Chapter 872: Asuras

All the selected fighters disappeared from their places on the platform according to the number of fighters allowed from each race or association, they formed into groups and appeared over various parts of the battleground.

The whole place was big enough to accommodate more than forty fights at the same time, a total of forty seven areas were separated and Jayden had appeared in the area numbered seven along with several hundreds of beings from other races, the surrounding was open with sand under their feet, there were pillars standing after every short distance.

“Anna, what do you think will happen if someone falls down there?” Jayden asked despite knowing the answer, his group had happened to be at the corner of the battle ground, only darkness could be seen on the other side.

“If that person doesn’t have the ability to control the space, then they are as good as dead not even flying could save them, they would just keep falling until they either die of hunger or maybe they would just kill themselves after being driven crazy, in any case it is going to be a disturbing death that’s why everyone is moving away from the boundary.”

Anna replied but her tone sounded strange, Jayden couldn’t understand why there was such a change.

“Those who are standing at last will be the victors, now let’s not waste any more time and get this event started already.” The thundering voice sounded, starting the first round of the tournament. Instantly, loud sounds began to rang out along with painful screams and rage filled roars, everyone was doing their best not only for their survival but since the punishment might take away their family and loved ones. Jayden didn’t attack instantly as he glanced over at the people in his group, all of them seemed too weak until his eyes landed on a burly man who was half naked and had strange tattoos all over his body, his fists were covered by some kind of metallic gloves.

That man was staring back at Jayden with rage for some reason, there were others standing beside him, men and women who were weaker than the ruler but still had the strongest aura amongst all the other races in the group, they too glared at Jayden.

“That’s look like…” Jayden was mumbling to himself when Anna’s voice sounded:

“Yes, they are from the Asura race, but why they seem to be holding a grudge against you?”

“I wonder why, I have never met them any of them before but I have only heard about the Asura God before, maybe it is something related to him.”

Jayden mumbled, most of the other races in his group had already started to fight, they were pouring out all of their energy and showering other with their strongest attack.

A group of ten people, who all looked like slugs with a height of over two meters rushed towards Jayden after seeing him alone they thought of him as an easier talent since their race have very bad memory and they had already forgotten about his entry.

“Surround him and make his flesh melt, he is weak and has been abandoned by his group.” The ruler shouted in a strange language that Jayden didn’t understands neither was he interested in learning it.

His gaze was fixed on the people from Asura race who had already started to hunt down others, they were probably the strongest race in this group and might have won if only Jayden wasn’t here.

The ten slugs crawled towards Jayden with their fastest speed and were ready to pounce on him when suddenly their bodies began to melt down and only after a moment later did they noticed that the heart from their bodies was missing and at some point, it had started to flow right in front of their faces.

Their bodies melted into just liquid and aside from few of their internal organs only strange reddish brown liquid was left on the ground, the ten of them had died in an instant.

Most of the fighters were trying to maintain distance from Jayden, but the men and women from the asura race seemed quite deadly they were fighting like mad beasts severing the bodies of others and attacking random races.

“The asura race is the ones who loves fighting the most in the whole universe, their bodies are quite strong from the birth and they have always loved wars, becoming a participant in most of the wars.”

Anna spoke while Jayden just stood there, no other race tried to even get close to him, or rather they were just too busy surviving against the strikes of the Asura race, there was a number mentioned above the battle area which showed how many races had died and how many remained.

The atmosphere was depressing as the races watched from different bubbles the fighters from their race die, the people began to cry and became very heartbroken, since many of them would be dying soon, just like the slug race many of the races which had already been eliminated were waiting horror to receive the punishment even though none of them wanted to participate in this type of tournament.

Jayden looked up at the number displaying thirty one, the asuras were the ones who killed most of the people and they didn’t come close to Jayden but continued to send death glares towards him even as they attacked other races in a one sided slaughter.

Just after a few minutes the number was reduced to two, as only the asuras and Jayden were left and even after the long battle the ten asura race beings didn’t seem injured or tired at all, now they were approaching Jayden they had even taken out some weapons which were sharp and dangerous.

“That’s quite the look you are giving to someone you are meeting for the first time.” Jayden spoke, his body was still completely relaxed, there was no time limit so he decided to have a small chat before ending the first round.

“…” the ruler of the asura race stared at Jayden, then without saying a word he pounced forward while waving an extra large spear towards his head, hoping to cut it off with a single attack.

The other asuras followed their king, as they punched, kicked, slashed or even thrusted, sending all kinds of deadly attacks towards him, their auras exploded and their bodies bulged looking even bigger and terrifying, their strength had increased by several times.

Jayden looked at the approaching attack but he remained standing, he tapped over his cheek as the weapons and fists came dangerously close to him, and then they finally struck him but a faint layer of energy had appeared over his body stopping them as if they were nothing more than soft toys.

“Since the asura god had helped me in the past, I’ll give you all a chance to speak, so drop your weapons and sit down.” Jayden spoke while making a gesture with his hand, and the ten asura felt an extreme pressure weighing down over their bodies, their weapons dropped and all of them were forced to get on their knees.
