Dimensional Storekeeper - Chapter 23
23: The Store’s Very First Employee!
23: The Store’s Very First Employee!
Hao didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, he asked.
“What’s your name?” “Mo Xixi.” She didn’t see the point in saying more.
The contract even stated that she wasn’t required to disclose any personal information to the owner.
Hao had already known her name, but he still felt the need to ask.
‘System, how does the signing process work?’ [She must offer a drop of her blood to the contract, host.
The contract will absorb it and finalize the binding process.] “Just drop a bit of your blood on the paper, and the contract is done.” Mo Xixi nodded absentmindedly but paused as she glanced back at the contract.
“…” In the lowest-left corner, her name was already there!
She clearly remembered that part of the contract was blank just seconds ago.
But after saying her name out loud, it had suddenly appeared?
How?
Hao didn’t even touch the contract.
She squinted at Hao.
He hadn’t touched the contract or even gotten close to it.
Just how mysterious was this storekeeper?
Still, the deal was too good to pass up.
Mo Xixi bit her finger, allowing a drop of blood drip onto the contract.
The paper glowed faintly before floating out of her hands and hovering in front of Hao.
‘System, what do I do now?’ ‘Do I need to drop blood on it too?’ There’s no way, right?
Physically, he could do it.
He had teeth, after all.
But mentally?
That was a whole other battle.
Maybe he could use a knife?
[No, host.
Simply place your palm on the paper to seal the contract.
That will signify your agreement to hire her.] ‘Oh.
That’s definitely better.’ Hao pressed his palm onto the floating paper.

The radiance intensified, engulfing his hand in a soft glow before – Whoosh!
The light vanished in an instant, taking the contract with it.
[Congratulations, host!
You have successfully hired your first employee.
Mo Xixi’s uniform and name tag have been delivered to the storage area.
Please continue working hard to grow the store!] Hao smiled and turned to Mo Xixi.
“Well, looks like you’re officially hired.” “Welcome aboard, Little Xixi.” Mo Xixi blinked.
The name threw her off more than the fact that she was now employed.
Before she could protest, Hao interrupted.
“You don’t have to call me boss.
Just call me Big Brother.” “…I’ll stick with boss.” Hao chuckled.
“That’s fine too.
You can start working now if you want.” Mo Xixi wasn’t even surprised anymore that the contract had disappeared into thin air like some divine decree.
What truly baffled her was how fast everything had happened.
This morning, she was jobless, homeless, and trying to figure out where to get her next meal.
Now, she had a job, guaranteed pay, food, and even a place to stay if she wanted?
…Wasn’t this basically a miracle?
Mo Xixi exhaled, trying to process it all.
She gave a small nod.
“I want to work today, boss.
Uh… what exactly am I supposed to do?” Hao smirked.
“Follow me first.
We’ll get you changed into your uniform.” ‘Uniform?’ Hao led Mo Xixi to the storage area.
The moment she stepped inside, her eyes widened.
The space was massive – far larger than the store itself.
Hao immediately spotted a new box resting neatly on the floor.
Opening it, he found a complete set of uniforms inside.
A crisp black polo shirts, black high-waisted slacks, spotless white aprons, white socks, and pairs of polished black horsebit loafers.
Sitting atop the neatly folded clothes was a single name tag, crafted from a silver-colored metal, with ‘Mo Xixi’ elegantly inscribed in black lettering.
Hao whistled.
‘Damn.
The store really went all out.’ Mo Xixi’s fingers twitched as she stared at the uniform.
It was hers.
Her own.
She held back her emotions, but her eyes couldn’t hide her excitement.
Even the little metal piece with her name engraved on it made her heart flutter.
“Little Xixi, put on your uniform first.
I’ll head back to the storefront.
Just follow after.” Mo Xixi hesitated before giving a small nod.
“You don’t have to tell me, boss.
I know.” She grabbed a polo and looked away.
A quiet “Thank you.” slipped out, barely louder than a whisper.
Hao’s smile grew.
Mo Xixi was still trying to act tough, but he could tell how much this meant to her.
He had no idea how difficult her life had been, surviving alone, but maybe… at least now, she had found a place to belong.
Hao left.
Mo Xixi, now alone, took a closer look at the uniform.
She rubbed the fabric between her fingers and her brows lifted slightly.
The material was high quality – smooth, durable, and comfortable to the touch.
She wasn’t an expert, but even she could tell this was better than anything she had worn before.
She quickly changed, slipping into each piece one by one, but as she did, something felt… off.
Everything fit.
Perfectly.
The polo hugged her just right, the slacks weren’t too tight or too loose, and even the loafers felt like they had been custom-made for her feet.
Her movements slowed as a thought crept in.
How did Hao know her exact sizes?
She stopped.
Was he a pervert this whole time?
…No.
No, that didn’t seem right.
She had watched him closely – his eyes didn’t carry that kind of intent.
Still, it was weird.
Too weird.
Mo Xixi huffed.
Never mind.
Overthinking wouldn’t help.
She picked up her name tag.
‘Mo Xixi’ was written at the top, and below it, in smaller letters, was ‘Store Crew.’ ‘How do I wear this?’ She had seen Hao’s name tag – it was on the left side of his chest.
Mimicking that, she held it against her uniform.
As it drew near, it automatically embedded itself into the fabric.
‘Hm?’ Curious, Mo Xixi jogged a few steps, then jumped in place.
The name tag stayed perfectly in place, as if it had fused with the uniform.
The clothes themselves were comfortable – light, breathable, and offering no restriction to her movements.
She was confident she could fight at full strength in this.
She tried removing her name tag, and to her surprise, it came off effortlessly.
Is there some kind of formation on this?
She already suspected the storage area had a spatial formation – there was no way it should be this big otherwise.
But even the name tag had one?
How extravagant!
