Chapter 119: Hers is mine, mine is also mine
Mister Fletcher was sitting in his club. Music boomed in the building, as neon lights flashed inside the dark club, lighting up the dimly lit club area as well as the VIP room where Mister Fletcher was sitting. He was smoking his cigar while watching a woman strip on the pole, he counted the men throwing money and nodded satisfactorily.

“Keep that woman,” he said to his assistant. He sounded impressed as he stated, “She knows how to keep the men in the club entertained. She will bring big bucks.”

The assistant looked down from the large window that was behind the couch on which Mister Fletcher was sitting and nodded. He agreed with him, as he could see that the crowd of men was cheering the woman on the stage. With one glance, it was enough to see that this new girl knew how to attract men as well as how to keep their attention on her.

“I understand, Mister Fletcher,” the assistant obliged.

“We could have earned a lot of money if we dragged that woman with us today, Boss,” said one of the lackeys. He was talking about Ari, whom they had harassed earlier in the morning. “She is gorgeous as well, I bet a man would pay thousands of dollars to see her strip for them.” As he spoke, the man could not help but snigger with his friends, as he knew that among those men they would be included as well.

It was a pity that the woman had a million dollars in her bag, and they could not do anything to her.

“Boys,” Mister Fletcher blew out three rings of smoke, he reached his hand forward and then tapped the cigar with his fingers. The ashes collected in front fell on the ashtray as he leaned back. He said, “Why are you in a hurry? Do you think that the woman will be able to pay the debt?”

The lackeys could not help but turn to look at their boss who had a smug look on his face. One of them said, “Wouldn’t she? She has so much money after getting the alimony, certainly, she can pay us back?”

“Sure, she can pay the debt amount but what about the interest? Who would pay that?” Mister Fletcher chuckled vulgarly. “Don’t worry, that woman will be dancing naked in front of us and our guests very soon.”

Though Mister Fletcher was not an appreciator of beauty, he had to admit that Ari was quite beautiful. If there was a chance that he could bed her, what was wrong with spending a night with her? Since the opportunity had arisen, he was going to make use of it.

“But boss, that woman said that the money belonged to De Luca…what if, she was speaking the truth?” One of the thugs still had a bit of reasoning. While the rest of the lackeys thought that Ari was only throwing out Nicolai’s name to scare them, this man, however, couldn’t help but worry.

If there was even the slightest chance that Ari knew Nicolai, then they were done for. Everyone in the Lonest City knew that one could escape the devil, but they couldn’t escape Nicolai De Luca and the Phantoms.

“Yeah sure,” the dark and lanky man next to him chortled. “If that woman knew De Luca, do you think she would be in this situation? She would have gone running to him long ago, Kyle.”

The thug, named Kyle, did not retort.

But his words caused Mister Fletcher to be lost in thoughts. He had learned from his experience that it was better to be safe than sorry. A flickering glint flashed in his eyes as he fished out his phone and called Ariel.

When that woman came to look for him, she had left behind her number.

Ariel, who was at the shooting location, saw her phone ringing. As soon as she saw the number on the screen her eyes flashed. She turned to the woman who was doing her hair and said to her, “Can you leave me alone, please? This is a personal call.”

The woman with a curler in her hand nodded. She turned the curler off and then walked out of the makeup room. Ariel waited until the woman was gone, if she heard her, then she would definitely spread rumours about her. If that happened, then her sweet and gentle mask would shatter in minutes!

Ariel walked over to the door of the makeup room and closed it shut, only then did she pick up Mister Fletcher’s call.

“Good afternoon, Mister Fletcher. I am so glad that you called me,” Ariel greeted the man with a charming voice. She had long learned the importance of flattering those whom she wanted to use. “Did you find my sister? She did not run away, did she?”

Mister Fletcher on the other side arched a brow. He then replied, “She did try to make a run for it, but I caught her in time. I even recovered a million dollars from her, fortunately, Miss Ariel told me, or I would have suffered a massive loss.”

When Ariel heard that Mister Fletcher had caught Ari, her lips curled into a smile, but then the smile fell when Ariel heard that Mister Fletcher found a million dollars on Ari.

What did it mean? It meant that Ari was hiding this sum of money from their family.

Even though Ariel knew that the reason, her family was now in a good position because of her mother selling Ari to the Serpents. She had believed that everything that belonged to Ari was hers ever since she was a child. Her mother also acknowledged this fact. So when she heard Mister Fletcher say that he had taken a million dollars from Ari—— Ariel felt like it was her who suffered the loss!

‘This damned sneaky girl. I knew it, she was only acting obedient on the surface…behind our backs, hmph! She was actually hiding money. Now look, she caused us to suffer a loss of a million dollars!’ Ariel angrily cursed Ari for being an idiot.
