Chapter 100: Not my thing
“Finally!” Nicolai grunted as he pushed Ari on her bed. He swore off from helping anyone ever again. Being a good person was not for him and this incident only taught him why he was not cut out for doing good deeds.
Not only did he have to carry Ari from the first floor to the fifth, but he also had to beg and plead with her, only then did she tell him the passcode of her apartment. Funnily enough, this woman, after taking the money, refused to acknowledge him. She was a classic example of dine and dash!
It was a good thing that they were not in a relationship, if not, who knows who would be taking advantage of whom.
Feeling a soreness in his back, Nicolai rolled his shoulder. He looked at Ari, who was still in her drunken daze and said to her, “Stay here. I will bring you a glass of water.”
Fortunately, for him, Ari nodded obediently. Upon seeing this, Nicolai heaved a sigh of relief, he meandered his way through the apartment and went to look for the kitchen.
His eyes sharply glanced at the twists and turns of the apartment before he came to a stop in the living come kitchen room. Nicolai was not the one to do kitchen working fact, he had never set a single step inside the kitchen all his life. So, it was not a surprise that he had quite trouble finding out what was placed where.
“Glass, glass, damn, where did she place all the glass in the house?” Nicolai grumbled when he did not find a single glass in the cabinets that he opened. His patience ran off, and he chose a cute coffee mug to fill with water, what was the difference anyway? It was going to be used to fill and hold water, right?
While whistling a jolly tune, he filled the mug with water and then turned on his feet to head back inside the bedroom where he left Ari. As Nicolai stepped out he felt something rub against his feet. If it were someone else, that person would have jumped in the air by three feet now but Nicolai was different from everyone else.
He calmly looked down and found Ari’s pet dog.
“Damn boy, you are looking good,” he praised Timmy, whose tongue lolled out of his mouth. Timmy brushed his head against Nicolai, who smiled at him and rubbed his head with the tips of his fingers. “I wish I could play with you, but your little owner is drunk as a skunk. We don’t want her jumping out of the balcony in her drunken haze, do we?” That foolish woman was about to dive into the ocean to look for pearls. Who knows, she might try to jump from her balcony to get the stars next.
There was no way that woman could die yet, thought Nicolai. If she died, then what about ——
He shook his head and then walked inside the bedroom, Timmy followed behind while wagging his tail. However, the second Nicolai stepped inside the room, he immediately blocked Timmy’s eyes with his free hand.
Wh…what…what was this?
“Boy, stay!” He said to Timmy before closing the door on the poor dog’s face. Timmy, who did not understand why he, was not allowed to go inside the room, tilted his head to the side.
Inside the room, Nicolai looked at Ari. His eyes fell on her naked body, and his throat worked unconsciously.
He knew that she was beautiful, but he did not know that she was this enchanting! His eyes fell on her cascading rosy hair, her pale skin and sharp collar bones. It skimmed down further and further before Nicolai snapped his gaze back up.
“What… What do you think you are doing?” Nicolai asked while panicking. Why did this woman take off her clothes all of a sudden?
“Your payment,” Ari slurred, her eyes moving left and right as she stared at Nicolai. “You gave me money…then isn’t this what you wanted?”
‘No, I gave you money because I did not want you to jump in the ocean!’ Nicolai screeched inwardly. He rubbed the back of his neck and looked away from Ari. He would have loved to take on this offer if she had given to him when she was conscious and in the right state of her mind. But there was no way he was going to touch her when she was in a condition where Ari couldn’t even tell east from west.
“Wear your clothes,” he said to her while placing the glass of water on the cabinet next to the bed. “I am tired and want to take a nap.”
Ari turned her head while sitting on the edge of her bed. Her eyes were still dark with the alcohol in her system as she questioned, “Are you going to take the money with you then?”
Nicolai paused, he turned to look at the woman behind him but looked away instantly. He picked up the blanket on the bed and then threw it at Ari before saying, “You don’t have to worry about it, I will not take the money.”
Why would he take the money when he handed it to her?
He took out the pill from the packet of Hangover medicine and was about to hand her the pill when Ari caught his wrist and questioned him, “Why will you g…give me money if you don’t take anything in return? Isn’t that how it is supposed to be? Only when I give you something in return will you give me money in exchange?”
Upon hearing her words, Nicolai’s eyes widened before they became small. He sighed and tried to pull his hand away from her, he knew why Ari was saying such a thing.
“I am neither going to sleep with you nor am going to take the money back, so you can stop worrying,” he told the woman who seemed even more confused by his words. Nicolai shook his head before covering Ari’s eyes and pushing her down on the bed. “I may be a lot of things, but I do not sleep with drunken women. This is not my thing. Get sober if you want my D, got it?”
