Chapter 4284: No Evidence Of Wrongdoing?
Davis appeared in front of a flying boat that was speeding. He raised one hand as he formed a multi-layered soul force that acted as a cushion and slowed down its momentum to the very limit, causing a blue-robed woman to fly out and glare at him with her white eyes.
“What did you do!?”
Her voice rose to a pitch higher as she flew closer to him.
“Relax. Didn’t you just hear it from Elder Nonek?” Davis raised his hands in surrender.
“…”
Fairy Runalise stopped in her tracks, her bosoms heaving. She looked both speechless and furious, still unable to believe what he had just done.
As soon as she came out, she contacted Elder Nonek to find out if he knew any about the situation.
Turns out that news of the Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm and the Verdant Vale Lower Realm falling had already spread in the evening, and by now, it was already night. Furthermore, the Divine Emperor of Death defeated all the Venerable Knights and made one of them sign an agreement with him that almost sounded like a peace treaty for an unknown amount of time.
It was ridiculous, making her not know what to say as she stared at him with numerous emotions.
“How is that? I defeated the Venerable Knights. Now, you should no longer feel that your defeat is not without warrant, right?”
Davis seemed easygoing and even happy, considering what she did before, trying to expose the location of the mini-realm by making the Venerable Hollow Knight come to her.
“I don’t care about that. What do they mean that you conquered the Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm and Verdant Vale Lower Realm? How did you even usurp the Realm Cores? The Verdant Vale Lower Realm’s Realm Core did not accept-”
“…” Davis smiled lightly as he saw her go silent.
“Yeah, it might be what you think it is. Calypsea is an existence that can burn realms, but she can also usurp them. How convenient, right?”
“…!”
Fairy Runalise’s gaze flickered with shock.
She didn’t know what to say anymore. She looked at his handsome face which carried a carefree smile, thinking he was unstoppable in the lower realms since he managed to defeat the Venerable Knights. There were higher titled Heaven’s Warriors but there was no point in them descending to the lower realms since they retain the same quality of Laws these Venerable Knights possess.
If the Divine Emperor of Death survived against all nine of them, then she couldn’t think how they would fare any better unless they had the absolute counter against him.
However, there didn’t seem to be anything like that.
Even the Venerable Hollow Knight, whom she saw as undefeatable, was defeated.
It was incredulous. As a Heaven’s Warrior who was aware of the Venerable Hollow Knight’s achievements, she found it hard to comprehend.
“Are you not happy?” Davis blinked, “Because of you, I ended this as peacefully as possible.”
“Because of me…?”
Fairy Runalise frowned, not comprehending what he was saying. She was yet to come to terms with what he had done already.
How come Venerable Knight Lussandra formed an agreement with him just like the Celestial Transcendent formed a covenant with him? How come he spared the majority of the Heaven’s Warriors who came to kill him?
Could it be that he was a good person even if the heavens determined his nature was evil?
The Heaven’s Warriors never compromise with Anarchic Divergents but this person was different. She recalled what he said about the Celestial Transcendent, that they were not the heaven’s slaves but true Heaven’s Warriors.
“Yeah.” Davis nodded as though it was a matter of act, “You showed me Heaven’s Warriors are not to be believed, but you did warn me of my son’s problem. I owe you one for that.”
“But since I’m also benefiting from this deal, I guess I cannot clear the debt I owe to you fully.”
Davis looked annoyed as his smile left, “Now, what are you here for? Go back. Your only job is to keep me in check, isn’t it? I even stayed back to deal with any calamities that might appear after the aftermath of my battle with the Venerable Knights but so far, none appeared.”

“I can’t. I must see the aftermath for myself and deal with the calamities accordingly.”
Fairy Runalise somehow managed to recollect herself.
The information she received was too convoluted. She needed to see with her own eyes. As a Heaven’s Warrior from the Sacred Crusade League, she can still be here, unlike the Heaven’s Warriors of the Divine Sentinel Order.
Quickly, she flew back to her flying boat.
However, Davis appeared in front of her and caught her wrist.
“You-”
“I don’t want you to be exposed.”
Davis looked solemn, “If people know that you are near me but haven’t dealt with me, they’ll kill you for acting like a traitor even though you have your reasons. I don’t want to see you die-”
“- vainly.”
He almost said ‘die before my experiment succeeds’ before he changed his tone and softly uttered.
“…”
Fairy Runalise stared at him with her empty white eyes. She looked as though she was at a loss for words before she pushed his hand away with a flick of her hand and glared at him.
“I won’t meet with your main body. I’m just going to check the battlefield to see if you have truly committed evil. At that time, I will no longer keep my word to you even if our contract kills me.”
“…”
Davis blinked.
He almost forgot about the other parts of the True Soul Contract he exchanged with her. There was a condition stating that she could not expose his home’s location after all.
In any case, he knew he didn’t kill innocents, so he let her go.
As he hovered, Fairy Runalise’s flying boat took off. He followed her all the way until they reached the Great Violent Wildlands, where they saw his main body chill with a corpse-like figure.
He seemed to be maimed from head to toe, his skin missing, and his kidneys hung over his hips like they were big pockets. The sight of it was extremely gruesome, but the man seemed to be alive and not dead since blood didn’t flow out of his body in copious amounts.
With his cultivation also intact, the chances of him recovering were higher than the chances of dying.
Even then, Fairy Runalise knew the pain he must be enduring would be immense.
“Isn’t that the Ghostly Crow Realm Master…?” She muttered under her breath.
However, knowing that the Divine Emperor of Death already declared war against him, she didn’t think he was an innocent party in this battle, so she ignored him and surveyed the battlefield. She didn’t find any remnants of unrelated personnel, and she scoured around the land, finding supreme geniuses and asking them what had happened personally.
There were also other Heaven’s Warriors in small numbers, but they looked solemn, even horrified to remain here.
It was as though what they witnessed was nothing short of a nightmare, the Venerable Knights being defeated one after another while a crazy woman sought to shred them to pieces like she was throwing them into a grinder.
She was advised to leave since there was no telling what the Divine Emperor of Death would do next. There were no female Heaven’s Warriors in this place, and he was known to be a womanizer.
However, Fairy Runalise felt a bit of warmth, knowing that the Divine Emperor of Death would do nothing of that sort. She knew her eyes did not mistake her, and her decisions didn’t fail her since they seemed to have some effect on him. Otherwise, she felt like he wouldn’t have spared the Heaven’s Warriors.
She carried on with her investigation.
In the end, she found nothing incriminating. She even thought that there would be indirect casualties of innocents which couldn’t be used to incriminate but still, there was nothing, leaving her at a loss on what to do.
