Chapter 125: Bunch of idiots
“Disgusting?” Noah repeated.

“That’s right disgusting,” Ari nodded. She sneered and spat coldly, “You are acting as if you are trying to help me but what you are doing is protecting yours and Ariel’s interests at the cost of mine! If this is not disgusting, then I don’t know what is!”

She turned on her feet and walked away, she did not wish to speak with Noah anymore. Ari did not know what she even expected, when she saw Noah standing at the end of the street and waiting for her, she would be lying if hope had not bubbled in her heart.

Of course, she was not naive enough to think that he would suddenly confess his love for her, but she expected him to at least give her an apology. She had, after all, wasted three years on him but all she received was another mockery.

The onlookers who were watching the confrontation shook their heads in pity. Some elderly women understood what was going on at once and couldn’t help but gossip.

“Who would have thought that this man was involved with a mistress? What a loss of his good face,” stated a plump woman who was coming back after buying the groceries.

The woman next to her sighed and then stated, “It’s often the good-looking ones who cannot be satisfied with just one woman. What a shame, he even came to find trouble with his wife for the sake of a mistress.”

“That woman is also kind if it were me. I would have broken his third leg,” harrumphed a woman with an angry glare that was pointed at Noah. “Look at him acting all high and mighty when he is standing up and protecting his mistress. Who is also the sister of his wife!”

“It’s so disgusting, he has really opened my eyes. Looks like men will go for anyone, but this won’t do. I need to keep an eye on my husband and sister as well, who knows when and who might slip,” another woman remarked.

Brandon, who heard the gossip of the women in the neighbourhood was speechless but at the same time, he did not think that they were in the wrong. His boss was indeed a bit of a jerk and a scumbag, but for the sake of a five-figure salary, he could not say it.

He was worried that someone would recognize Noah and immediately walked over to where his boss was standing.

“Mister Nelson, I think we need to leave,” Brandon whispered to Noah. “It will be bad if someone recognizes us.”

If the news of Noah cheating on Ariana was published in the media then Brandon was certain that it would not take for their shares to take a dip.

Noah also understood that he could no longer stay with Ari gone, he nodded and went inside the car. Brandon followed him before sliding into the driving seat, and it did not take long for the Black Maybach to drive away.

However, as Noah was driving away, his expression was cold as ice. He could not understand why Ari had to blow the matter out of proportion. He never thought of Ariel when he decided to help her, why was it that she had to question his kindness like such?

“Brandon, am I really as bad as Ari made me out to be?” Noah asked his assistant.

When Brandon heard Noah’s question he was so surprised that he turned the car in the opposite direction if Brandon hadn’t stepped on the brakes, they would have slammed into another car. The grip on the steering wheel loosened, and he turned to look at Noah.

“I am sorry that was…” Brandon began but Noah glared at him.

With such a big reaction, what else was there for him to even think about?

‘It seems like everyone thinks that I am the bad person!’ Noah gritted his teeth. He was slightly frustrated as he could not understand what was going on. It was him who was schemed against but in the end, everyone was supporting Ariana.

“Where the hell did I go wrong?” He could not help but recall all the plans and moves he had made in the past few years. Was there something wrong with his moves?

Brandon, who heard the question, remained silent. He knew that there was no point in inserting his opinion at this point and restarted the car before driving back to the company. He was not going to get into this farce alright?

However, the farce that should have ended after the subtle yet sudden end of Noah and Ariana’s meeting did not end that evening.

“Is this how you are supposed to do things! Even a grade schooler can do better than this! All I asked you all was to make a design that Mister Conner would not be able to refuse. What the hell is this! You call this a mall design?” Noah shouted at the design department. Their company had finally won the bid to build the mall for Mister Conner which was not only important but if they succeeded they could also strengthen themselves even further in Lonest City.

However, the more crucial the project, the more demanding Noah was. He glared at the design department and closed his eyes before breathing and out. He exhaled one last time before he shifted back to his usual demeanour. Furthermore, he coldly stated, “I want you all to redo this design. Unless you lot cannot come up with a design that satisfies me and Mister Conner, you all can hand in your resignations on your own.”

Brandon sucked in a breath as he looked at the employees whose faces turned pale. He wanted to say Noah was going too far, but he kept his words to himself, even if Noah put it harshly …the truth remained that this design was unsatisfactory.

Fortunately, Noah was keeping an eye on this project and caught the flaws in the designs before it was sent to Mister Conner.

The design department left with their heads lowered while Noah pinched the bridge of his nose. “Idiots the lots of them.”

No one knew if Ari was involved in this bunch of idiots whom Noah was scolding.
