Chapter 876: Final reward

“The final reward is…” the guardian paused, as the anticipation among the participants grew heavier.

The previous rewards were all beyond their imaginations, so their interest in the final reward was higher than ever. Before the reward was revealed, a giant pillar of light struck down from the sky beside the six guardians.

It landed on a small platform, and instantly the figure of a kneeling person was barely visible. Everyone stared at this figure as the announcement finally sounded:

“The final reward is an entity who had made the universe shiver in fear a long time ago. A few of you might have forgotten her name and even her existence, a being who solely fought against the six of us and had given a fight we never had expected from anyone.

The final reward is Anna Blake, the strongest vampire to exist, the being who had only once ever experienced defeat. She is the woman whose beauty could only be matched by less than five all across the universe.”

As he spoke, the figure was finally revealed. The weak woman was kneeling on the platform, chains wrapped around her body. It seemed there was no blood in her body; her body was covered with countless injuries, and despite her eyes being closed, it was slightly visible that one of her eyeballs was missing.

There seemed to be very little life force in her body. Murmurs rose all across space. Most of the people of various races might have forgotten about her, but the rulers of all the races could never forget her.

She roamed all across the universe since she had the habit of challenging any strong being that she got to know of. None of the rulers could forget the fear she instilled in their hearts; only a very small number of the rulers were those who either hadn’t fought her or weren’t defeated.

Giure looked at that figure with guilt and sadness.

He wasn’t there when her family was being slaughtered by the guardians or when she fought singlehandedly. Looking at her current condition, he felt worse than even knowing that his own brothers had betrayed him.

Anna had defeated him too a long time ago, but that secret was never revealed to stop any kind of fight amongst the vampires. Anna’s breathing was weak; she felt humiliated kneeling in such a condition in front of all these people.

She could hear the light murmurs of the lustful and greedy people, yet she couldn’t do anything. She knew Jayden was there too, but she couldn’t raise her head or open her eyes to look at him, unsure of what kind of reaction he would show. That was what she was most worried about.

“…” The moment Anna had appeared on that platform, Jayden’s expression and aura had changed. In the next moment, his body disappeared from his seat, and with a thunderous sound, he landed on the platform right in front of Anna.

He stared at her face; all this time, or rather from the moment he had heard her voice for the first time, she always seemed so strong. But now, looking at this figure, he felt a strong pain in his heart.

She was enduring so much all this time, even after sacrificing her entire family. His rage was palpable as Jayden clenched his fist, controlling the strong urge to torture the six guardians as he knelt in front of her.

All the other races stared at this scene in shock. Even before, when Jayden had made such a disrespectful entry, the guardians had not reacted in any way, and now he was doing whatever he wanted.

They wondered if the guardians still wouldn’t react in any way; then what would be the point of it all if they continued to treat him differently from others.

Rudrix had a ferocious expression on his face as he glanced back at the guardians. Although he felt fear towards them, having these strong people beside him gave him an infinite level of confidence to the point that he even felt he could take on anyone.

“Should I?” Rudrix asked for their permission in a rather arrogant voice. He was sure that even if he was at a disadvantage, he wouldn’t lose—not with those six people standing behind him.

“Go,” the sound of the guardian echoed, making him feel exhilarated. If he took care of this, then he might receive an even higher reward. Seeing Jayden’s back pointed towards him, he decided to do a sneak attack while he was busy staring at the injured figure of the woman.

“Anna…” Jayden’s voice was soft while his eyes contained countless emotions. Anna’s body shivered as she felt him so close to her.

Finally, she inhaled a long but burning breath as she opened one of her eyes and for the first time saw Jayden’s appearance from so close. For a moment, she felt lost, not understanding her own emotions.

She wanted to keep looking at him but didn’t want him to look at her. She forced a smile on her thin and skinny face as she spoke in a hoarse voice: “Aren’t I beautiful?”

Jayden was feeling such strong emotions that he couldn’t reply. His feelings about Anna, his emotions attached to her, were much stronger than he could have guessed.

Just thinking of all her suffering made it seem as if blood had started to seep out of his body.

Right at this moment, Rudrix contained all the energy in his fist that he could. He was ready to bet everything on this one attack; if this didn’t work, then his only choice would be to hide behind the guardians.

Opting for a speed faster than ever, he flew towards Jayden’s kneeling form. Just as he flew, he sensed a stronger push from behind.

A smile appeared on his face, sensing that one of the guardians had just given him a part of his energy, which made his strength and speed even higher as his body tore through the air and flew towards Jayden.

‘I have never felt this strong before, and this is just a little of the power that I am going to obtain in the future. I have to kill him to get even better rewards.’ Rudrix only had this thought; in an instant, he had appeared exactly behind Jayden. With a wide and cruel smile on his face, the coven leader threw the punch towards his head.

Jayden’s body shivered as he felt his rage crossing all limits. He suddenly turned around while standing up. Extending his right hand, he got a hold of Rudrix’s throat as the powerful punch ended up landing on his chest.

With increased strength, the attack was extremely dangerous. Although he wasn’t sure if it would be enough to kill Jayden, it would definitely injure him greatly. Under Rudrix’s ferocious gaze, cracks formed on Jayden’s armour that extended over his torso, but that was all the attack had managed to do.

Rudrix’s expression changed in an instant. Jayden gripped his throat tightly, his vertical and red pupils staring straight into his soul. Before the coven leader could mutter a word to plead, the grip tightened.
