Chapter 810: The Last Wish (Part 1)
The Crimson Monarch knew well what fear was, it was a feeling he was as familiar with as despair.
Like any great fighter, he had to go through difficult moments in his life, to overcome them to become stronger.
But… seeing Adam’s last attack, his final trump card, he felt a very different emotion.
It seemed to the Crimson Monarch that his time came to an end like an old man willingly accepting the death that approached him after a long, fulfilling life.
‘No! That’s not going to happen! It’s too early for me to die! I’m not going to lose!’
The next instant, the Crimson Monarch’s eyes dipped downward, looking at the sword covered in white energy. The weapon as well as Adam moved at extreme speed as if he teleported from one point to another.
Thrust.
The tip of the sword slammed into the Crimson Monarch’s chest, dragging him forward.
The Crimson Monarch’s eyes narrowed as his regeneration kicked into full gear. Before the Crimson Monarch realized anything he was in the air, he didn’t know that Adam’s path could go in any dimension, not just the surface.
However, that was not what the Crimson Monarch was thinking about now – at every moment that was less than a fraction of a second he was on the verge of death.
‘NO! What kind of power is this?! If I stop regeneration for even a second, his energy will simply destroy me!’
The Crimson Monarch stared at Adam, seeing his calm blue eyes, sadness slowly filling them.
‘Adam! What kind of power is this?! What can I do to defeat you?!’
Many times in a single breath, a sword driven along the path tore through the Crimson Monarch’s chest, but no sooner had the blade reached the bone than the flesh was restored in scarlet streams.
The Dormant Lord, the Blind Sinner, Viron, Gnash, and the dozens of Phantoms who survived to this point watched the same scene.
A white stream like a rising star was heading upwards, trying to reach the dark sky, leaving behind dense streams of blood coming constantly from the Crimson Monarch’s eternal wound.
Eager to see the unique scene, even Katrin came out of a deep sleep. Her eyelids lifted with difficulty, her black eyes reflected two silhouettes, one used some of her power and was a loyal ally, but also an even greater rival.
The corners of her lips went up, forming a bitter smile, a hint of joy.
“Hah… looks like I finally figured it out…”
Her voice was hoarse, considering her exhaustion the fact that she was talking was already a miracle, but she was going to see it through to the end.
“It’s not about what abilities you have, what your initial gene or experience is… Near the stronger, you will always be the support, no matter how hard you seem to try to be someone else…”
With a deep sigh full of relief and disappointment, Katrin glanced at Adam’s confident face.
“Fuck you… You always make me number two, and I’m getting used to it… Especially when you’re on the battlefield…”
Strangely enough, there was no anger in her words, she realized that Adam deserved his place in their dynamic.
Then, Katrin’s eyes flashed, she saw that the Crimson Monarch was approaching his limit.
Though the path was almost immediate, the Crimson Monarch and Adam’s perception of time changed greatly, just like the onlookers, this scene would remain in their hearts.
Regeneration was powerful, but even Regenerative Monsters, having near immortality had limits.
His firm, elastic skin, like a young man’s, quickly began to dry, starting at his fingertips, and spreading along his arm.
The Crimson Monarch’s eyes went wide. It wasn’t a death sentence yet, but now his time was limited, he may only have a few moments left but he didn’t realize it yet.

‘I have to do something. I have to stop him. At any cost!’
At the same moment, thunderbolts rained down on Adam, but even their speed wasn’t enough to hit the target. The lightning bolts swept behind Adam as he continued down the path.
With each heartbeat, the Crimson Monarch’s skin lost its vital power, it wrinkled and cracked like an old man with a few days left in this world.
The sense of impending death drove him to extreme measures. There was no more room for thinking or planning – either he or Adam would die.
“Adam! You forced me to do this!”
Then, all the energy that was still in the Crimson Monarch rained down on Adam in thunderous discharges mixed with streams of blood.
A force great enough to tear Adam to atoms in an instant, but… not a fiber of Adam’s soul quivered. His confidence in his strength was absolute, as was the resilience of the path.
The Crimson Monarch’s attack failed to reach Adam, the white path preventing it from happening by working as an impenetrable barrier.
The stage when Adam was thinking of defeat had already passed, no longer did the Crimson Monarch have a chance to win, not against him.
The last electrical discharges shattered as well as the drops of blood, insignificant in front of the white flow.
Crackle.
The Crimson Monarch’s back touched the hard surface.
Following his path, Adam dragged the Crimson Monarch up to the majestic structure – they crashed into the top of the serpent spire.
With a deafening rumble like the bugle of a final clash, the debris flew off to the sides. The massive stones supporting the crimson crystal collapsed, the serpent statue shattered, taking the majesty of the spire into the void.
At the end, at the very top, only a few steps to plunge into the abyss, two silhouettes remained.
Both of them towered above all other beings, not only in space but in power and influence.
The fears and worries, the monsters’ desires to absorb the energy, and the phantoms’ attempts to survive, all no longer mattered before the finale of the two leaders on either side.
“Agh… Agh… Agh…”
The Crimson Monarch breathed heavily, not because of fatigue, but due to exhaustion from lost life force.
Now, Adam’s eyes reflected not a man full of vigor but an old man who reached his limit.
Soon, like welcome guests, the first rays of the sun fell on Adam’s left side of his face.
The dawn had arrived.
