Chapter 122: Burn it baby burn it
Crack.
Ari looked at the teacup that had fallen from her hands and immediately stepped back. The hot tea spilled all over the floor, fortunately, Ari was quick enough to pull her feet back or else she would have to make another trip to the hospital.
The sound of paws hitting the clean floor echoed behind her and Ari turned around to look at Timmy who was running towards her.
“Woof! Woof!” Timmy stood next to Ari as he pulled on her sleeves with his sharp teeth. He was trying to pull her away from the harm’s way.
“I am fine,” Ari’s eyes softened as she looked at Timmy. With her hand outstretched she ruffled the fur on his head. Timmy let her ruffle his fur but at the same time, he pulled her back. “I have to clean it up, Timmy. We no longer have maids and servants in the house. If I don’t clean it no one else will, what will we do if we step on these broken shards?”
Timmy let out a whine. He seemed to have understood what Ari was saying, but at the same time, he was distressed. What if Ari hurt herself while picking these pieces?
He feared his master getting hurt.
“It’s okay, I will be careful,” Ari’s heart warmed up when she saw that there was indeed someone who cared for her in this world. At the same time, she could not help but scold herself inwardly. If that night she had jumped in the ocean while drunk, who would have taken care of Timmy?
Fortunately, Nicolai saved her.
Ari walked over to the small cupboard in the living room where she had placed the broom and the dustpan. She took them out one by one after she opened the door of the cupboard.
“Timmy closes the door will you please,” she said to the poor dog who was still staring at the shards as if they were some threatening bunch of enemies. Timmy raised his head and looked at the open door of the cupboard, he immediately ran towards it and nudged it with his head, closing the door shut.
While Timmy was away, Ari quickly swept the shards in the dustpan and threw them in the trash can. Fortunately, the teacup she used was made of porcelain and not glass. The shards were big and did not scatter much on the floor.
Timmy, who realized that he, was fooled immediately let out a woof to show his discontentment with Ari. He was trying to protect his master, and she rushed to the battle alone.
“I know, I know but look,” she raised her hands and showed it to Timmy. “No injuries.” She knew why Timmy was acting so nervously with the matter of a broken tea cup. When she was in the Nelson house, Madam Nelson had thrown a tantrum, which resulted in the breaking of many tea cups.
Back then Ari was panicking and did not think of broom and dustpan and picked up the shards with her hands to put them at the side of the room. However, she had injured herself and Timmy had seen it all, this was why he was afraid of the shards.
“You little cutie, you really care for me a lot,” Ari crouched down and then hugged Timmy. She ruffled his fur and kissed him on the top of his head, finding him cuter than usual. He was the only one who was worried about her injuries.
Nicolai De Luca, who had set the entire pub in the middle of the street just because of Ari’s swollen cheek, sneezed. He rubbed his nose and then looked at the burning building with satisfaction written on his face.
“Let’s go,” he said to his cousins and Zena. “We are going back before someone calls the police.”
“So you did know that this is illegal?” Aiden questioned with a complicated look. He was yet to understand why his cousin handed Mister Fletcher ten million dollars after breaking every bone in his body and setting the bar under his command on fire. No matter how he looked at it, ten million dollars did not even come close to this damage.
Nicolai curled his lips, but he did not say anything. He did not tell Aiden that the second he found out that Mister Fletcher had hit Ariana, his hand had twitched as if wanting to send Mister Fletcher to the underworld.
He had let that man live and did not send him to his coffin. It was the biggest concession that Nicolai could give to Mister Fletcher, and no, it was not because he was suddenly feeling nice.
No. If he had killed that man, then even if he was a sinner and the man who bullied Ari, she would have looked at him with those eyes that held disgust just because Nicolai’s hands were covered in blood.
He noticed that she turned pale at the sight of blood. So of course, he couldn’t bring Mister Fletcher’s head to her house and yell, ‘Surprise!’
Since he couldn’t do that, there was no need to kill that man. For now.
“Shut it, Doc. You got your release, I did not see you complaining when you were stabbing the eyes of a certain someone. What happened, did someone from the eye department pissed you off?” Nicolai questioned.
“It’s called Ophthalmology,” Aiden corrected Nicolai. “And to answer your question, yes.”
Zayden glanced at his brother and stated, “Is that so? Why did you not tell me? I would have solved your problem in a jiffy.”
“By burying it?”
“What’s the problem? Burying is a wonderful way to take care of problems.”
Aiden shook his head. He did not say anything to Zayden, he would rather not read the disappearance report of his colleague in the newspaper. No matter how much of an annoying person that man was, he did not deserve to be buried alive.

Zena on the other hand was not paying attention to the twins. She stared at her brother and questioned, “Nico, what do you plan to do now?”
“Who knows?” Nicolai answered. Now that he was knee-deep already, he might as well drown.
