body, coalescing into a gleaming suit of armor. His entire waist was enveloped in crackling blue energy, and from his fingers to his elbows, jagged lightning formed into protective gauntlets on both hands.
The same transformation occurred with his legs, as arcs of electricity solidified into an intimidating armor that extended from his thighs to his feet, radiating raw power with every spark.
A sword then appeared in Killian’s hand as he looked at Max. “The real battle begins now.”
Max nodded, looking him up and down. “That’s a serious increase in strength. What level of skill is that? Epic? Legendary? You certainly look like a knight in shining armor now. No denying it.”
Killian ignored Max’s words and spoke indifferently, his tone arrogant. “Take out your weapon and show me your strongest form. Only by defeating you in your strongest state will you understand the difference between us—the difference between someone from the Blade Family and a nobody.”
Max smirked at his words. “Does it look like I need to use my weapon or unleash my full strength to defeat someone like you? No. Come at me with everything you’ve got.”
