Chapter 884: Baton
Around an hour had passed; there was only a little change in the red team. Those people weren’t able to touch anyone. Jayden and Giure stood without worrying, while Azrael still lay there, whether it be because of pain or shame.
Even the guardians had started to feel a little bored while watching this uneventful chase. Twenty more minutes had passed, and only forty minutes remained, yet there was no change.
The thirteen people in the red team were the weakest, of course, aside from Azrael, so no matter how much they tried, they couldn’t do anything.
When half an hour was left, a voice rang in the minds of all the participants except Jayden and Giure; it was clear that this message was directly from the guardians:
“Anyone who manages to bring Jayden, the man standing beside Azrael in black, the one who ripped his wings away, to the red team would instantly win.
If you could beat him, then not only would you be able to win, but also bring back your team members to life who died in the previous round. If you could kill him, then one person would directly become the winner of the tournament and will receive all the rewards.”
Everyone on the battlefield froze as soon as they heard these words; their gazes moved towards Jayden as all kinds of thoughts filled their minds.
“Looks like they have interfered; they must have put some rewards over my head,” Jayden mumbled, as he felt all the gazes focusing on him, with greed and bloodlust.
“Get away from here; I need space to move freely.” Jayden spoke; Giure nodded and moved a little away but was ready to defend him at any time.
Without saying a word, Jayden bent slightly and held one of Azrael’s legs near his ankle, and even though Azrael’s body had a red halo, it didn’t transfer to Jayden’s body since, even though he was holding Azrael’s ankle, there was a little gap between his hand and leg.
Although all the men were filled with greed, they still couldn’t bring themselves to attack Jayden because of the fear. But all of a sudden, a loud roar sounded, and a werewolf rushed towards Jayden at full speed.
Maximus had transformed into the wolf form, which is his strongest form that he hadn’t used in a long time. If he could bring back his family, then he wouldn’t mind even sacrificing himself.
Even though Jayden looked terrifying, he was hell-bent on defeating him; nothing else mattered to him but the lives of his people.
The others stared at each other for a moment, then whether in the red team or blue, they all ran towards Jayden with all their might, hoping to get any of the rewards.
“Hah. Now this is a little better, but can you all go past the angel baton?”
While speaking, he wildly swung Azrael’s body around in the air; then he shot towards the approaching werewolf.
BANG
Jayden made a complete 360 in the air as Maximus got close to him; Azrael’s body was moving violently through the air. In the next moment, Jayden smashed the angel’s head against the wolf, throwing it away.
The others had also started to get close to him by now; they were aiming various kinds of attacks at him— spheres, energy blasts, fire, ice, and whatnot—but everything was met by the angel baton.
Azrael’s body collided with all the attacks as loud explosions continued to ring out, then Jayden swung his body around and hit the attackers with his makeshift baton.
BANG BOOM THUD
Loud sounds rang out all across the space; bodies could be seen flying all over the place, and all kinds of attacks were being launched towards a single target. Yet none of them were even able to get close to Jayden; each time they approached him, no matter which direction or angle they chose, a flying angel baton would always strike them.
Despite Azrael’s high defense and strength, after being attacked by so many people, he had turned into a bloody mess; his arms were swaying around freely as if there were no bones in them or the bones had turned into powder. His entire body was covered in injuries.
Minutes passed, and all of them desperately tried to hit Jayden; Maximus was trying the hardest out of all, so slash marks were accumulating over Azrael’s body.
“The time is over; all of you should stop now.” The voice of the guardians sounded as everyone halted their actions; they had completely forgotten about the time limit. The ones who were still in the red team fell to their knees and felt despair.
Jayden finally threw away Azrael and looked around just as the bodies of all the members of the blue team disappeared from the battle area; even Azrael had returned to the platform since he was able to get to the blue team in the end.
“All thirteen of you put up a good fight, and I believe it would be a waste to just kill you all. So if within ten minutes, any four of you could kill the others, then your lives would be spared and you would be able to participate in the next round.”
These words from the guardian were like a ray of hope for the thirteen people, and in the next moment, another fight broke out in the battle area.
“Is he even alive?” Anna’s voice sounded as soon as Jayden sat in his seat; she released a soft chuckle.

“I think so, but I am sure he must be praying for death more than anything,” Jayden spoke as his gaze drifted off to the place where the angel lay like a rag doll on the platform.
“I know those shitheads are as evil as they could get, but first pretending as if this tournament is fair and now just changing anything, they really are the biggest pieces of dog shit.”
Anna cursed, her eyes glowing with a bright red color; she wished to just go there and slaughter them all, but she still wasn’t even back to her peak strength yet—not to mention that even at her full strength, she can’t defeat them.
“Yup, I want to burn them.” Alice’s voice sounded; she was quite furious too, just like Jayden’s other wives, with a strong white flame dancing around her body.
“I think they are going to be even more shameless in the next round; I think we should all go there and fight them.” Eleanor spoke, and the other women nodded.
Jayden sat over his chair; he had no interest in the battle currently ongoing. He talked with his family for a while; then his gaze drifted off to a platform hovering not too far away from him, the area where the dragons were seated.
‘I guess the tournament must be near its end, since the guardians had started to just change the rules as they wished. Their plans will be executed soon.’
While he was thinking, his gaze was fixed on the figures of the two women seated on the platform. Without saying a word he stood up and began to float towards them.
