Chapter 967: Fruit of Despair-2

He got up from the stone and began to walk on the road; his first destination was to meet this emperor, Decay.

While he was walking and about to fly into the sky, Jayden felt a tug at the corner of his robe. He looked down and saw that it was a kid.

A girl with greenish skin, two big eyes and two small horns on her; based on human standards, she seemed to be six or seven years old, but according to the races of this place, she was probably even younger.

Her height was barely above Jayden’s knee. She looked very weak and was wearing worn-out and dirty clothes. Her body itself was covered with burn marks, deep gashes from beatings, and a strange skin disease.

“C- Can you cough g- gib me some food? My y- younger brother- cough cough hadn’t eaten a- anything. He w- won’t eben talk to me a- anymore… H- he had been siwent, not even opening his eyez.” The little girl finished one sentence with extreme difficulty. She kept coughing as blood filled her mouth.

“…” Jayden looked at her in silence for a few seconds. After not getting a response, the girl raised her head with difficulty and looked up in a daze. But her body shivered as soon as she saw Jayden.

Such clean and expensive clothes, such good looks—how could it be anyone from the black zone? The little girl was barely conscious while she was begging for food for her younger brother. She mistook him for someone from that area, but now she was filled with dread after seeing that it was actually someone from the golden area.

Just getting close to these people would get entire families killed, and now she had even touched his clothes with her dirty hands. How serious was her crime?

He didn’t seem afraid of death, so he spoke out loud, making the other people move away from him in fear.

Jayden looked at the small girl kneeling in front of him as she kept shivering and begging. Now his mood had finally reached a very low point. His eyes looked dangerous for a moment before the killing intent disappeared completely.

He bent forward and gently picked up the little girl, who seemed surprised and afraid at the same time. Even if it was to punish the people of the black zone, these royal people wouldn’t take action themselves since touching these people was considered dirty. They would just call guards.

“What’s your name?” Jayden asked. He didn’t mind the dirt that was present on her body or clothes. He ignored all the reactions from the surrounding people.

Now that they noticed it, he didn’t look like one of them. Everything about him was different. All of them stared at him with curiosity, wondering who this person was who wasn’t offended even after being touched by a dirty girl.

“Uh… N- Nira.” She replied in a mosquito-like tone. Even though she had calmed down quite a bit, she was still afraid.

“So Nira, where is your younger brother?” As he spoke, a chocolate appeared in Jayden’s hand, then he brought it in front of her.

She had never seen anything like that, yet Nira could tell that it was some kind of food, and even the smell was good. Despite the fear, she couldn’t stop her small hands from reaching out to hold it.

“T- There…” she pointed but didn’t even take one bite of the chocolate, and Jayden could tell that she must be saving it to give to her younger brother.

“You can eat that. I have a lot with me.” As Jayden spoke, several chocolates appeared in his hand.
