Chapter 189: T.A. Patient
On the other side of the city, Noah was sitting in his car while reading some documents. Once in a while, his gaze would drop to the screen of his phone before he returned his gaze to the documents.
‘Still nothing,’ he had believed that Ariana would return in a few days after she realized what kind of monster Nicolai De Luca was, but instead he didn’t receive any texts or calls from her.
‘Wait, why was he even worrying about that woman?’ Noah shook his head and focused his attention back on the documents but halfway through he once again started to worry about Ariana.
After a long harassing fight with his heart, Noah finally gave in to his whims and asked, “Brandon, did you find out what happened to Ariana? And what has she doing these past few days?”
“Ah yes,” Brandon looked up at the mirror that was facing backwards. While looking at Noah who was reading the documents for the meeting, he answered, “I had to look into it for a bit, but I finally got my hands on something, thanks to Edward. Madam——Miss Harlow is currently working in the hospital that’s under the Phantoms.”
Noah, who was turning a page of the file that was in his lap, paused. He raised his head and wondered if he missed something before questioning again, “What did you say?”
“I said——”
BANG!
The car twisted to one side as Brandon tried to avoid the car that was heading their way. He turned the steering completely to one side as he tried to avoid getting smashed by the car that seemed to be out of control.
However, in his attempts to avoid an accident, he ended up swiveling the car to the side where the metal barricading was secured tightly. With a deafening bang, the car finally came to a stop along with the airbags popping out.
“Damn that bastard,” Brandon cursed as he turned to look at the car that was supposed to be out of control.
Just a second ago, it was moving at an uncontrollable speed, but now the driver was driving away with ease. The car that seemed to be out of control was also moving steadily.
It seemed like they were the target of that car that drove past. No, not them instead it——
“Mister Nelson, are you alright?” Brandon turned to look behind him, but the second he glanced at Noah, his eyes widened.

“Attention, this is for Intern Ariana Harlow, please arrive at the ER department as soon as possible,” the announcement rang loud and clear through the speaker that was situated at the top of Doctor Stoll’s office door.
Ariana, who was listening to the medication and treatment, arranged by Doctor Stoll turned to look at the speaker before turning to look at Doctor Stoll who smiled at her.
“I will see you on Saturday, please make sure to attend the session on time,” Doctor Stoll said to Ariana who nodded in response.
“I will. Thank you for the time, Doctor Stoll,” Ariana said to the man before taking her leave.
“Doctor, why did not tell her that there was something wrong with her brain?” The assistant who stood beside Doctor Stoll asked with a frown once Ariana left the office.
“Are you asking about the signs of brainwashing?” Doctor Stoll turned to look at his assistant and questioned in return for answering the question. “I know that you must be wondering why I wasn’t straightforward about such a condition, but you see, Ella…”
“People still have some reluctance towards psychiatrists and psychologists,” Doctor Stoll stated calmly. “Not to mention, Miss Harlow’s mind is rather delicate. Imagine finding out that her entire life she was suppressed by her own loved ones from showing her true emotions. It could have been done deliberately or unintentionally but…”
His expression turned solemn as he stated, “It doesn’t change anything. If I were to tell her that she was actually brainwashed, moreover—— I am worried that her mind might go into shock.”
“The human brain is complex, we cannot handle it and matters related to it lightly. Especially when the patient is in a weakened condition from the beginning already,” Doctor Stoll closed the file that was in front of him and then handed it to Ella. “Keep it in the second drawer to the right.”
“Then are you not going to tell, Miss Harlow, about her condition completely?” Ella asked as she took the file.
“There is no need for me to tell anything to her,” Doctor Stoll said with a bright smile. “As long as she continues with her treatment, it won’t take long for Miss Harlow to realize that there is something wrong with her. In fact, it will be better for her to realize it on her own or else she might go into a coma as the episode she might have after finding out her true condition …would be grave. Because it is just not one but two conditions, one overlapping the other one.”
His eyes were filled with concern as he rubbed his forehead, “This is why she needs to find out first that there is something seriously wrong with her.”
“I hope that someone can help her to realize that she is sick in a sense where she cannot trust anyone but herself.”

Ariana arrived at the ER department. After working with Aiden in the public ward, she was allowed to work in the ER department. It was just that no one allowed her to treat them as people did not trust the intern compared to the doctors.

“Is something the matter?” Ariana asked as she arrived at the nurse station.
“Doctor Harlow,” the nurse at the nurse station raised her head and then pushed the files and reports that were handed to her just a moment ago. “A patient just arrived at the hospital. It’s a T. A patient, please look at the reports and prepare yourself to treat the patient. Currently, all the doctors are busy or off duty.”
“Presently, you are the only intern allowed to deal with cases like such, so I can only transfer the patient under your care.”
