Endless Evolution: Last Star - Chapter 817
Chapter 817: Three in One
Adam’s delighted exclamation made Moira flinch and put Lone Blaze in a daze. His emotion and joy were genuine since he didn’t see Moira as a living being, in his eyes she was the Crimson Monarch’s gift to him.
Was Moira satisfied with this treatment?
She, herself, had no answer to that question. She didn’t plan on becoming enemies with Adam, it was already too late to take the other side, and that part of their history was over at Kyros’s death.
But, she certainly wouldn’t want Adam to try to build the same kind of bond she had with the Crimson Monarch.
It wasn’t that Adam killed her partner, no, she as a creature from the monster world took it smoothly.
Adam was stronger and defeated the Crimson Monarch in a fair fight, leaving only a slight smile on his face, not hatred or anger. For that, Moira was grateful.
However, if Adam tried to be Kyros’s replacement for her, she would feel nothing but rejection towards him. He wasn’t Kyros, and he could never be, no one needed that.
To strengthen their bond, they had to forge their own path, unique to the two of them. It took time and a series of events.
So… consumed by mixed feelings Moira, could only stand and watch Adam’s frantic gaze.
After a while, the glow in his eyes faded, Adam slowly came to his senses.
“Hah, what’s gotten into me?”
Shaking his head, he took a deep breath directing his gaze towards Moira.
“Let’s get started right now, my time is running out. I’ll need to get back to the fortress soon, the fighters will be arriving in short order.”
Moira nodded slightly, pointing at Lone Blaze with some reluctance.
“I hate to admit it, but she’s right. We should work together and get a place in your Initial Gene, now that’s allowed. Release her.”
Then, Adam waved his hand. He didn’t say anything, but the gesture was enough to make Lone Blaze feel free. In fact, she was released on her own.
Step. Step. Step.
Clenching her fists tightly, Lone Blaze walked over to Adam and stood in front of Moira.
Moira glanced at Lone Blaze, scrutinizing her from bottom to top.
“And, I’d like to add one more thing to our agreement,” she pointed arrogantly at Lone Blaze, “Make my status higher than hers. I don’t want to feel threatened every time she’s unhappy about something.”
Lone Blaze’s veins on her face puffed up, with a ghastly grimace she clenched her fists tightly as cruel flames rushed from her in all directions.
Moira rolled her eyes demonstratively, indicating she was right.
“You see? She’s insane! Tell her to obey me.”
“No.”
The cold refusal made Moira wince.
Adam’s eyes grew deeper as he looked around, he lingered his gaze on the bright light in the distance.
Then, he turned and pointed downward.
“There aren’t many ‘creatures’ here, but you should understand the hierarchy. I go first, for this is my space, then the Evolution Tree, followed by Silvana if she can get into my inner space.”
With a short pause, increasing the tension, Adam continued:

“And only after that goes both of you. Given that you’ve both already agreed to work with me, your opinion on the power dynamic is irrelevant.”
In a heartbeat, his voice grew harsher:
“I don’t care who is in charge between the two of you, that is not my concern. However, you must never forget who the ruler of this place is.”
At Adam’s last words, Moira’s eyes grew wider for a moment.
She looked at Lone Blaze, who took Adam’s speech with complete seriousness. If need be, she would kneel right now.
“I get it…” Moira muttered grudgingly, her cheeks puffed up like a child, yet she didn’t argue.
Adam glanced at Lone Blaze.
“What do I have to do?”
“Nothing much, just give us access to your energy. Then, we’ll end up in your Initial Gene. However, neither Moira nor I know the exact changes that will happen to your power.”
She wanted to continue, but was suddenly interrupted by the majestic voice of the Evolution Tree:
[Adam… They will both take a place in your Initial Gene, now it’s become possible, but…]
“Hm?” Adam turned around.
[Your Initial Order will most likely be cut down… I don’t know how much… but it’s impossible to fit the two of them into your Initial Gene without some sacrifices.]
Moira and Lone Blaze exchanged a glance. For once, they weren’t trying to fight with each other, sharing a common concern.
“That’s fine.”
Adam replied calmly, drawing their attention to him.
“I don’t know how long it takes me to easily control a hundred threads. If I lose some to get something unique from Moira and Lone Blaze, it can’t be a bad deal.”
Then, he added:
“After all, I’ve accepted them. There’s no going back.”
[Hehehe… I wish I could say you’ll regret this, but… I don’t know anything myself… Well, in that case, let’s get started.]
Without Adam’s control, a dense energy came out of him. White streams ran along his arm, stopping in front of him.
Moira and Lone Blaze reacted immediately, quickly touching his energy. They did so as if they were trying to overtake each other.
As soon as the connection between the three of them was established, Moira and Lone Blaze turned into clots of energy, two stars, purple and red.
The stars swirled around Adam, passing before his eyes before heading towards his Initial Gene.
They moved quickly, eager to get into a favorable spot. After all, even after all the changes, each of them would only be able to get a small portion of Adam’s Initial Gene.
Unlike the Star Seal ray that faced resistance from the Initial Gene, Moira, and Lone Blaze found themselves at the very center of Adam’s power with no obstacles.
Only the Evolution Tree flinched slightly, feeling something like a strong thud.
Adam watched as the bright light in his Initial Gene diminished slightly, instead the left side filled in purple mist and the right side with violent flames, leaving most of the sphere for the main light.
