Chapter 146: Better in game
The tears in Ari’s eyes hadn’t even dried up when she heard Ryan’s words. She turned to look at the man who was trying to provoke her and said coldly, “I don’t know whether my worth rises or lowers when I strip my clothes off, but I do remember someone who stripped his clothes off and ever since then he has become nothing but a clown in the eyes of others.”
Ryan’s face stiffened before a blush blossomed on his cheeks. He seemed to have understood that Ari was calling him a clown, but he dared not to retort as it would be similar to acquiescing that he was a clown.
“That’s right!” Trey snorted from the side. He glanced at Ryan up and down before sneering coldly, “Even if our worth is not high, we are still better than a certain scumbag. At least we know the difference between right and wrong.”
Stella did not say anything as she believed that speaking even a word to Ryan was a waste of her time. She turned to look at Ari and said to her, “Didn’t you have a prior arrangement? I believe that your friend is already here and waiting for you.” As she spoke she pointed at Danny who stood at the entrance of the café with his boyfriend.
He waved at Ari when she turned to look at him.
“Hey, baby! Let’s go, Jace had already booked a table for us!” Danny exclaimed at the top of his voice, causing Jace to give him a stinky eye. “What? Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Do you need a microphone?” Jace questioned with an exasperated voice. “I bet even the old man down the lane heard you talking.”
Danny rolled his eyes and snorted. “Why do I care about the old man? I just want my bestie to hear me. It’s not like I am extending the invitation.”
He then turned to look at Ari and was about to say something more when his gaze fell on Ryan who stood next to Ari and his expression soured. “What is that nasty piece of shit doing here?” He muttered under his breath.
Danny knew Ryan as the two of them studied at the same college, but Ryan did not recognize Danny and jeered at Ari, “You are perfect. Just a few weeks and you already have three men dancing at the tips of your fingers.”
“Jealous much?” Ari offered sweetly as she took off the apron that was tied to her back. She had completely forgotten that Danny wanted to celebrate her divorce and arranged for a small party.
However, she was not going to say this to Ryan. This loud mouth.
“Why would I be jealous?” Ryan scoffed feeling amused.
Ari turned to glance at him as she handed the apron to Stella. She smiled at him, before lifting her shoulder casually, “Maybe because my game is stronger than yours?”
After she finished speaking, she turned on her feet and walked out of the café. To people who thought less of her, Ari had learned her lesson to not waste her time and energy.
If they believed that she was selling her body? Then fine by her. It wasn’t as if their words would cause any damage to her life.
“What the——” Ryan needed two seconds before he could understand what Ari said to him. He was speechless and embarrassed after being mocked by someone like Ari. He roared behind her, “What’s so great about being a wh*re?”
“What kind of question is even that?” Trey asked with an affronted expression. He looked at Ryan and sneered coldly while studying his nails which were chipped off because he did not take care of them. “If it feels great for you to be a man who*re then who are you to look down on Ariana? Like for real dude? Are you the only man like this out there or is everyone the same? If so, I am so dying a virgin.”
“It’s better if you don’t ask, Trey,” Stella patted Trey on the shoulder. She then turned to look at Ryan and mockingly smiled at him. With a quick lean towards Ryan, she whispered, “If you are done, can you get lost on your own or should I call the security?”
Ryan’s face, if possible turned even redder. He glared at Stella before turning on his feet and storming out of the café. But as he left, he did not forget to tell what happened in the café to Noah.

“How many sons of b*tches do you even know?”
“What kind of question is that?” Ari asked as she raised her head from the barbecue skewers in front of her. She picked up a juicy piece of meat and popped it in her mouth. “And where did this even come from?”
“Ryan Baker? Like damn. What is that playboy even doing lurking around you? Just how many women did he ruin when he was young?” Danny remarked while turning the meat on the grill. “I did not expect such a man to be in your company.”
Jace chuckled as he took the tongs from Danny and started grilling the meat while pushing the plate with grilled meat towards Danny. Ari felt a pang of envy as she noticed that Jace grilled that meat for an hour and made sure it was grilled to perfection, not to mention he only grilled the lean meat.
‘When will someone dote on me like that?’ Ari sighed inwardly.
“Believe me, I would rather not be in his company either,” Ari did not tell Danny about Leila and Ryan as it was not her business. She popped another skewer on her plate and stabbed the fork into the piece of meat. “That man is just being a pain in my a*s like his friend. Apparently, he relays everything that I do to Noah.”
“He is still bothering you?” Danny caught the important part. “The divorce has been finalized, what is that man doing?”
“Who knows?” Ari shrugged as she ate her fill.
“Humph, if he is trying to get you back… you better kick him in the crotch, Ari! Or we will no longer be friends!” Danny stated firmly.

“And who exactly she should kick in the crotch?” A cold voice asked out of nowhere.
