Ariel was furious, but she couldn’t let Mister Fletcher notice her true feelings. She calmed down and said in an aggrieved voice, “See, I told you, Mister Fletcher. My sister is a heartless ingrate, if you hadn’t caught her then I and my family would have been in trouble. Only my sister can pay you back, if she runs away then even if you skin our entire family we can’t pay you back.”

At times like these, Ariel was glad that her relationship with Noah was not disclosed. If it had, then she would have certainly been bothered by this man.

Mister Fletcher did not notice anything amiss. He inwardly agreed with Ariel, though there were two women in the Harlow family apart from Ariana, he did not believe that either of them could fetch him a good deal as neither of them were as pretty as Ariana.

Ariel, who was on the other side of the line, did not know what Mister Fletcher was thinking, if she had known, then she wouldn’t have been smiling.

“I am glad that you warned us,” Mister Fletcher said after a short pause. He then went to the reason for which he called Ariel, “Does your sister know Mister De Luca?”

He would be in trouble if that woman was really an acquaintance of Nicolai De Luca.

When Ariel heard Mister Fletcher’s words, the cogs in her head turned. She seemed to have understood what happened and answered sweetly, “How can she know Mister De Luca? Her ex-husband and Mister De Luca have never seen eye to eye. I believe that she must have thrown Mister De Luca’s name to save her skin.”

And as if she were worried that Mister Fletcher would not believe her and let Ari have a leeway to escape, she immediately added, “I am her big sister. I have known her since we were kids, I assure you that my sister does not have any sort of connection with Mister De Luca.”

Mister Fletcher heaved a sigh of relief. He did not see any reason to continue his call with Ariel once he got the answer he wanted and finished the call.

Once the call ended, Ariel internally smiled at her wits. She could not help but sneer as she coldly muttered, “I underestimated you, you little wh*re. You actually had the guts to bring Nicolai De Luca into your mess. You really are foolish!”

Everyone knew that Nicolai hated it when someone tried to get close to him for power and fame.

If he knew, then he wouldn’t have left Ari alone, however, Ariel did not have any way to contact Nicolai, and she did not believe that it was wise to do so. After all, Ari was going to be sent to the serpents. If something happened to her then they would be the ones to suffer.

“Count yourself lucky,” Ariel sneered but swiftly changed her expression when someone knocked on the door. “Please wait a moment.”

“See, I told you? That woman was lying and nothing else,” the thug who chided Kyle who had brought up the issue of Ariana knowing Nicolai.

Kyle frowned but did not say anything. His brows were knit together, and he was lost in his thoughts.

“You all need to worry about yourselves. If you have so much time to worry about things that do not exist, you might as well bring me more money from the debtors,” Mister Fletcher said harshly.

Though he did not say anything directly, Kyle knew that his boss was scolding him. His face turned red, and he apologized with his head lowered.

“I am sorry, Boss,” came the meek response of the man.

“Are you? You nearly caused my heart to fail, I was really worried there for a second,” Mister Fletcher snorted. A look of frustration etched on his face, “This is why people can make fools out of you so easily, you are so gullible.”

Kyle only lowered his head and apologized again. He did not say anything more and was about to take his leave when the door of the VIP room burst open.

The sound was too loud, causing many of the lackeys including Mister Fletcher to jump in fright. They looked at the dark figures standing against the light and could not recognize them. Mister Fletcher narrowed his eyes and opened his mouth. He spoke angrily, “Who is it? Who dared to barge inside my bar without my permission, do you want to get your legs broken!?”

He was the leader of a small gang and had his pride, how could he sit still when someone raided his territory?

“Oh?” A familiar chuckle echoed in the room and Mister Fletcher stiffened. He seemed to have recognized the voice, but at the same time, he did not wish to recognize it. Inwardly, he hoped that he was thinking too much and that it was a misunderstanding on his part.

Nicolai, who stood outside, noticed the man shivering in fear and curled his lips upwards. He loved it when people trembled in front of him. Somewhere, it settled the red rage inside his head.

He was holding the upper beam of the doors, and swinging back and forth. However, a second later, he dropped his hands and walked inside as he realized that terrifying Mister Fletcher just this much was not enough.

As soon as Nicolai stepped inside with Kayden and Aiden, Mister Fletcher’s eyes popped out. Behind them was Zena who was holding a small dagger while studying its sharpness.

“M..Mi.. Mister Ni…Ni…Ni…Ni…” Mister Fletcher was so scared that he couldn’t even spell Nicolai’s name. His legs trembled as he felt raw unbridled fear curl around his heart, it was as if a cold hand had caught his heart in a vice grip.

“There aren’t so many Nis, in my name,” Nicolai stated calmly, his lips still curled in a smile as he stared at Mister Fletcher and questioned in a deadly voice that was colder than the devil, “Now I heard that you took something that belongs to me.”
