“You need to stay calm, Mister Nelson,” Brandon could not help but say as the two of them stepped out of the elevator. “I understand that the Design Department fell short of your expectations, but if you were to scold them like such, there would be a lot of dissatisfaction.”

“If I do not deal with them sternly then there will be a lot of dissatisfied reviews from the clients,” Noah stated with a sneer plastered on his lips. “This is not the first time they have created a design without taking care of the client’s considerations. They are no longer working to satisfy the clients’ projects but to fill their pockets. This was necessary, I can overlook once and twice, but this was the third time.”

As he walked towards his office, he ordered, “Ask Cole to keep an eye on Mister Patton, I believe that he is the one who is dissatisfied because he was not made the head of the department and is causing trouble deliberately.”

Noah might be the CEO, but he paid attention to everything that was going on in the company. This was why he was able to lead the company to where it was at his age.

“I understand,” Brandon noted down and immediately messaged Cole to transfer to the Design Department. Cole was the second in command after him, and he could definitely deal with a nobody like Mister Patton.

The two of them stepped inside and Noah ran his hand through his hair.

Noah was upset with how things were going, he had tried to make Ari understand that Nicolai was certainly not helping her out of goodwill, but that woman was too stubborn for her own good. As he was worrying about how to stop Ariana from getting too close to Nicolai before she realized her mistake, his eyes fell on the chessboard on the tea table in his office.

‘What if I deal with the King instead of the pawn?’ A sudden thought came to Noah’s head and he narrowed his eyes. That was indeed right, what was the point of quibbling with Ariana?

She would only go against him for the sake of getting a reaction from him but if he were to push Nicolai back, then Ari would have no choice but to obediently come back to him.

“I have been such a fool,” Noah muttered as he turned on his feet and walked out of the office. Seeing him leave suddenly, Brandon was stunned, he chased after Noah and questioned, “Where are you going? What’s the matter?”

Noah, however, did not answer. Instead, he said, “Stay behind and take a look at the agreement sent by Mister Walsh. If he agrees to the terms I have offered, then you can proceed with the contract but if he does not agree then there is no need to respond.”

“Alright, I got it,” though Brandon did not understand where Noah was going, he did not follow him. Instead, he went to the office where work was waiting for him.

Noah stepped out of the elevator when it reached the parking lot. He strode over to his car briskly and took out his car keys before pressing the button at the centre of the key.

The car’s headlights flashed twice before the lock automatically opened and Noah slid inside the car. However, as soon as he sat in the driver’s seat, his phone started ringing.

A bit confused, Noah took out his phone.

“Is it Brandon? But I just told him that I am busy,” Noah muttered as he fished out his phone from the pocket of his pants. On the screen was Ariel’s name, he glanced at the name and pursed his lips.

If this were in the past, Noah would have been glad to receive a call from Ariel, but now he only felt helpless. And why would he not? She called him more than twenty times a day. Even when he told her that he was in a meeting, she, Ariel wouldn’t stop calling him.

“What’s the matter?” Noah answered the call. He knew that even if he did not answer the call, Ariel would continue calling him.

Ariel, who was on the other side of the call, sensed that Noah was in a bad mood. She frowned upon hearing his sullen voice, however, she was raised by her mother to not question men when they were upset.

According to her mother, men did not like it when women tried to interfere with their business. Thus, even though she was a bit curious about why Noah was angry, she did not question him about it.

She said, “Noah, I just finished shooting. If you are free, then we can grab a bite.”

It had been days since Noah, and she met, Ariel was afraid that Noah would forget about her existence if she did not show up in front of him.

When Noah heard her words, he could not help but frown. He inquired, “Ariel, did you not say that your father is in debt? Ariana is working hard to make sure that the debt is repaid as soon as possible. Why is it that you do not sound concerned at all?” She was in the mood to eat lunch with him? Was Ariel not a bit too relaxed?

Ariel was stunned when she heard Noah’s response. She wasn’t concerned about his suspicions, but what she cared about was Noah’s care about Ariana. Did he go looking for Ari? If not, how would he know that Ari was working hard to repay the debt?

‘That damned woman! She is like a cockroach even after divorcing Noah, she is prancing in front of him. How shameless, humph!’ Ariel scolded Ariana. She was furious at the thought of Ari and Noah meeting again, at the same time she was scared that Ari would tell Noah the truth about the past.

She immediately turned her voice hoarse and sniffling before saying, “How can I not be worried? I am worried to death! It’s just that I have worked hard in the past few days, and I am exhausted. I wanted to change the mood after working for weeks without a pause. But if you do not want it, then forget it.”
