Chapter 90: Chaos in the Central City – 1
The spherical force field surrounding Max shot toward the ground after being struck by the attack of the blurred figure.
Crash!
It crashed into the horde of monsters and hunters locked in combat.
“Look, something fell from the sky! Huh? Why do I feel like I’ve seen him somewhere?”
“Damn, he could fly and was fighting those monsters in the air?”
“He’s only around 15 years old, and he could fly?”
“It must be a skill or his class. Anyway, we should focus on the monsters on the ground.”
The hunters were momentarily surprised by the young figure crashing before them, but they weren’t concerned, as he was protected by the spherical force field.
“Damn, that thing is fast,” Max muttered, his eyes narrowing as he focused on the air, where he saw the monster that had attacked him.
It looked like a mantis, its four sharp, blade-like limbs outstretched, with two additional limbs for legs. It was flying with violently rotating wings, nearly invisible to the naked eye.
“A mantis?” Max muttered, assessing the monster. “Its strength is at level 7 of the Apprentice Rank.” He smiled as five small swords materialized before him.
“Don’t!” A shout caught Max’s attention, and he saw a figure in the air, engaged in combat with the flying monsters, killing them before they could interfere with the battle on the ground.
Max smiled, recognizing the figure. He understood the warning, but he knew this mantis-type monster was no match for him.
Swish!
Just as he thought this, the mantis-type monster moved. Its figure blurred, and it appeared before Max, ready to deliver another blow.
But Max was prepared for its super-fast attack. Using his Three Dimensional Body skill, Max tracked its movements and trajectory, sending his five small swords to strike.
The five small swords shot into the air, their trajectories intertwining in a deadly, precise dance as they encircled the mantis-like creature.
In an instant, they crisscrossed the mantis’s body with lightning speed, leaving faint blue lines etched across the creature’s form.
For a brief moment, the mantis remained suspended in midair, the glowing lines flickering before its body abruptly split apart. Chunks of its form scattered as the severed pieces fell to the ground.
‘It’s dead,’ Max thought, shifting his focus to the middle-aged man who was fighting alone in the air, fending off the flying monsters.
He launched ice arrows and occasionally flying spears at the monsters, killing them effortlessly, but there were too many flying monsters for one man to handle.
Seeing this, Max flew into the air and appeared beside him.
“Need any help?” Max asked the middle-aged man, who had long blue hair down to his shoulders, piercing purple eyes, and wore a long black cloak.
The blue-haired man turned to Max. “You sure are strong for a level 1 Apprentice Rank, but I think you should go and help those on the ground. They’re having a harder time than me up here.”
Max glanced down at the ground before turning back to him. “I will, but let me take care of this first.” He said, as hundreds of small flying swords appeared around him.
The blue-haired man was shocked by this, retreating slightly, feeling the aura emanating from Max.
Using the Three Dimensional Body skill, Max locked onto nearly all the flying monsters, aiming at them and attacking.
Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish!
The hundreds of flying swords shot toward the flying monsters with swift precision. In the blink of an eye, they formed a dazzling array of blue light, weaving through the air like a storm of deadly meteors, each one finding its mark.
The swords pierced wings, skulls, and bodies with unerring accuracy. The monsters screeched in agony as they were torn apart mid-flight, their lifeless forms plummeting to the ground below.

Within moments, the once-overwhelming swarm of flying monsters had been reduced to nothing but falling debris, their numbers obliterated by the relentless assault of the swords.
The blue-haired man was stunned. He hadn’t expected the young man before him to possess such strength. But after staring at his face for a moment he recognized him.
“Kid, you’re strong, but I really didn’t need your help,” the blue-haired man said, feeling a little embarrassed that a junior had to take care of his tasks. He was a level 5 Adept Rank and his strength was enough to handle all those monsters in the air.
Max turned to him. “We should eliminate all these monsters as quickly as possible and regroup with the guilds,” he said solemnly.
He added asking. “What’s the situation here?”
The blue-haired man sighed and, introducing himself, explained, “I’m one of the 30 generals of Central City. You can call me General Gale.” He continued, explaining the situation. “When the tear in the void appeared, I, along with the other generals of Central City, was immediately sent to this part of the city by our leader.”
He added, “At that time, I didn’t know why he ordered us to be stationed here when the main problem was near the tear, but now I understand. He probably wanted all the generals to clear out the monsters that escaped outside the dome.”
Max nodded, considering this. “Then who is handling the monsters inside the dome?” he asked.
General Gale replied, “It’s the Marshals, Commanders, and Warlords. They should be handling the monsters inside the dome with the top five guilds and the four families.”
“What about the people living in these areas and in the dome?” Max asked, concern rising in him. If the entire city became a battlefield, the citizens would face the worst of it.
He understood that there were still many people who didn’t like to fight and numerous other people who weren’t hunters. A situation like a dungeon break was the worst case scenario for them.
General Gale smiled proudly. “Don’t worry about them. Situations like this have happened before, though never on such a large scale. Still, we were prepared.”
He continued, “Central City is based on a large-scale rune formation. So, if dungeons appear in any area, the citizens and people with low strength—or those who aren’t hunters—will automatically be teleported to a safe bunker.”
Max nodded in understanding, his eyes flashing with appreciation for the efforts of Union Vanguard and Rune Tower. ‘It seems like when people say the Core Circle is the safest place to live in the East Region, it wasn’t just talk.’
He turned his attention back to the monsters on the ground. “Let’s take care of the monsters on the ground first before deciding what to do,” he said, as he floated down to a position just above them.
Using his Three Dimensional Body skill, Max’s eyes honed in on each of the monsters, locking onto them. Hundreds of small swords once again appeared before him as he used the Magic Sword Bullets skill.
“Go!” Max shouted lightly as he launched his attack.
The hundreds of small swords rained down on the monsters like blue lasers, their speed and precision unmatched. The blades tore through the air, drilling into the monsters’ bodies with devastating force.
Some creatures were split cleanly apart, their halves collapsing in opposite directions. Others were shredded into unrecognizable pieces, their remains scattering across the battlefield.
A few were pinned to the ground, the swords piercing through them like unyielding spears, anchoring their lifeless forms to the earth.
