Chapter 341: Ch-341: Rankings
Boom! Boom! Boom!
One golden arc after another erupted from Wang Ming’s sword as he kept swinging it tirelessly. Even Min Li was left completely dumbstruck.
‘Does he have unlimited spiritual energy reserves or what?!’ Min Li wondered in disbelief.
If Wang Ming could hear her thoughts, he would definitely disagree. The reason he could spam attacks like this was because this was a virtual world — the spiritual energy consumption here was much lower compared to the real world. Additionally, the attacks he unleashed were weaker versions of his real techniques, but because the virtual world’s terrain and creatures were also far more fragile, they produced devastating results nonetheless.
Within minutes, the entire forest was razed. All the beasts and even most players had perished, leaving behind a massive crater. The only place left intact was the small patch of ground where they stood.
“Umm… didn’t you overdo it a bit?” Min Li asked as she looked at Wang Ming speechlessly. Still, she remained surprisingly calm — her mind had already been forced to adjust after witnessing so many mind-blowing things in such a short time.
“Overdo? Overdo your head! Why — and how — are you reacting so normally?!” Tang Nian shouted, furiously pointing her trembling finger at Min Li and then at the devastated landscape. If previously she had been looking down on Wang Ming, her attitude had now shifted 180 degrees. She looked at Wang Ming with completely different eyes, knowing full well that she could never do what he had just done.
The entire forest was gone. Instead of trees and greenery, it looked as though a massive meteor had fallen and obliterated everything in sight.
“What’s the point of reacting? This is artificial; the forest will reset in a few hours anyway. And besides, I’ve seen even more outrageous things from him. Honestly, this is only mildly chaotic compared to the kind of trouble he usually brings,” Min Li said with a shrug, making Tang Nian glare at her in disbelief.
“Hey, hey! You’re slandering me!” Wang Ming protested, trying to defend himself — though deep down, he knew her words were probably true.
“Really? What about all the partners you ‘stole’? What about that death match? What about your duel with Bai Lingxi?” Min Li asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Well… those were still mild compared to this,” Wang Ming retorted with a smirk.
“This is a virtual world. Even if you destroy the entire thing, it wouldn’t matter. Tell me I’m wrong,” Min Li teased with a grin. Wang Ming’s eyebrow twitched.
“… ”
Wang Ming played his trump card — the right to remain silent — and refused to respond.
“Tsk.” Min Li clicked her tongue in amusement when she saw him clam up.
“By the way, Disciple Wang Ming, would you mind telling me your current in-game cultivation?” Tang Nian, who had been silent all this time, couldn’t help but ask. Her tone was much more polite now, having realized the disparity between them.
‘He could probably go toe-to-toe with my sister,’ Tang Nian thought as she eyed the masked person beside her.
If Tang Nian could hear her own thoughts, she might not have been as confident, given that her sister had met Wang Ming in the secret realm few months ago.
“My cultivation? It’s at the Foundation Realm… well, not exactly, since it’s still increasing,” Wang Ming replied to Tang Nian, feeling his cultivation rise as a result of killing so many monsters — he had probably killed at least a thousand by now.
Tang Nian furrowed her brows when she heard this, glanced back at Wang Ming, and something suddenly clicked in her mind.
‘Foundation Realm… Red aura…’ At first, when she sensed the red aura — which could only be gained by killing players — she hadn’t thought too much of it. But now, after hearing his cultivation level, realization dawned on her, and her face turned red in shock.
“You… you… it’s — you’re the one who stole my kill!” Tang Nian’s eyes widened in shock as she furiously pointed her delicate finger at Wang Ming. She couldn’t help but feel as if she’d just been slapped in the face, completely fooled.
‘Oh my heavens… no wonder they looked at me so strangely when I was cursing the person who got the kill first,’ Tang Nian thought, her face turning red with shame and anger. She glared fiercely at Wang Ming for making her look like a fool.
“Min Li! Why didn’t you tell me?!” Tang Nian turned toward Min Li, who was barely managing to stifle her laughter, the veins on her forehead bulging.
“You didn’t ask,” Min Li replied with a calm smile, thoroughly enjoying Tang Nian’s expression.
‘Didn’t ask? Didn’t ask my foot! Jerk, you’re supposed to be my friend — you should’ve warned me the person I was cursing was standing right in front of me!’ Tang Nian cursed inwardly.
“Alright, let’s head to the next area. First, I need to stock up on more beast-attracting orbs,” Wang Ming said, completely ignoring Tang Nian as he went to collect the monster cores — which remained intact despite the blasts — and then made his way back toward the shop.
“So, are you going to follow us or leave?” Min Li asked, chuckling.
“Ugh, I’ll stick with you guys for now,” Tang Nian snorted, crossing her arms as she reluctantly followed behind them.

Back in the meeting room, Jiang Hong and the others had returned after making sure Wang Ming was no longer leaking killing intent.
“Sigh, I hope he doesn’t give me any more surprises,” Jiang Hong muttered, and the elders around him nodded in agreement.
But the very next moment, their expressions froze as a series of notifications appeared in front of them:
