Chapter 93: Chaos in the Central City – 4
Max turned his attention toward the Dracovore and observed the red, glowing core near its maw. ‘It’s still charging.’
Noticing that the creature was still charging its attack, Max decided to prepare for his own.
He used the Magic Sword Barrage skill, and a hundred blue glowing swords appeared around him, each emanating a deadly aura.
But this wasn’t what he wanted.
Max glanced at the hundred swords glowing with a bluish hue and muttered, “Combine.”
As if responding to an unspoken command, the swords began to move. One by one, they merged, each blade attaching seamlessly to another as though drawn together by an invisible force.
The glowing swords began to combine with each other in perfect synchronization, their blue light intensifying with every fusion.
With each passing moment, the number of swords began to dwindle as they merged. Each fusion reduced their count but amplified their power, making the fused sword stronger than the previous ones.
The process continued for a few seconds until it was finally complete.
What remained before him was no longer a collection of hundred swords, but a single massive sword, the size of his body, pulsating with a radiant blue glow.
“This isn’t enough,” Max muttered as he used the Magic Sword Bullets skill.
Immediately, another hundred swords appeared before him, but this time, each sword was only the size of his palm, glowing with blue light.
However, once again, the same thing happened.
The hundreds of small swords surged toward the massive bluish sword, as if drawn by an invisible force. One by one, they seamlessly attached themselves to its surface, their glow merging with the larger blade’s radiance.
The process was smooth and fluid, each sword locking into place as though it belonged there, the synchronization almost hypnotic.
It all happened in mere moments, far quicker than the last time. With each sword that joined, the colossal weapon grew larger, its aura more overwhelming.
By the time the final sword melded into the blade, its size had nearly doubled, towering over Max and emanating a fearsome energy that seemed to ripple through the air, shaking the very ground beneath him.
“Once more,” Max muttered as a hundred small blue glowing dots appeared around him after using the Magic Bullets skill.
Like the last two times, the hundreds of blue glowing dots swarmed toward the massive sword, moving with an almost hive-like precision. They surrounded the blade, their light intensifying as they converged.
One by one, they attached themselves to the sword’s surface, their glow merging seamlessly into the weapon.
The process happened swiftly, as though the sword eagerly absorbed the energy being offered to it.
By the end, the colossal blade pulsed with newfound power, enough to make Max focus his entire attention on it.
“It’s very strong, but this is still not enough.” Max muttered, a crazed expression appearing on his face.
Without hesitation, he added Sword Aura into it, causing an additional layer of blue glow to appear on the long sword, increasing its sharpness even further.
But he wasn’t satisfied with that and added Flame Aura as well.
A red glow appeared on the edges of the long sword before it spread throughout, causing it to glow alternatively between red and blue.
“This is good, but I think I can handle one more thing.” Max muttered, after checking his surroundings, and added black flames to the sword.
The purple-glowing long sword soon blazed with black flames, causing the energy behind the blade to reach such a level that it began to tremble in the air.
The long sword, now full of black flames, floated quietly in the air before him.
“This is peak!” Max muttered, his face overwhelmed with fascination.

With that, he turned his attention to the Dracovore, which had also fully charged its red pulsating core. “Die.”
With those words, Max made his move.
The long blade, blazing with black flames, tore through the air with such speed that it was invisible to the naked eye, streaking like a flash of black light.
In an instant, it appeared before the Dracovore, closing the distance in the blink of an eye.
The blade pierced through the Dracovore’s head, obliterating it completely before carving through its body and severing it cleanly in two.
Both halves of the creature lay scorched, their ends engulfed in black flames, with its entire interior reduced to nothingness by the sword’s devastating power.
“Damn! What the hell is the attack power?!” Max exclaimed, astonished by the sheer force of his attack. It didn’t just kill the Dracovore—it obliterated it completely.
“A level 5 Adept Rank monster killed just like that,” Max muttered in astonishment, his eyes glancing at the long blade stabbed into the ground, still radiating with power.
With one swift motion, the blade flew back and appeared in front of Max.
‘Its aura has decreased a lot, but it hasn’t diminished completely. Not yet.’ He inspected the blade, glancing at the remains of the Dracovore. ‘I guess I overdid it.’ He smiled excitedly.
With a flick of his hand, the long blade disintegrated into nothingness, and Max made his way to the remains of the Dracovore.
“General Gale mentioned the Dracovore contains the legendary bloodline of a dragon,” Max muttered, his eyes flashing as black flames appeared in his palms.
Without much thought, he slammed his fist, full of black flames, into the ground. This caused the black flames to spread to every part of the Dracovore’s remains, including its blood.
“Devour.”
Max activated the ability of his black flames.
The black flames consumed every trace of energy from the Dracovore’s remains—its blood, mana, and even its bones—funneling all of it into his body, leaving behind nothing but a hollowed corpse, utterly drained and devoid of life.
On the other hand, Max felt a surge of overwhelming power coursing through his body, each fragment of the Dracovore’s essence amplifying his strength and vitality.
The energy fused with him seamlessly, invigorating every fiber of his being and pushing his limits further than ever before.

[Congratulations to Max Voidwalker for leveling up to Level 3 of Apprentice Rank.]
A bunch of notifications quickly appeared before his eyes, leaving Max surprised.
He hadn’t expected to level up anytime soon, and leveling up twice at once really took him by surprise.
The increase in his basic stats, though also unexpected, was welcomed joyfully by Max, while he had hoped for getting some Draconic Essence from the Dracovore when he decided to devour it.
“It seems I can find Draconic Essence in those monsters who possess a dragon bloodline,” Max muttered, musing as he glanced at the hollowed corpse of the Dracovore. ‘I devoured everything from it.’ He thought grimly.
Having understood the power of his black flames, he grimaced lightly. ‘No wonder they call it the way of the evil.’
“Alright, let’s leave this area,” Max muttered as he floated up and flew off in the direction where he had seen red flames puffed into a mushroom cloud-like explosion.
But as he took off, he noticed several hunters fighting desperately against many monsters some distance away. He paused, seeing they were losing the battle.
Max used his Magic Sword Bullets skill a few times, killing all the monsters in that area before continuing his flight toward his destination.
However, it was only then that he saw the true scale of the dungeon break. No matter where his eyes went, all he saw was battle, chaos, smoke rising, flames burning, and the corpses of hunters and monsters scattered alike in what appeared to be an apocalyptic city.
It was a horrifying sight to behold.
