In all honesty, if it were someone else Nicolai would not have bothered, but something about Ari drew him close to her. He did not know whether it was her monosyllabic replies that she gave him whenever he texted her.
Stay away from me.
I do not wish to talk to you.
Do not touch me.
Don’t get close to me.
Can you remove your uncomfortable presence from my vicinity?
This woman talked like a prissy princess. Of course, Nicolai had zero complaints about it because there was something wild about stripping a princess naked and seeing what lay beneath all that prim and proper attitude.
Or it could be that vulnerable and soft gaze she gave him when Ari got drunk. She looked at him as if he were just a man and not a mafia boss, nor the guy who killed people before eating his breakfast. She was looking at Nicolai De Luca, the man who helped her.
He still could not get the image of her sitting there and just begging to be f*cking used.
If Nicolai was to mention it, Ari was going to refuse as if her life depended on it.
This was why he did not mention it and asked her to follow him.
“Sure,” Ari did not fight him, as this was not the time for her to get into a fight with this man. She nodded and agreed before following him. As she was in pain and her thoughts were a wrecked mess, she failed to notice Ryan who saw everything that happened just now.
His mouth was agape as he watched Ari walk out of the café with none other than Nicolai De Luca!
Where in the world did these two get acquainted?
Ryan sat down the coffee cup on the table and hesitated before chasing after the two. He wanted to see what was going on, but as soon as he arrived at the entrance of the café, he saw Ari getting in Nicolai’s car.
A second later, Nicolai slid inside as well and the two drove away leaving Ryan to breathe in the exhaust fumes.
“Cough,” Ryan waved his hand in front of his face while coughing. He looked at the car that was driving away and then turned to look behind him before turning to look at the front again.
“This… shall I tell this to Noah?” Ryan muttered to himself, he was holding his hand on top of his eyes while guarding them from the direct sun. He stared at the car that drove away and pursed his lips, though this matter was a bit sensitive, after thinking about it Ryan decided to relay it to Noah.
That man had been troubled with divorce and Ari’s firm refusal to return home with him. Maybe if Ryan told Noah about Ari’s new flame, he would let go of her and accept Ariel.
The more he thought about it the more Ryan thought that it made sense. If Noah found out that Ari had betrayed him, he wouldn’t hold on to her instead he would forget all about reconciling and focus on Ariel.
With his mind made up, he turned on his feet and then walked over to his car. He needed to relay this news to his good brother or else who knows how long would he torment himself!
Noah rubbed his forehead while sitting in his office. Ever since Ari walked out of his life, things have gotten messy.
On one hand, his mother kept making a fuss every day, on another hand, his grandfather who was unaware of their divorce kept asking Noah to bring Ari with him to the recuperation center.
“What am I even supposed to do?” Noah questioned no one in particular. His eyes stared at the monitor of his laptop when the door of his office burst open.
Ryan, who arrived at his company, rushed inside while holding two glasses and a bottle of wine.
“Noah! My dear brother! I have some shocking news for you!” Ryan stated, walking towards the table behind which Noah was sitting, he placed the things that he was carrying in his hands on the table.
“What news?” Noah asked. “And about whom? I think I did read the newspaper and did not find anything shocking.”
Ryan shook his head and informed, “This news is not from the newspaper. I was at the café, and you know whom I saw?” Seeing the confused look on Noah’s face, Ryan knew that he had no idea about Ari and Nicolai before continuing, “It was your ex-wife and Nicolai de Luca!”
Noah stood up from his chair. He looked at Ryan and questioned sharply, “Are you sure? Maybe you made a mistake.”

He couldn’t believe that Ari would betray him, much less she would go to a man whom he had considered a thorn in his path for a long time.
Ryan said, “I saw them with my own two eyes. Do you think I will start hallucinating in the middle of the day? Ari was with Nicolai and the two of them drove away somewhere. Who knows where they went and what they are doing?”
He then snorted with disdain, “No wonder she divorced so cleanly and did not take a single penny. I thought that she was a woman with guts but humph, she is just like those street wh*res——”
CLANG!
The sound of something breaking echoed in the room, and Ryan turned to look at the source of the sound. When he the broken frame of the picture frame hanging on the wall with a paper weight lying on the floor, he gulped.
“There is no need for you to get angry over a woman like that, Noah…. She was not worth it, really. A shameless and crude woman like her who could jump from one bed to another——”
“ENOUGH!” Noah shouted at the top of his lungs as he pointed to the door of his office. “Get out!”
“Noah!”
“I said get out,” Noah yelled as he flipped the table, sending everything that was placed on the table flying.
