Chapter 882: Evil

Forty-five people appeared over the single battle area at the same time. Still, every single battle was larger than a few football grounds, so there was more than enough space to move around.

All of them glanced at one another, registering or trying to find out more about their opponents, while a few of them were afraid of getting in the red team from the start since they were going to be at a disadvantage.

Currently, all forty-five of them were among the strongest beings in the universe.

Jayden glanced around as he saw Giure standing not too far away from him. There was also the werewolf king, Maximus. He didn’t recognize most of them, but then he sensed a divine aura and a very intense gaze locked onto him.

Turning his head, Jayden saw that it was someone from the platform of the gods and angels. That platform was just filled with gods and angels; a lot of strong gods like Uta, Zeus, the true god, and many others could be seen, along with many powerful angels.

In this round, one of the angels was going to participate. Even though Jayden was seeing him for the first time, the angel was looking at him as if they were mortal enemies or he had done something extremely wrong. A strong energy of death revolved around that angel.

“That is Azrael, the angel of death. I don’t know why he seems so focused on you, but be careful. He has some annoying abilities; although he might not be a big threat to you, this round is not just based on strength,” Anna’s voice rang in Jayden’s mind. He glanced towards her and saw her looking back at him.

‘I will be careful,’ Jayden replied. For some reason, after meeting, he assumed that she wouldn’t be talking to him in his mind anymore.

After counting, Jayden was only able to see forty-four of the members. He focused his gaze and could vaguely see a blurry silhouette in one of the corners. It was extremely difficult to notice them, and being invisible didn’t seem to be an ability, but as if this was a natural thing.

Jayden glanced towards the race of that creature and saw that on the platform and the bubble, only the blurry silhouette could be seen.

He was quite surprised to even see a race like that, but this invisible person was sure to be at a benefit in this round. Though aside from Jayden, a few others had also noticed it and moved away from him.

While all of them were assessing each other, the voice of the guardian once again filled the entire space, sounding more excited:

“If you don’t have any doubts about this round, then let us start. Remember, it will be a two-hour-long round, and it’ll start the moment the red team is selected. Also, a red halo will appear around you if you are in the red team, so it will be very easy to recognize them. The faster you run, the higher the chances of you surviving.”

After the last words faded, silence once again overtook the entire place as everyone waited with bated breath for the start of the round.

One… Two… Three…

Once ten seconds had passed, a blinding light suddenly covered the whole battle area, which made all the participants close their eyes for a moment. A loud explosive bell rang out, declaring the start of the third round.

As the light disappeared, first all the participants glanced over their own bodies. The expressions of a few relaxed while many tensed up as they saw a red halo covering their bodies.

Exactly thirteen of them had the red halo around their bodies, then they all looked at one another. For a few seconds, everything remained still.

Jayden glanced at the others; he was lucky enough to not end up in the red team at the start. The invisible man wasn’t lucky enough, so around his invisible body, a red halo could be seen, making one of his great abilities completely useless. It was just because of this that the previous round had become a lot easier for him.

The silence was suddenly broken as Giure, who had also ended up in the red team, suddenly jolted his body and ran towards Jayden. Finally, the others also remembered their tasks. The people of the blue team tried to make as much distance as possible from the people with the red halo, while the red team charged towards them desperately.

“Should I wait or pass this halo to someone else?” Giure stopped in front of Jayden and questioned. Since having the halo might not be a bad thing, it could scare away the other red team members if they saw Giure standing beside Jayden.

“Don’t worry about me. Go and pass it to someone. Also, be careful about that invisible person; I have a feeling that he is good at sneaking,” Jayden said while observing the others who had already started to chase each other. It already seemed like a pure mess.

“I understand. I will be back after getting into the other team,” Giure spoke and then ran away towards the closest person who was in the blue team.

Out of thirteen, only twelve people were chasing after the others. Jayden soon noticed that Azrael had also ended up in the red team. Despite that, there was no hurry or nervousness on his face. Currently, he hid his original appearance and was just in a normal man’s body, though he still had his black wings and his strength was the same.

Azrael didn’t move at all; he just stood there and stared at Jayden. After a few seconds, he spoke: “So I finally got to meet you. Even from so far, I can sense the evil inside you.

Over the long time of my life, I have barely seen people with such darkness. You have been causing quite a lot of damage all over the place, yet you remained hidden for some reason. I am Azrael, the angel of death.”

“Well, hello, I am Jayden. And since there is still quite a lot of time, can you check my record of good deeds and bad ones? I’d love to see if I’ve earned a premium spot in hell’s VIP section before you drag me there.

Oh, also, if you die, who takes over your job? Just curious if there’s a waiting list for the next Angel of Death; I am quite interested in this job,” Jayden spoke. He didn’t move despite seeing that Azrael had a red halo around his body.

A person of your strength needs to be purged.” While speaking, Azrael’s body suddenly flashed in front of Jayden as if he had just teleported.

He stretched his right hand as a strange energy wrapped around his arm. Without wasting a moment, he struck Jayden’s chest as the red halo was transferred, and a black and ethereal soul-like figure was released from his back, which according to Azrael consisted of all the evil inside Jayden.
