Chapter 894: Misunderstanding
Anna’s hand shot forward as she aimed the blood-red dagger towards Alice’s belly. Despite all her inner struggles, she failed to stop her body from moving. She was filled with horror just thinking of doing something like this, yet her body moved without any hesitation.
SQUELCH!
Suddenly, her body froze as pain engulfed her. She felt something hitting her from behind. She looked down and felt relieved to see the dagger stopping before reaching Alice’s body. Then she saw Jayden’s arms that had torn through her body and crushed her heart.
“COUGH!”
She coughed, and blood flowed from the corners of her lips. She was finally in control of her body; the blood-red dagger dropped from her hand as it disappeared and appeared near the guardians. Even more blood poured out of her body as she felt the hand moving away from her body.
Her eyes dimmed slightly as she turned to look at Jayden, who stood there with wide eyes and his lips slightly parted. He looked frozen and devastated. Despite the pain, Anna forced a smile on her face as she gently placed her bloody hand over Jayden’s chest and mumbled in a soft voice:
“I- I am sorry, haa haa, for all this, but after t- this attack, COUGH, I guess we are even, hehe—COUGH COUGH, this wasn’t your fault…”
Anna’s weak voice stopped by the time she had finished speaking; all life disappeared from her eyes as her body dissolved into nothingness, breaking into small particles of energy.
“…”
Jayden stared at the space in front of him, the place where Anna was present just moments ago. It seemed all the pain, exhaustion, burden, and sadness poured onto him at the same time as he stumbled back and fell onto his throne, his breathing becoming extremely weak as blood constantly poured out of his body.
His wives tried to support him, but Jayden raised a hand to stop them as he sat weakly on the large chair with his head tilted down, covered by a shadow, making it impossible for the others to see his expression. Raising his trembling hands, he placed the palms over his face.
“This drama is turning out to be better than we had planned or could have expected. I guess after this, the Blake bloodline would surely disappear. Anyway, is he still going to put up a fight?” one of the guardians spoke with amusement in his voice.
“I expected more from him, since he probably is the reincarnation of the World Devourer, but just the death of a single vampire was enough to break him to this extent. He truly isn’t worthy to be in possession of something so precious,” another guardian added, his tone mocking and haughty.
“Should we get rid of them all now, or do any of you need further entertainment from this drama?” the third guardian asked in a aloof tone.
“So, Jayden, are you now willing to give up the Dimensional Stone, or do you wish to see your younger sister, your lover, and your mother suffer a fate much worse than that vampire?” the fourth guardian asked, an undeniable threat in his tone.
Despite their words, Jayden remained still; if not for his weak breathing, it might seem he had become a corpse. No one knew what was going on in his mind.
Alice, Sasha, Ada, and the others stood beside Jayden, but they didn’t know what to do right now, even more so since the threat of the guardians still lingered over them, and none of them were confident in defeating those six beings.
“You are going to regret this all.” Hecate glared at the guardian with intense bloodlust in her eyes. If not for them having captured those three hostages, she would have rushed forward to attack them even if she might not match those six.
Currently, in the group, Hecate and Ada were the strongest, but their combined strength would at most allow them to possibly defeat one guardian. If they didn’t care about their lives, then they might end up defeating two, but fighting them all was an impossible task.
“Haha! That’s rich coming from you. Please enlighten us; how are we going to regret any of it? Are you women going to make us regret, or do you still have that much faith in that husband of yours? Your futile efforts are truly amusing.
I almost want to enjoy this drama a little longer, but obtaining the Dimensional Stone is our priority. After getting our hands on it, we would be able to obtain a strength that you can’t even imagine.
We would devour this whole universe and then travel to other universes and become a part of the Galactic Mast— well, forget it. You have stayed here your whole life, so you don’t even know the wonders that reside outside of this space, the beings that hold unimaginable powers and a vast variety of opportunities.”
Another guardian spoke almost in a dreamy tone; all of their planning, everything, was just to obtain that level of power and move towards even mightier goals.
“We have already wasted enough time. Let’s just get rid of these nuisances and prepare for the destruction of this universe. We have to obtain everything this universe has to offer.” The sixth guardian spoke in an impatient tone.
The other five also decided to end this finally, even though this had been far more entertaining than anything in so many years.
“Jayden, hand over the Dimensional Stone, and we will provide an immediate and painless death to you and your family. Otherwise, you would be forced to watch each of them die right in front of you, one by one, as painfully as possible.”
As the guardians finished speaking, all six of them focused their gazes on Jayden, but he just remained still, almost seeming as if there was no soul in his body.
All the women looked at Jayden with pained expressions, but their inability to help in this situation made them all feel terrible. They could only protectively stand in front of him and look at the guardians with malice.
“Sigh. Let’s just get it done; just slaughter them all.”

Just as the guardians were about to make a move and attack the women standing as a shield in front of Jayden, a loud, twisted, broken, and devilish laughter thundered across the whole space, which put frowns over the faces of all the guardians as they all collectively stared at Jayden.
Even the women turned to look at him with startled and confused expressions.
Jayden’s face, still covered by his hands, remained hidden, but his laughter was deafening; it seemed to distort the space itself, as the maniacal laugh filled the guardians with confusion.
“Has he finally gone mad? Maybe killing his lover with his own hand really drove him to insanity.”
“Hmm. It seems we really pushed him off the edge. I wonder how he would act after seeing this little girl, his dragon lover, and his mother die in front of him along with all his wives.”
Jayden’s laughter suddenly came to a halt as his hands slowly moved away from his face, but his expression remained hidden in the blinding shadow as his clear and loud voice rang out:
“I think there is a misunderstanding.”
