Chapter 192: Chapter 192
“Is everything alright with the patient, Doctor Harlow?” The nurse at the nurse station questioned when she saw Ariana. Her face held a worried frown.
Earlier when the patient came to the hospital, the nurse did not know the identity of the patient. Thus, she quickly arranged for Ariana to treat that patient.
But a few minutes ago, Mandy returned to the nurse station as she needed the medical history records of a patient and while they were conversing, Mandy told her that the patient was a VIP.
If the nurse had known that the patient was a VIP, then she would have rather waited for a doctor to return instead of handing him to Ariana.
But all the doctors were busy, and she didn’t have another option apart from handing the treatment of this VIP patient to an intern as the patient was bleeding heavily, and they did not have the opportunity to wait.
If she had waited, then the condition of the patient could have turned even more serious.
Though Cassidy knew what she did was not wrong, she couldn’t help but worry. If Ariana, being an intern, made a mistake while treating the patient then she would also be punished along with Ariana.
‘As I am her senior, my punishment will be heavier,’ thought Cassidy fretfully.
“Everything is alright. I have sewn the cut on his forehead as well as cleaned up the debris that was stuck inside the flesh,” Ariana handed the reports to the nurse in charge of the nurse station at the moment.
Cassidy took the reports and studied them carefully when she saw that Ariana had dealt with the injury of the patient correctly, she heaved a sigh of relief.
“Very well,” Cassidy nodded as she placed the reports neatly on the side and said to Ariana, “I have already arranged the charts and materials for your rounds. Should I hand them to you now or will you take them once your shifts start?”
Because Ariana wanted to make a trip to the psychiatric department, she had asked Aiden to give him half a day off. Thus, her shift was yet to begin.
“Let me take them,” Ariana sighed as she agreed to take the materials and charts from Cassidy. Since she had already started working then she might as well start with her shift.
‘Anyway, I only have an hour left it will not make much of a difference,’ thought Ariana calmly.
“Alright,” Cassidy smiled at Ariana as she reached to grab hold of the charts.
“Ariana Harlow!” A voice roared at the entrance of the hospital. The voice naturally belonged to Mrs Nelson who had just arrived in the City Hospital.
Cassidy lost the grip on the charts and everything scattered all over the floor, behind them was a man mopping the floor. Upon hearing such a loud voice, he lost his footing and slipped.
On the other hand, Ariana winced as her hand which she was holding in the air to grab hold of the charts ended up getting a cut as she jerked her hand in surprise.
Ariana dropped her gaze and noticed a red slash on the tip of her finger and cursed in her heart.
The hands of a doctor were their greatest asset.
Aiden had asked her to pay attention to the safety of her hands.
‘This is great. Now I cannot perform any surgery with Aiden,’ Ari thought with furrowed brows.
For surgery to be perfect, the hands of a surgeon need to be precise and accurate. With the tip of her finger sporting such a deep gash, Ari was afraid that she would make a mistake.
She turned to look at the culprit behind her injury and noticed Mrs Nelson marching towards her like an angry bull.
“What are you doing here? Why in the world are you even here??” Mrs Nelson looked furious as she glared at Ari.
In the past, Ari would have held her hands in front of her and lowered her head like an obedient daughter-in-law. But this time around, she stared at Mrs Nelson in the eyes.
“I believe that this is something that I should be asking you,” stated Ari, she turned her attention to Cassidy and apologized, “I am sorry. Please give me a few minutes, I will return to you and take the charts and materials.”
Cassidy nodded. She did not understand who this woman was and why she was yelling at Ariana, but she didn’t pry into Ariana’s matter.
“Then please return before your shift starts. You need to do an ABG test on Mrs Cartwright,” said Cassidy as she was worried that Ariana might get delayed because of this angry woman.
“Don’t worry, I will return before my shift starts,” agreed Ariana. She then turned to look at Mrs Nelson and said to her. “Come with me lest you want everyone to record a video of your actions and place it on the Internet.”

Mrs Nelson wished to say some very harsh words to Ariana right in front of others but upon hearing the words of Ariana, Mrs Nelson stiffened. She glanced around and noticed others looking at her.
Some were even holding their phones in their hands.
“Very well,” Mrs Nelson snorted as she walked after Ariana who was heading out of the hospital.
Once the two of them came to a stop next to the parking lot, Mrs Nelson turned to look at Ariana.
The very moment her gaze fell on the white coat that Ariana was wearing, Mrs Nelson could hear her funeral march.
‘That man wanted Ari as downtrodden as possible such that he could save her at the right time and become her saviour,’ thought Mrs Nelson worriedly.
“What is it?” Unaware of the thoughts that were circulating in Mrs. Nelson’s head, Ari questioned, “Why are you here to look for me?”
Hearing Ariana’s voice, Mrs. Nelson snapped out of her thoughts. Her face turned red as the woman clenched her fingers tightly. The way Ariana spoke to her didn’t sit well with Mrs. Nelson.
