Chapter 155: Ringing of bell in the middle of night
Jeremy felt even more astounded. He couldn’t help but ask, “Noah, what do you mean by debts? Since when did Ariana have debts?” Jeremy did not know much about Ariana, as she always stayed silent like a doll sitting in the corner without life in her eyes.
However, he did know one thing. Ariana was not used to the life of comfort and luxury, she wouldn’t take anything that did not belong to her, unless she had worked for it or earned the thing she would never touch it. Was this not the reason why despite being married to Noah for so long, she did not use the cards that were given to her by Old Master Nelson.
“It’s impossible for her to be in a debt,” Jeremy refused to believe that Ariana had acquired debts just after leaving the house.
Noah recalled that Jeremy did not know anything about Ariana being in a debt. He relayed what happened to the Harlow family and what he said to Ariana. By the time he finished speaking, he furrowed his brows and said to his uncle, “Tell me, Uncle Jeremy. Did I say something wrong?”
Wrong? My boy, you made a disaster! Jeremy exclaimed inwardly. Now he was quite regretful that he hadn’t stopped his sister in law and brother from telling Noah to not fall in love at a young age and to not lose his virginity unless he was married.
If he had stopped them, then Noah would have learned a few things.
He closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose before asking the main question that was in his mind from the second he heard Noah accuse Ariana of sleeping with Nicolai,
“Who told you that she is sleeping with Mister De Luca? Did you see her with him?”
“No, but Ryan and Ariel have no reason to lie to me,” Noah answered. He trusted these two people with whom he had grown up without a doubt.
“Noah, sometimes ——” Jeremy raised his voice but then he calmed down. With his forefinger and thumb massaging the centre of his forehead, he placed his free hand on his back. “I apologize for losing my temper.”
He then breathed in and out while trying to calm himself while regaining the loss of control.
Only when Jeremy was certain that his temper was back to normal, did he turn to look at Noah who seemed startled by his loss of control.
Noah was indeed surprised as it was Jeremy who had taught him how to control his anger. Jeremy had taught him that decisions made in anger resulted in many disasters and Noah had kept this teaching close to his heart.
For Jeremy to lose his temper, it was a rare occurrence.
Jeremy smiled at Noah. He did not wish to scare his nephew even though he did something wrong. He said in a light voice, “Noah, sometimes peopel change. Take your sister for example, when she was young… she was so kind and affectionate to the poor. She used to play with a small boy next to our old house. Do you remember him?”
Noah nodded. “I do. His father used to work as a cleaning staff in a school, if I am not wrong.”
“Thats right. Didn’t Glynn used to stay with that boy? She treated him with kindness and even ate on the same table with his family but will she do the same thing now?” Jeremy questioned with a stern voice.
Upon hearing his words, Noah turned silent and did not speak. Seeing that Noah had nothing to say, Jeremy walked over and patted him on the shoulder, “Noah, people will change with times. When we are young, no one cares about petty gains and benefits.”
“But once we grow up, our view changes… either for the good or for the worse,” Jeremy smiled with a reminiscent look on his face. “When I was young, your grandfather made me marry a woman, whom I did not like. I made a lot of mistakes because of my negligent attitude and anger.”
“It was only when I lost your aunt and our unborn child, did I realize what kind of mistakes I have made… however now your aunt will never come back,” he smiled with a saddened expression before adding, “I made a mistake Noah, don’t be a fool and make the same mistake as your uncle. Because if you lose a fine woman like Ariana, you will have nothing but regrets in your heart.”

Ariana had no idea what was happening in the Nelson family neither did she have the time to care for them.
She returned home and took a few days rest before taking off the bandage on her foot that had twisted a few weeks ago.
“Timmy, I am so excited,” Ariana said as she threw the dirty bandage in the trash can after properly rolling it in and newspaper. This kind of thing if it was not properly disposed, stray animals might end up suffocating themselves while looking for food.
She crouched down and then ruffled Timmy’s fur. “Tomorrow, I am going to start working in the hospital. Though I am a bit scared because I cannot handle the sight of blood very well…I still feel really glad to have this opportunity.” Her eyes dimmed when she remembered the cause of this fear.
That boy… he ——
“Woof!” Timmy licked Ariana’s cheek, matching her excitement with his.
“Hahahaha,” Ariana chuckled and wiped the drool off her face. She kissed Timmy on the nose and muttered, “You naughty boy.”
The two of them teased one another until the doorbell rang. Ariana frowned and glanced at the clock, it was nine in the night. Who came ti her house at such an hour?
Was it Nicolai? Noah? Ariana furrowed her brows as she stood up and walked to the door. Timmy followed behind her with his tail wagging.

As Ariana arrived at the door, she peeked through the peep hole but she did not see anyone standing outside. Instead what she saw was ——-
