Chapter 151: Detective Mother
“If you are feeling sick then you might as well throw up here,” Jace suggested upon hearing Ari’s words. They were standing in the middle of nowhere, certainly, Ari did not need to hold back.
Danny rolled his eyes when he heard the stupid advice of his lover. He supported Ari by her shoulders and sneered, “What do you know? You want her to hurl in front of her ex? That would be so humiliating.” He then turned to look at Ari before saying, “Don’t listen to him, sweetie. He doesn’t have even an ounce of tact in his body. He is lucky that he met me or else he would be a single dog for all his life.”
His voice was filled with disdain.
“What’s the big deal?” Jace questioned as he followed Danny, who turned and smiled at him. Though his smile held mockery. A second later Danny said to Jace, “Darling, it’s a matter of pride. If one day you and I break up, and I am caught in a tough situation where I have to beg you and choke on my own vomit. I will choose the latter. Gladly at that.”
Jace felt an imaginary crow fly past his head leaving three dots behind.
“Is it that serious?”
“It’s that serious,” Danny nodded. He then helped Ari inside the car while cursing Noah angrily, “Damn that dumb bastard, you have been married to him for so long, and he doesn’t know that you get sick in the car without proper medications? How dare he take you to drive down the highway to hell!”
“If he wasn’t a Nelson, I would have sent him to the prison.”
“I would have done that too,” Ari frowned as she popped a pill to suppress her nausea. “He could have killed me tonight.”
Ari still felt jittery because of the hellish ride, she was not a fan of thrill and adventurous things. This was something Noah knew but for the sake of proving himself right, he had done something so terrible. Did he never think about how she would feel?
“It feels like all those years I served him was just a joke, no wonder he called me a clown,” Ari suddenly felt like crying. He listened to Ariel and Ryan, who filled his ears with lies but not once did he question if there was any truth in those words. He believed them just as much as he found her distrustful.
Danny knew that Ari was saddened by what Noah had done. He hugged her by her shoulders and said, “There is no need to feel upset over a man like him. He might be one good-looking bastard but what’s the use of good looks when he doesn’t even use his wits?”
Jace glanced at Ari through the mirror and questioned, “Are you feeling alright? Do you need to go to the hospital?”
“I am fine. There is no need to rush to the hospital for such a small thing,” she would rather not make a fuss out of something so unimportant. It wasn’t as if she bled or got hurt.
“Are you sure?” Jace asked again and Ari nodded. Only then did he turn the ignition on and leave the port.
Noah watched the car drive away, his expression turned stormy as he raised his hand and banged them on the steering wheel.
“Damn it!”

At the Nelson manor, Mrs. Nelson was looking out of the large wooden door. She was waiting for Noah as she needed to talk to her son, earlier this morning she had received a message from Master Roman.
He had asked her what happened at the Nelson manor, and why the woman for whom, he had paid off the bankruptcy debt that belonged to the Nelson family was no longer where she was supposed to be.
Mrs Nelson had made excuses until her throat was parched and her back was soaked with cold sweat, she had promised Master Roman that she would bring Ari back no matter what.
Master Roman had repaid debts that amounted to more than just a few millions, just this was enough for Mrs Nelson to understand how much Master Roman wanted Ariana. That man, for some reason, was obsessed with Ariana.
Earlier in the morning, Mrs Nelson was certain that she was going to lose her life. Fortunately for her, the Serpents were at war with the Phantoms and couldn’t run amok in Lonest at the moment, as this was the territory of Phantoms. If not, Mrs Nelson dare not imagine the consequences.
“Where is he? Harrison, did Noah tell you that he would be late today?” Mrs Nelson questioned Harrison who was wiping the vase sitting at the corner of the living room.
The butler paused in his actions and turned to look at Mrs Nelson. He brought his hand that was holding the rag to the side and shook his head. He replied, “I am afraid that there was no such message from Master Noah. If he had relayed such words, I would have told you, Mrs Nelson.”
Mrs Nelson wanted to say something more, but her attention was attracted by her daughter. Glynn was dressed in a simple white tube top and pink skirt that reached only to her thighs. Seeing her dressed up, Madam Mia stood up.
“Where are you going?” Madam Mia was worried that her daughter would get fooled by that poor boy whom she had chased out with difficulty. “Are you going to look for that boy again?” She sounded suspicious as Glynn was leaving the house all dolled up.
Glynn paused. Her foot which was raised, settled down as well. She turned and looked at her mother with a frown, “I am not, I am going to Elaine’s home. We have a project to submit and she is my partner. The two of us decided to work on it tonight.”
However, Madam Mia did not believe Glynn. How could she after what Glynn had done to Noah?
