Divine Emperor of Death - Chapter 4249
Chapter 4249: Safely Ended?
Knowing this information, everything changed in Davis’s perspective.
He felt like he could leave everything in the Lower Realms to his son and laze around or go to the Upper Realms eventually, but it seemed like his son would be met with a cruel fate if he were to enter the Empyrean Stage.
The Solar Apocalypse Physique was highly volatile. Whenever it bursts, it ends up increasing the user’s cultivation base by one or two levels in the initial stages. It wasn’t temporary, different from the time when climate influenced his physique. This was why Lucian was always ahead of others in terms of cultivation base. The time chamber was also a positive factor in his speedy cultivation.
Now that he got to the Immortal King Stage, it was relatively slower but still faster than others.
In a resource-rich area, his cultivation speed would only be second to that of Vereina.
Therefore, when his son enters the Empyrean Stage, the bursts from the physique alone will slowly improve his cultivation base. Perhaps it would take hundreds and thousands of years, but eventually, even if Lucian did nothing, he would reach Level Three Empyrean Stage and die in the most blazing way after a Lunar Eclipse.
Davis’s expression churned.
This was not good news.
When he turned to look back, he saw everyone also heard it. Niera’s expression was pale.
Lucian opened his eyes and blinked. Eventually, he heaved a sigh and shook his head before returning to meditation.
It wasn’t anything new for him to hear about this kind of alarming news. From a young age, he was always told to control his physique, or the end result would be to go out in the worst way possible. It didn’t change anything for him.
Now, he supposed even the Third Layer of the True Immortal World would kill him if he went too far with his cultivation.
Azariel had been feeling quite down since his second brother surpassed him so easily. It wasn’t anything new since Lucian was always ahead during the final terms of their classes. However, with Lucian facing dangers like these, he could only imagine what he was going through, making him want to comfort him.
It was like the heavens were intentionally suppressing him.
‘That’s what a Divergent is…’ Azariel thought, knowing that his father was also in a similar situation.
Davis turned to look at Fairy Runalise.
He glared at her, but slowly, his expression turned complicated, “None of us knew this information. Indirectly, you saved my child from going through a cruel fate, I owe you one.”
He said in a thankful tone. The others also looked somewhat impressed, improving their opinion of her a bit.
“Really?” Fairy Runalise raised her brows, “Then kill yourself.”
“I’m not that stupid though.” Davis wryly smiled.
Fairy Runalise cast a side glance at him as though she knew he wouldn’t before she scoffed.
“I didn’t help you. I saved the people who would die from his vain death. I could care less if he died or not.”
“You-!” Niera scowled.
But Davis raised his hand to stop her and everyone else, who looked as though they had enough.
“As a Heaven’s Warrior, she has the right to spew hate about Divergents- as long as she doesn’t use her hands to make a point, that is.”
“…”
Niera and the others could only remain silent. They didn’t know why he had her here but knew he had some kind of plan. The only ones who knew about this matter were the ones who were with him when he imprisoned Fairy Runalise, and even then, they said they didn’t know much other than that it was one of Davis’s crazy experiments.
In the end, they didn’t know what he was doing but knew he wouldn’t put anyone in danger.
Fairy Runalise no longer said another word. She simply glanced at Lucian, her gaze lingering for two seconds before she turned around and left towards the city.
“Don’t worry, Legion Master. My gaze will never leave her.”

“Thanks, Threelotus. That invisible soul wall to prevent her from attacking using soul force was an extremely good move.”
“Hehe~”
Threelotus giggled at getting praised. She turned to look at Fairy Runalise before she waved him goodbye and left.
Davis could only shake his head ruefully.
Threelotus never acted like a warrior. She was in her own world, but her instincts were sharp, and her talent was greater than Yotan. However, she didn’t like cultivating for a long time, so she never really caught up to Yotan and was deemed lazy by Yotan.
However, he doubted that talent was still the same as before, considering they were now Empyreans. Their talent might’ve been lowered and equalized. After all, the higher one goes, the more difficult it is to use talent as stairs.
Nonetheless, he went back to his family, soothed their hearts, held a discussion on the grandstand, and told all of them to be ready.
They didn’t ask many questions and nodded.
After the Winter Lunar Eclipse ended, Lucian fainted while being seated.
It seemed like his body was severely drained of energy, a side-effect of having nearly unlimited energy from the Solar Reverence.
Davis lifted him up and brought him back to a lone palace for safety purposes.
He healed him using life energy. He was careful not to use much strength since he never tried to harm Lucian anyway, but his body was innately strong, so he guessed there would be a lot of dull pain. Still, even after he healed Lucian, he remained sleeping like a log, causing Niera to finally smile. She had been too worried, and hearing that her son was fated for doom was even more soul-crushing that she almost screamed why her son needed to endure such pain and suffering.
Fortunately, she was able to keep herself calm since everyone supported her through this mess, and her son had also grown to be a fine man or was growing into one, capable of facing challenges through the hardship he had endured from a very young age.
“Don’t worry about him.” Davis rubbed Niera’s cheek, “Lucian can take care of himself. Let’s make another baby.”
“…”
Niera went speechless before she giggled, “Now I know why everyone calls you rogue.”
Davis grinned, “But seriously, you need to stop worrying as that is my zone. Now, be ready to go out with your sisters.”
“I will…” Niera nodded sweetly, “By the way- that offer about making another baby… is it still available?”
She asked him, her voice squeezing to the utmost limit until it was a mosquito’s sound.
“What’s that? I can’t hear properly.”
Davis leaned closer.
Niera glared at him, her cheeks flushing. She was about to explain but jumped at him. The two of them made out before Niera finally realized her son was still sleeping soundly by the side.
“Ah~ Not here~”
==========
In a vast land, the scent of scorched earth still lingered in the air.
Though months had passed since the apocalyptic flame spirit had descended upon the Verdant Vale Sect, its wrath had left deep scars upon the land.
Once, this city had been a bustling hub for martial prowess, but now, not a single shadow of a disciple could be seen. This place was known for emerald canopies that stretched over glistening rivers, and mist-wreathed peaks cradling a sect known for its mastery over the wind.
But now, the greenery had barely returned and there was nearly no sect except for a few structures.
At the grand entrance of the sect, towering jade gates stood tall, their surface inscribed with golden runes pulsing with ethereal light. A man in white robes stepped forward, forming a hand seal. Instantly, an intricate web of shimmering formations flared to life.
From the outermost layer, illusion formations shrouded the sect in an ever-changing mirage, turning its appearance into a barren wasteland or a simple mountain ridge, warding off prying eyes. Beyond that, defensive formations hummed with an ancient power, interwoven with runes of deflection and barriers that could withstand even the mightiest of calamities.
Hidden deeper still were killing formations. They were silent and unseen, waiting like coiled vipers, ready to rip apart any who dared trespass.
At the heart of the sect, atop the newly reconstructed structures and the tunnel leading to the Realm Core, Venerable Knight Foredawn stood with his hands clasped behind his back, his eyes sweeping across the sect. In the windy region, his red hair flailed like a lion’s mane while he possessed a mustache, making him appear incredibly manly.
He maintained a vigilant gaze, hoping for the target to appear a few times a day before he went out to search by himself.
However, all actions he took were as helpless as the other Venerable Knights.
No matter what he did and where he went, there was no sign of the target.
Like yesterday, he stepped forward and took to the skies, intending to go out on a search to another location. However, his expression didn’t seem excited or passionate like the first time he had come here. His expression was indifferent.
But suddenly, he stopped and picked up a messaging talisman from his spatial ring.
“Quick! Use the Golden Pagoda! The Divine Emperor of Death has appeared!”
