Chapter 106: Digging a trap
On the other side, in a small pub, Ariel was sitting in a private room. In front of her sat Mister Fletcher, the same man who went looking for Ari a day ago.

“Have…Have you looked for my sister?” Ariel asked with a simpering smile, she was dressed in a deep maroon dress, which had a hint of black scattered over her sleeves and collar. The front of the dress had a deep collar that showed her padded bosom.

If Mister Fletcher had seen Ariel first before Ariana, he would have been attracted to her charms. But after seeing the younger one, he had no intentions of making a move on the woman in front of him. He took a swig of his cigar and nodded, “Of course we did. This is about the money that your father owes us, how can we not take a look at the sources from where we can get a refund?”

Mister Fletcher had a subtle idea about the Harlow family, and he had already taken a look at Ari’s relationship with Noah. He first thought that what Mrs. Harlow told him was nothing but lies, after all, a girl from a small family became the wife of the CEO of Nelson Corporation.

That was laughable.

To his surprise, he indeed found out that the girl was married to the Nelson family. However, it brought delight to Mister Fletcher after finding out that he would be able to get the money rather easily.

“Then, have you pressurized her?” Ariel asked, with a curious and tentative look on her face, as she leaned forward. When Mister Fletcher glanced at her with a hint of annoyance, she immediately changed her words, “I mean, what if my sister runs away? She is known for it. You shouldn’t look at her kind and docile face,” her eyes flickered as she glanced around.

Ariel then lowered her voice and said to Mister Fletcher, “My sister once killed a boy at school. She returned home covered in blood, I am not lying!” She added when Mister Fletcher looked at her with some doubts in her eyes.

“Everyone knows about this incident, you only need to do a bit of digging,” Ariel was worried that the man would not believe her, which was why she gave him a bit more information. Though that incident brought shame to their family, Ariel wanted to make sure that Ari would not be able to run away.

Only when she was dumped and drowning in the abyss of debt would she willingly agree to her suggestion and obediently follow the men from the Serpents. If those men gave Ari a way out by exchanging her body for money, that woman would probably agree. Of course, she would!

Ariel did not have the slightest doubt about it.

‘Once she is gone, I will be able to marry Noah without a problem,’ Ariel thought giddily. Even if Old Master Nelson wished to have Ari as her granddaughter-in-law, once the news of Ari selling her body in exchange for money breaks out—— Ariel wanted to see how that old man would accept that sister of hers.

She glanced at the man in front of her and stood up from the couch on which she was sitting. “You should take a look at the person with whom you are dealing, Mister Fletcher,” Ariel said with a kind smile on her face, which stayed calm and relaxed. It made her look gentle, even though she was here to dig a pit for her sister. “I am just a small actress and my brother is a construction worker, we do not earn much. I came here because I know my sister,”

Her eyes turned saddened and aggrieved as she continued, “She is selfish and cold-blooded. I am certain that she would run away with the money and leave us to deal with the debt. If not for the fact that I have no other option, I would have chosen another way to deal with this matter.”

She looked like a woman who had no other path in front of her, causing Mister Fletcher to be fooled.

What the woman said was right. If that woman killed someone when she was just a high school student, then running away with the money was not a big deal for her.

Mister Fletcher turned to look at his underlings and ordered, “Go and find out, if what she said is the truth.”

His underlings immediately took their leave after their boss ordered them.

Seeing that Mister Fletcher believed her, Ariel’s eyes flashed victoriously. She was certain that this time around Ari would be in her grasp and gone from her life for good.

“Then I will take my leave, Mister Fletcher,” Ariel said to the man. “I hope you can find my sister before she leaves the town.” She egged the man in the hope that he would bother Ari so much that her sister would have no other choice in front of her.

Mister Fletcher did not pay attention to Ariel, he was now waiting for his men to come back with information. Ariel noticed the frown on his face and sneered. She could even fool Noah Nelson who sat on the top of the food chain of the Lonest City, this small thug was nothing compared to him.

Ariel turned on her feet and walked out of the room, her aggrieved expression turned into a smiling and elated one. If only she could see Ari’s condition after these thugs finish dealing with her. But Ariel was smarter than that, she knew that it was nothing but foolishness to turn up in front of Ariana at the moment.

That woman was no longer as obedient as she used to be, who knows what might happen if they crossed paths? She did not want any trouble.

“Shall I go to get my pedicure done?” Ariel mused while looking at her toes. But after a while, she smiled and stated, “Manicure and Pedicure it is.” With that, she sashayed her way after throwing an ignited matchstick into Ari’s already aflame life.

Three hours later, the underlings returned with the new-found information and handed it all to Mister Fletcher, whose face turned sombre. He raised his hand and smacked the man who was responsible for collecting information on the face with the report in his hand.

“You fool! Is this something you can skip?”
