Noah stared at the man with his lips pursed. He knew that Nicolai was deranged, but as he continued to stare at the man who stood in front of him, he looked simply psychopathic.

“Stay away from her,” the more Nicolai behaved like this, the more Noah was certain that he was not the kind of man who should be next to Ariana.

“Did you ignore what I just said?” Nicolai took a step forward, his eyes were alight with amusement and mockery. “You have no right to say those words to me. This decision belongs to Ari and not you.” He was so close to Noah that he was now breathing the same air as him.

Nicolai condescendingly looked down at Noah, the two of them were of the same height. But Nicolai towered Noah by three inches, he stated, “You did not care about her for three years, now what? Can’t let go just because Ari was once your wife?”

‘Ari? He was calling Ariana as Ari?’ Noah sucked in a breath as he had not expected, Ariana to give Nicolai the right to use her nickname. He knew very well how much Ariana hated it when someone who did not have any relationship with her tried to act close to her.

“It’s nothing like that,” Noah refused at once, his thoughts went back to the day when he married Ariana. That woman had looked at him with eyes as innocent as a newborn fawn, every action of hers was timid and scared. She was someone who did not dare to raise her voice in front of him.

Noah firmly believed that Ariana had sent Ariel away, but he had to admit that Ariana did not see much of the world. She was innocent in many ways, back then the two of them were newly married, and he remembered her sitting in front of the mirror and looking at the lingerie that was placed on the dressing table.

‘Why is this dress so short, how can I wear it outside?’ Ari asked him, she looked genuinely confused.

‘Are you really innocent, or you are trying to act simple-minded?’ Noah had questioned her back instead of answering. His expression was grim.

‘Huh?’ Ari turned to look at him, when Noah looked at her eyes which stared at him with innocence that could not be faked, he felt his heart lurch. He blinked his eyes and questioned, ‘Do you not understand what happens between a man and woman after they marry?’

Her cheeks suddenly turned red as she nodded. She replied, ‘I know. But what does that have to do with this dress? Anyway, why are you bringing up such a matter? Isn’t it just copulation?’

In her innocent mind, s*x was nothing but a responsibility that two people needed to take because they needed to continue their family line. Other than that, Ari had no idea about how to please a man.

Noah stared at the woman, who stared back at him. Back then he did have the thoughts to consummate their marriage with Ariana but when he saw how innocent she was according to the things that she should have faced, he couldn’t bring himself to sleep with her.

For him, Ariana was like a blank paper with only a few stains and Nicolai De Luca was an entire pot of ink.

Noah, who had lost himself in the past, returned to the present. He stared at Nicolai and stated, “She is an innocent woman, it would do you some good if you keep your hands off her. I know what kind of women you linger around, Mister De Luca, but Ari is not one of those women.”

“How do you know?” Nicolai questioned back, he tilted his head to the side and a wicked grin etched on his lips. He placed his hands in the pocket of his trousers and he remarked, “Isn’t everything that you have assumed? You assumed that she had kept you away from your beloved so you attacked her, you assumed that she was innocent and you never touched her. Isn’t that because you have never seen your wife carefully, Mister Nelson?”

He leaned down and whispered in Noah’s ear, “But I bet that your ex-wife is not only a just and honest woman, but she is a wild cat in bed. It’s just that you never bothered to find out, but I will. I will peel every layer that she has surrounded herself with and when she is finally stripped bare… I will make her mine.”

“Whoopsie!” He backed away when Noah swung his fist at him once again. “Now, now, there is no need for you to be so angry.”

“HOW DARE YOU!” Noah felt rage blinding his eyes as he looked at Nicolai. He wished he could tear him to pieces right then and there. How dare he say that he would ——

“Alright, that will be enough,” Zayden walked over to where Noah was standing and raised the gun in his hand. He aimed it at the side of Noah’s forehead and stated, “I did not make a move earlier because this son of a gun deserved it. But don’t think that you can act all haughty just because he made a move on your wife——”

“Ex-wife,” Nicolai corrected Zayden causing both the men to turn and look at him. One seemed to be filled with rage as if he was thinking of the best way to send him to his maker while the other one was filled with exasperation.

“That’s right, ex-wife,” Zayden corrected himself. He then turned to look at Nicolai and said, “Happy? I can continue now?”

“Sure go ahead,” Nicolai walked back to his chair, leaving Zayden to take care of Noah who seemed to be burning with anger.

Zayden snorted. “Anyway, what I want to say is that even if you intend to hit him or punch him, it’s not going to change anything. The second you signed the divorce papers, your and your wife’s destiny was set. You let her go, and my brother picked her up, now, even if he chews her down and spits her on the ground. It has nothing to do with you.”
