Chapter 190: Treating someone unwanted
Ariana took the report from the nurse and quickly took a look at the condition of the patient. Though the person involved in the accident lost a lot of blood, from the X-ray and medical reports it didn’t seem like the patient was in danger.
She heaved a sigh of relief and said to the nurse, “Please ask an anesthesiologist to prepare and have someone bring sensitized needle and thread and some cleaning materials. There is no need to worry, the patient doesn’t seem to be injured gravely and only needs some stitches to the cut on his forehead.”
As for whether the patient was suffering from concussion or occasional pain and dizziness, Ariana could only confirm that after she had seen the patient.
“Yes, Doctor Harlow,” the nurse nodded as she picked up the phone’s receiver most probably to call the anesthesiologist.
Ariana, on the other hand, walked over to the ER department where she rushed to the ward where the T. A patient was at the moment. However, as soon as she arrived at the ward, she noticed a familiar face.
“Brandon?” Ariana called as she came to a stop in front of the door of the ward.
“Madam,” Brandon was slightly surprised when he saw Ariana. His gaze fell on Ariana’s white coat, and he sucked in a breath. When he found out that Ariana was working at the hospital as an intern, he had hoped that it was just rumors.
If Mrs Nelson found out that Ariana was working in the hospital, she would not be happy. But it seemed like there would be trouble eventually and it would be unavoidable.
Mrs Nelson hadn’t given up on bringing Ariana back, but now she was working in the hospital, which meant that Ariana would not agree to quit either.
Brandon was having a headache just thinking about the quarrel that would take place between Mrs Nelson and Ariana in the upcoming days.
“Is the patient inside the ward, Mister Nelson?” Ariana asked. As this was an emergency call, the report did not have the name of the patient at the moment—— the nurse only handed her the X-rays and the medical reports of the patient and not his name.
‘If I knew that it was Noah, I would have arranged for some other intern to come here,’ Ari thought with a sigh.
Mister Nelson?
Brandon was surprised at how Ariana addressed Noah. However, he did not have the opportunity to worry about such a small matter as there was a bigger issue that required his concern.
He nodded and replied to Ariana, “It is indeed Mister Nelson. We met with a small accident when we were on the way to a meeting. Madam, please look at Mister Nelson. We waited for fifteen minutes, but apart from the nurses, no doctors came to examine Mister Nelson.”
“It’s because there are important surgeries lined up in the thoracic department. Even the internal medicine department is busy at the moment,” stated Ariana as she placed her hand on the door of the ward.
She paused and turned to look at Brandon who turned to look at her with confusion in his eyes, “And please call me, Doctor Harlow. I am no longer your madam.”
Brandon ….
He knew that Noah had no chance of getting Ariana back, but he did not know that the chances were this slim.
Ariana didn’t care about what was going on in Brandon’s head, she pushed open the door and walked inside.
Noah, who was sitting on the bed, looked up when he saw Ariana striding towards him. At first, he thought that she was there to see him, but that was until his eyes fell on the white coat that Ariana was wearing.
‘Ah, Brandon did say that she was working in this hospital,’ Noah thought while trying to suppress the throbbing headache.
Ariana took a glance at Noah, whose immaculate clothes were covered in blood before she turned her attention back to the reports in her hand.
“Mister Nelson, can you tell me how you received this injury?” She asked Noah with a firm voice which was quite different from the gentle one that she used when she lived with Noah.
Though Noah was not used to Ariana talking to him like this, he didn’t show any emotions on his face.
“The window on my side of the car was open when the accident happened. Our car collided with the metal railing on the side of the road, which led to a few things flying inside the car… this injury was caused by a sharp stone which flew inside the car when Brandon was trying to take control of the car,” Noah relayed everything to Ari, who nodded.
“Did the stone get stuck in your skin, or did it just collide?” Ariana further asked as she placed the reports on the table next to the ward.
“It was a small stone and got stuck, Doctor Harlow,” Brandon was the one who answered instead of Noah, causing the two of them to look at him. “Sorry,” Brandon raised his hand apologetically before looking away.
Ari sighed and turned to look at Noah. “Did you remove the stone on your own or did you ask a professional to do it for you?” Ariana further questioned, and Noah hesitated before saying, “I removed it myself.”
Hearing his response, Ariana frowned.

“Did you tell this to the nurse who came to examine you?”
“No. Was there a need to do that?” Noah asked with a frown on his face. The stone was already removed. Was there a need for him to tell the nurse?
“Of course,” Ari stated just as the nurse opened the door and walked inside with a tray of equipment and sensitized gloves. “As you said, the stone was stuck in your head due to the impact of your car slamming into the metal railing. Though it might not seem serious to you, there is a very likely chance that the stone might have snapped into two because of the impact with your skull.”
Noah….
Was she calling him thick-headed indirectly?
